What an incredible experience! This place has everything: surf, good company, daily volleyball, turtles, great food…! Truly a slice of paradise. You know it’s going to be an adventure when you need a boat and a horse ride to get there! I absolutely loved my time there and grew in ways I didn’t see coming. Made new friends with guests and staff and the work is truly fun. Can’t recommend it enough!

Abby and Connor were absolutely amazing workaway volunteers. Very responsible and attentive about everything. They came with very little knowledge about gardening, but left very experienced gardeners. Because they pay attention and learn everything the first time and really care about what they are doing. They are great team players and essentially became managers of my other volunteers, because they learned quickly and took responsibility. I trusted them. They came for one month but I asked them to stay longer. It ended up over three months. I would have them back in an instant. I'm sure we will stay in touch.

Le séjour de Tomo s'est très bien passé. Fidèle à sa culture asiatique, c'est une personne très respectueuse et sérieuse dans son travail. Elle s'est très rapidement intégrée aux habitudes de la maison et aux autres workawayers présents durant son séjour. Elle sait également profiter de toutes les occasions pour rigoler et prendre la vie du bon côté. Curieuse et n'ayant pas un tempérament peureux, je lui souhaite de continuer d'apprécier son voyage en Europe. Je recommande sans hésitation Tomo à ses futurs hôtes.

I spent nearly two weeks with Cara/Wim and their family, I felt very welcome from the first day, Each day was quite interesting; I learned a lot about horse care and doing tasks around the house, At the end of each day, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner together (the food at their house is really good). Everyone in the family is very kind and always very attentive to me. The tasks aren't complicated at all, and the schedules are usually flexible. I look forward to returning someday. :)

430 Working with Julio and Andrea was the most wonderful experience of 2025. We had a challenging year, but they arrived and filled the hostel with joy and love. They helped us make it feel like home and carried out all their tasks responsibly and lovingly. I hope many hosts are lucky enough to meet them during their travels. Five stars, without a doubt! :) Thank you for arriving as volunteers and leaving as friends. Los queremos muchísimo.

I only stayed for a short while since I figured it out pretty quickly that it wasn't what I wanted to do and so I'd like to apologize once more to Simon🙏. As for what to expect if you plan to do this Workaway experience.... I'd like to preface that I arrived at starts of January and was meant to stay the whole month but as expected of January in Italy, it was cold, very very cold (like -10 in the mornings) and sadly it was way too cold for me even with all my winter clothes and equipment. Also because of the cold, we didn't get any chance to go do any climbing or any restoring of routes and instead we went every morning from 9 to 16/17 (because obviously it was dark :p ) working on the building that Simon and his friends are fixing and furnishing. Then you head home with Simon in his apartment (which is really nice) and after eating together you head to bed ready for the next day. Now I'm sure if I stayed longer, we might have had the chance to climb once it got a little warmer but that was personally too much of a wait for me. Also I'd like to say that Simon only eats in teh morning and evening so do remember to bring some food or snacks with you to the site if you want to eat at midday too. Also there's WiFi and the house is warm and has a washing machine Simon did pay for the food we eat together but obviously if you want something only for yourself then you got to buy it. Once again thank you so much Simon for hosting me and I hope that the door fit the frame hahaha 😼✌️

I spent almost a month with Nika and Thomas at their beautiful finca in Villablanca. I felt at home from the first day. They were very attentive and kind the whole time, and I loved helping them with the olive harvest and making excellent oil. I also did some work in the vegetable garden, and on my days off, I visited Huelva and Seville. It's a very peaceful place surrounded by nature. They are quite self-sufficient, and I loved the food, especially Nika's soups, and the interesting conversations with her and Thomas at dinner. A very pleasant place.

It is a Beautiful guesthouse and Linda, the owner, is an amazing woman. I had the chance to meet beautiful people from all over the world, who became my sort of family during my stay. The volunteer job is well organized and it includes daily tasks with animals and with house cleaning, but it also involves, if of any interest, the opportunity to paint, make art, renovate, draw. I highly recommend it :) Thank you Linda

La experiencia con Rudy fue excelente, fue muy cercano con los niños y familias de la aldea, simpático y preocupado. Cumplió con creces la expectativa, gran y linda persona. Las personas de la aldea se encariñaron mucho con él. Muchas gracias por tu aporte en la escuela y en la comunidad.

Sina and Justine are a lovely couple, communicative, reliable, energetic and always in a good mood. They mainly helped us with the garden: pruning, unweeding and fixing the garden vegetable structure ready for the new season. Justin also helped with laying a concrete slab. They can work independently and take initiative which was great for us. We had a lovely time with them, they cooked us a delicious meal and made the most of their time in the area. You are welcome back whenever you want 😀

Hope was a pleasure to host. As a volunteer, she is proactive- taking task further than requested, although never making assumptions without checking with us. She accomplished every task we set her to with efficiency and attention to detail. Not only that, she is a very pleasant, courteous, trustworthy, good-hearted person. 5 stars, and if she asks to come volunteer for you, you'll be glad she did.

After seven years of hosting on Workaway, we have had many wonderful experiences with different volunteers, but the three weeks with Punit were something very special. Just a few minutes after picking him up from the bus, we were already in a great conversation, which continued throughout his stay. Punit is a very open-minded person with many thoughtful perspectives on life. We talked about religion, politics, different cultures, family habits, and many other interesting topics. There was always something to talk about, and Punit has a lot of knowledge about many subjects. For our Christmas dinner, he prepared a delicious menu with great passion and love. He spent the whole day in the kitchen, and every guest was very happy with the different dishes. During the rest of his stay, he also introduced us to many new and wonderful Indian meals. Since it was the holiday season, I had the chance to take him on two hikes on the beautiful Buchberg and to show him a traditional Perchtenhoagascht. He also experienced visiting a sauna for the first time in his life. We are truly grateful that he spent these three weeks with us, and I can fully recommend him to any household that is open to Indian food and enjoys sharing daily life with an interesting and thoughtful person.

This was my first experience with workaway and I had very nice time in this peaceful place ( living in the cozy yurts and warm kichen place surrounded by the forest and sounds of the rivers ). First week we harvest a olives in traditional methods , and I really enjoyed give a help with this job . The other tasks was a replacement of the old roof works which wood also on traditional metod- I like this very much. We stayed at Sonya's for 10 days over the Christmas holidays, to accompany and care for Bruno and Molly while Sonya was away visiting family. We are very thankful to be able to pass Christmas in a peaceful and quiet village surrounded by vineyards, hills and nature. Bruno is a very sweet boy and really loves our company. He is always curious about what we were up to and would follow along whenever we were out in the garden chopping wood, sweeping leaves or just soaking in some sunshine. Molly is very chatty and will let you know exactly what she wants. She is pretty independent but also enjoyed spending time with us. The 4 of us spent most of the day together, either keeping warm in the kitchen by the wood stove or sleeping in the same room/bed together! It was definitely very cosy and tranquil, a great respite from city life. As we arrived a few days earlier, we had about 3-4 days with Sonya before her flight. Sonya has a very calming presence, is very open minded, active, and has lots of interesting life stories and experiences to share. She made dinner for us a few times and always had time for conversation over a cup of tea before we each proceeded on with our day and activities. We are very glad to have met Sonya and share a precious little moment in time. Thank you for the trust in us to look after your house, Bruno and Molly!

E stato bellissimo essere con Mario :) abbiamo mangiato un sacco di buone cose dal giardino e Mario cucina molto bene! E stato un vero piacere discutere con lui, è interessato a molte cose, conosce un sacco di film e libri e ha molto umorismo. Ero da lui con un altra ragazza che ho incontrata qua e Mario ci ha fatto visitare il volcano, abbiamo fatto Kayak intorno a Strombolicchio e abbiamo visto qualche film insieme. Grazie per tutto!

We spent two weeks here between Christmas and New Year’s. To begin with, the place is located in the middle of a valley rich in history and incredible waterfalls to explore. Not only is the property charming and very well cared for, but it also offers spaces that cater to many different interests: from the vegetable garden to yoga, medicinal plants and mushrooms, cooking, and art, including a very well-stocked library that encourages you to satisfy any curiosity on these topics. Gianna and Sergio have created a beautiful project, as well as a wonderful family, and they are genuinely happy to share it with those who come. Our experience is a great example: when we arrived, the family had just been in an accident, but despite that they welcomed us with open arms and included us in every holiday dinner, making us truly feel at home. Thank you for letting us experience our first Christmas away from home in such a warm, family-like environment! The friends and artists who are residents at the lodge and whom you can meet every day in the workshop further enrich the experience and the opportunities for exchange. The accommodation is also excellent: a private little house with all the comforts (private bathroom, shower, and kitchen), plus a very sweet guard dog who watched over us the entire time. Finally, the work was not very demanding, considering that there were no guests at that time and it was mostly simple maintenance. Gianna and Sergio are cosmopolitan people who enjoy hearing different languages spoken and sharing knowledge. It’s a pity we didn’t have time to make pizza in the wood-fired oven—but that will be for next time!

Enzo was an excellent volunteer. He was very kind, easy to get along with, and a very hard worker. He always completed his tasks, keep his accommodation clean, and he took care of my cat Cali as if she were his. He even got her a Christmas gift. I would highly recommend Enzo as a volunteer. He is welcome back here anytime!
