Nicole has been a joy to host. Very capable with the reno tasks I required her to undertake- sanding and painting, organising, moving furnishings and junk, plus house duties. Nothing was too big or small. She fitted extremely well into our little family. We loved her time here and would welcome her back in a heart beat. She's since moved on to an impromptu stay at my sister's home in the next town!

I had a great time at this place in Acacias. Diana is a wonderful host that tries everything she can to make sure you are comfortable. Although she is still learning English and I'm still learning Spanish, we managed to communicate a lot :) during the week I helped her organize an event to promote her coliving space. she introduced me to a lot of her friends and network and showed me all the places to eat good food and to hike. definitely a recommend if you want to improve your Spanish and learn about Colombian culture in a place that is not (yet) so touristy :)

I had a great time at the idioma school, Although I only stayed in Acacias for a week, I did get to know the town. The children I taught are very keen to learn English and that makes it very fun too. We played lots of games and had lots of talks about life as well. The masterchef event - where kids cook for you and present their dishes in English - was definitely a highlight :)

We had the most amazing time at Janice's! This was our last workaway in New Zealand and we are so glad to have had the chance to stay with this family. We were here for one and a half weeks and made so many memories in that time. A trip to the beautiful beach close-by, the art-deco festival in Napier, different hikes and of course our stay in the Tongario National Park! Dan and Janice are incredibly generous hosts. Janice even booked an Airbnb so her workawayers can do the Tongario crossing or just generally walk around the Tongario National Park. The work was very easy and you can choose from a variety of tasks. We did some planting, weeding, washed Tia and Chloe and baked heaps of bagels. Thank you so much for this opportunity and letting us into your home<3

This has been my first volunteering experience ever. I didn't know what to expect but what I found didn't disappoint at all. Chapadmalal is a very quiet and chill small town and the hostel totally represent that spirit. As a volunteer there, we used to work only 5 hours a day, 5 days a week; the tasks are pretty easy like cleaning common areas, bathroom and dorm then doing the dishes after lunch and dinner. The hostel location is ideal, only five minutes from the beach and another thing I found super nice and relaxing is their garden where you can have breakfast in the morning or chill in the sun during the afternoon. If you are looking to disconnect from the city for a bit the place Mateo and Margaux built and where they live with Ghandi, Pepino, Tormenta and Kahlo (extra cute dogs and an even cuter cat) is perfection. Thank you guys for the warm welcome and for sharing your home and lifestyle <3

We were very fortunate to have Jördis and Niko for a week at our property. During that time they helped with macadamia nut harvesting, fencing repairs, gardening, and general animal and land chores. They were very open and willing to learn about all aspects of our farm. They took care of the accommodation really well, were very independent and easy to deal with. We would recommend them to anyone who is looking for extra pairs of hands and an interest in what you are doing.

I really enjoyed 7 days at Luis’s little sanctuary. Such a peaceful and relaxing place. I liked learning about bio construction and see how much we could advance in a week around the kitchen area with the floor. Work was interesting and rewarding and managed to practice Spanish with Moises (Luis’s local helping hand with constructions). Luis is very easygoing, friendly + a great musician and cook. Had a chance listening his music during the evenings when he was practicing. I really like the place and idea what he is creating there and enjoyed talking about different topics. Regarding spare time, there was plentiful. I rented a motorbike and had so much time to explore the nearby beaches and town in the afternoons. Would love to come back in a few years to see how much the project advanced. All the best Luis !

Roger and Brenda have created a wonderful mulitnational community and it was a pleasure to be a part of it! Although my stay was only a week I could experience so much thanks to their generosity! I did mostly weeding and mulching, the work was absolutely manageable and split with coffee breaks at Neil's (which I miss so much!!). Roger was always keen to share his knowledge about NZ or the rest of the world, always happy to help:). It was a pleasure to stay with them and to spend time with their local community in Manakau - a time I will cherish:)

Our experience with Sophia has been truly excellent. She is a very kind, thoughtful, friendly person and her positivity truly reflects her outlook on life. She was a great friend to Luca and always helped us with everything she could to make our daily life easier to organize. We spent an amazing five weeks together and I really hope we will keep in touch from now on. Thank you for everything, dear Sophia!

Marayke and Will were with us for two weeks and their contribution was invaluable. They cooked the main meal for a group of 10 volunteers on a daily basis during their stay, apart from many other tasks. One other volunteer commented that “they create a home from home, whereever they are”. We we could not agree more. Apart from their professional skills (gardening, DIY, cooking, and organising stuff), they contributed their calmness and humour, something that is very needed when there's a lot going on. We are hoping that they will return one day, even just to say hello 😊

I had a lot of fun staying at Leah's. The work was fun, fair and varied, from trimming tree branches and weeding to mulching and painting the fence. Leah is also a great cook and a kind, smart, funny and well travelled person. I can definitely recommend Leah as a host, she even let me stay a bit longer than planned so I could buy a car and get everything set up. Thanks again for everything!

Emil is a kind and caring person. He was helping us with boring tasks like painting the door inside. And he did excellent job! And what is more important he really got great connection with our girls ❤️ they loved playing with him and learning new things. We recommend Emily to anyone who likes easy going, kind and calm person being around and helping 😊

Aurore is an incredible person, she is trustworthy, proactive, full of energy and always willing to help. It was an amazing experience to have her at my place, she helped me endlessly, is happy and easy to communicate with and always does her tasks to to a very high standard. Her English is excellent and she really went out of her way to help me out in a difficult situation where I had another workawayer cancel at the last minute and I risked cancelling my family trip. She found a replacement person for me and also changed her plans to come back and supervise the new workawayers at the house while I was not there, producing a list of tasks and guidelines for what to do, especially with the needs of the dogs. Aurore has an amazingly big heart! By the way, excellent skills with animals and children too. If she asks to participate in your project do not hesitate to accept her! I have been hosting workawayers for 10 years and Aurore is definitely in my top 10%!! A positive and beautiful experience, thank you for everything Aurore xx

Grace was smiling all the time and she had real interest to help . She was punctual and respectful and happy to share about her culture. She was interested in learning everything. She is really so friendly and she left the place very tidy. My parents had only good things to say after her farewell.

I have done over 7 workaway in my life and this is by far my favourite. The work was enjoyable (painting a room, cutting wood with an electric saw etc). The views are breathtaking (you can even see the sea). Marilia has three wonderful dogs (I fell in love with Caju), and I went for regular works with them to the beach. Above all, however, Marilia is the kindest woman you'll ever meet. She always made sure I was ok, brought me cakes often and was extremely generous with the food. The house is so cosy and warm and I was fortunate enough to have the whole house to myself (people pay to use it for Airbnb so it's really nice). I imagine this is only possible during winter of course. Overall, if you want peace, tranquility, and a great experience, come here. Thank you Marilia for making my stay so wonderful. I will remember you and the experience with fondness.

It's enjoyable to engage in cross-cultural exchange and talk about each other's countries and ways of thinking. Also, the three hosts are from different countries and have a wealth of experience. We learn a lot from them every day. They welcome you with great kindness and warmth. We can stay here peacefully. The most memorable thing is that we can think deeply and communicate in our minds with kind hosts and other workawayers in a relaxed atmosphere. The place is surrounded by mountains, and we saw many beautiful views. Our host took us to many places, including mountains and villages. There are two dogs and two cats, and you can play with them in nature. We are truly grateful for their warm welcome and assistance. We highly recommend this place and experiences.

Very interesting and intelligent person. Communicative and hardworking. Although this is his first workaway experience, he has shown excellent skills in adapting to a new environment (our small community). He also knows how to cook delicious meals and does housework well.

We have had many fantastic workawayers but Emily was one of our all time favorites. She is strong, funny, hard working, positive, and a great cook. She literally cooked delicious food for me everyday, more than any workawayer has ever cooked. She taught me about different cuisine from around the world and was a really good sport with our overproduction of tomatoes. Sometimes I felt like she did my job even better than me. Emily was excellent in every area of help, had a good eye to see what needed to be done, and took initiative without needing to be asked. She went above and beyond our expectations, everyday, all day, giving us more than what we could have asked for. She even baked 3 different cakes for our daughter’s birthday, making it so special. Emily became a part of our family, and a very good friend. She is welcome here anytime and for as long as she likes. We all love her, kids and animals included, and we hope that she comes back to visit us again soon!
