Description
Ciao! We are a Sicilian family living in a big country house near the coast in Licata, Agrigento. We own almost 2 hectares of land and we would need help with its maintenance.
A few years ago the property was well cared; we made wine from our grapes, we had chickens, goats, pigs and two small garden and we organized some non-profit events in order to bring back to life some old sicilian dishes and techniques.
Our little goal is to try to be more self-sufficient as in the past, to waste as less as possible, to share our skills and traditions and of course to learn as much as we can from other people.

You will live in a close contact with nature, 5 minutes by car from the sea and 10 minutes from Licata center
( we go down to the center about 2\3 times per day ).
Experience the Sicilian countryside\seaside, the amazing food and the sun of course.
You will learn how to develop projects in the garden, how to use field equipment and live a simple lifestyle.
In your free time you could go around Sicily; the famous Agrigento valley of Temples is half an hour from us and there are trains to Palermo (2h30) Catania (1h 30) and other beautiful cities.
You can explore the ancient area around our house, the Spanish castle, Greek ruins...

Help
We mainly need help in the property with: taking care of the veggie garden and the dogs, wood tasks, some small construction\carpentry, fixing something (furniture ecc) in the house, general help around the house, cleaning and reorganizing a storage space...
We are looking for someone who likes physical activity, is independent and flexible( we can show you the tasks and join sometimes, but mostly we are working downtown) and likes to spend time in nature.
Everyone with motivation is welcome! We are really open to new projects and ideas!
We are not in a hurry to finish as soon as possible, on the contrary we will take our time to do tasks well without stress.
We will do tasks max. 4 hours per day, 5 days a week. Of course if you have some request we can rearrange free days and timetables.

Accommodation
We can host you in a big house, just in front of our home! During the summer and late autumn we rent it out for tourists, so please get in touch with us to fix the arrival/departure dates. Sometimes during the weekend we can eat together!
During the summer you are welcome to stay in the camping area in our small forest..

We work downtown almost all the week long, that's why we usually do a briefing on Weekends to organize the job for the week ( you will spend a lot of time alone, but we are happy to share as much as possible when we are home) :)
