    Description

We are a swiss/german family, Nika (52) Thomas (60) with the children Werner (20) and Clara (18) , who are leaving our house this year ( 2019) to go to the university. After sailing 3 years our journey stopped 2000 in Andalusia. We are living on a 20.000 m2 plot near the portugese boarder 15 min by car to the beach outside of a 2500 habitants village. With our permaculture gardening we try to produce as much food as possible. Nika does also homopathy and gives classes of german for locals and Thomas runs a little company fitting any type of solar energy and central heatingworking together with a young man from the village
Apart of the patrol for the cars and the gas for cooking (one of the next projects) we are producing all our energy. What we really would like to do, is increase our perma culture project.
This year our children will leave our house to go to university. So now we are looking for people/ familys who would like to stay long time with us.
We prefer people without animals, because we already have our own Zoo, with three donkeys chickens and cocorels, which we sometimes kill for having our own meet ( this is a informacion for vegan people, we have eggs every day and in little ocasions meet), than we have 2 dogs living only outside and 4 cats, living also with us inside the house...this is an information for people with allergies against cats!
It is important for us that you are able to work independent sometimes and that your eyes are able to see the work which is needed.

As we all speak 4 languages fluently, french less fluent, we can practice them with our Workawayers (mainly we do it during the meals). In the village they are already used to see volunteers from all over the world and they like to talk to them, because people here are very curious...
Apart of this we always try to show our Workaways the cultural things in the area, like romeria, music festivals, salina, expositions, concerts, medieval festivals etc.

We are more interested in longterm workaways. Up to now we had one women for one year, one men for 1/2 year and in this moment nov 2022) a mother with 10 year old girl is living in her second year with us.
Mainly we are looking for help with the gardening ,the animals and we always have some projects going on, like building highbeds, or making a solar dryer, and there is also always something to fix or rebuild. And as we like to taste new flavers, maybe cooking some times. It is depending also from the interest and skills of the people coming to us. We are very open for new ideas, in the autum after the first rain we can do swales for retain the rain water, a little bio gas system for to cook for excample
