My feeling was good from our first contact. By phone Terezia asked me some questions that were well thought about. That was important because to come a long way with partner and 2 little children you want to know if the place can be suitable and be able to prepare the journey and staying.The most contact was with her since she was the one from the family who spoke the most English, but actually Lucas had a big vocabulaire in English as well and by the time they left even Jonas (5) was able to communicate in English. The family was very trustworthy and they took the tasks and jobs very serious. It was a variety of jobs spread over more then 3 months. From cracking nuts, to cut wood, planting, weeding, making a little fence, wiping leaves, mulching,helping to digging and repair water channels and more. The both kids were amazing . I felt a bit insecure about this because it was the first time to receive Workaway as a family. LUckelyb I had hang a swing already and there is a trampoline. It worked out the place is very suitable for kids and they loved it. We had several cosy meals together, sometimes at the fire pit and sometimes in the yurt, but they had there private family life as well. Very brave to come from so far and to deal with difficult situations as the land flooded, leaks because of the enormous amount of rain that fell, and physical complications. We managed them all together and became quit close towards the end . It was a precious time.

I had an incredible time at Ingrid’s place. Ingrid was very welcoming along my stay and I couldn’t imagine a better place to start my work away experience. During my stay I can’t confirm the prior experience of having to much hard work to do. It was absolutely manageable and because I was the only workawayer Ingrid helped me whenever it was necessary and was always reachable. What I can confirm is the rumours are true: Ingrids horses are truly amazing (I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with them) as Ingrid herself. She truly is a character herself and is really kindhearted, humorous and inspiring. I enjoyed the time we spend together. She even took me on a road trip Czechia and reminded me to take my off days and was really helpful on planing my day trip. I really would love to come back sometime and really can recommend everyone to stay at Ingrid’s. But as always communication is key so if something is boarding you just tell Ingrid, she won’t mind. At least that’s my experience ;)

Nick is a very nice and friendly person. easy going and picks up on things fast and doesnt mind trying and getting dirty.

Sandra stayed with us here for about 2 weeks and it was a real pleasure. She was happy with the "studio" she stayed in and did several jobs. From planting yucas and seeding , till pulling lots of olive branches to a fire pit and help me to cut some fabrics on a rainy day. Beside that there was enough time for here to explore a bit the Alpujarras. It was lovely having her and good company! She took initiative and made some good proposals as well. It was very convenient for her to be here with a car and for me as well! We had a great day going out together to a beautiful meeting on the beach.

I'm so pleased to have met Riccardo and Veronica. They have been the most inspiring helpers we've ever had, coming up with many amazing ideas. They are very creative and motivated to contribute. I feel we have developed a great friendship also and will welcome their return.

I spent a full month at the reserve, and it was my first really great Workaway experience. The team of other volunteers was awesome, and after about a week of showing us the ropes, Carlos trusted us to work independently. We usually worked in the mornings, and since I was there in summer, we mainly focused on marking out trails. In the afternoons, the vibe at the house was super warm and relaxed, and there was plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful mountain landscapes all around. It’s the kind of stay you really want to experience fully, being mindful of nature and the remoteness of the place.The absolute highlight of the stay was one day when Carlos took us kayaking on a lake, to a birdwatching spot, and to meet the local Mapuche chief. All that’s left now is to get in touch with Carlos if it feels like a good fit for you—and send him a short video introduction ;)

Our experience with Angela and Ray was wonderful. From the very first moment we felt welcome; we immediately felt at home there... the cabin is brand new, set in a natural setting where peace reigns and the sound of birdsong woke us up every morning. They were clear from the start about the work to be done; we really appreciated their flexibility and the lunches we shared together. The icing on the cake was the experience in a cosy Irish pub; we would recommend a stay with them to anyone seeking an authentic experience in harmony with nature and wishing to receive a warm welcome. It was a great experience hosting Angelina and Antoine, two big hearted fun people who are also very hard working.They took excellent photos and posted them on my profile.They have great marketing skills and knew exactly what to do to promote my business.They gave 200 percent into this project so i am very grateful to them for that.They have a great sense of humor and we had fun visiting the cool bars here.I highly recommend them to any hosts out there, and i hope they will visit me again.Thanks for everything guys all the best Dermot

I can’t say enough good things about this work away! The work was as described; hanging out flyers in town and setting up for events, hosting welcome drinks for the new hostel arrivals, and fostering a social atmosphere. The beach tour on Sunday is the longest day but ALWAYS enjoyable. I loved the little team of workawayers, you’re never working alone, and Galen is such a sweet and attentive host! In addition, the location and the facilities you have access to are absolutely beautiful. 10/10, couldn’t ask for more. Gracias a todos!!!

had such an amazing time here last october. was a great vibe, enjoyed the work and pure is an amazing cook :)) enjoyed harvesting vegetables and building a bamboo door. loved playing table tennis - even though pure would always win. went swimming in the pond, playing games with everyone and going on trips to see the temple and then chiang rai. hitch hiking back to chiang mai was also a great experience.

We stayed with Caroline for a week, and had a great time. Caroline leads a very slow life with her two dogs and two cats. She gave us our space, but also loved a good chat and to share meals. She is open to trying all kinds of foods, which was perfect for vegans like us, and we got to exchange culinary experience with her. She welcomed us into her daily routine. We shared many teapots and a lot of conversation with her, as she is a great conversationalist. She gave us a lot of freedom and let us choose our tasks based off of our skills, which included cooking, dog walking, and working in her garden. Our favourite project was building a little hut/structure from bamboo in the garden. Caroline taught us about her passion for indigo dying and showed us her atelier. The dogs are adorable and well trained, but they can be very energetic. We will miss them. The cats are very cuddly. The town, Targon, which is only an hour long bus ride away from Bordeaux, is very quiet, so if you want to walk around it's very nice and relaxed. For city people who live very busy lifes like us this was a nice escape amongst the vineyards and the farms. Overall, we felt very lucky to be so welcomed into Caroline's life and warmly decorated home. This was the perfect first workaway experience for us. Warmly, Meia and Raidan

I had a very pleasant stay at Kerry and Philippe's place. I was ther for 5 weeks. They are cool and easy going, and make tasty food :) Not to forget little Lobo such a cute dog. I can definitely recommend a stay there

I was looking for a nice, beautiful and relaxing place to spend the winter in Greece, which is everything I found with Christian and his place. I enjoyed working in the garden and painting with the help of the cats and learnt new skills when we built the new studio. Work is only in the morning so you have all afternoons to enjoy the place and discover Milos, Christian knows everything about the island and gives great advice on where to go ! Thank you Christian for this wonderful experience :)

What can I say, this was my first Workaway stay and it was amazing. Christian, you are a kind, generous and easygoing person. Thank you for making my time in Milos a good memory. You live in a very beautiful place. Maybe one day I will have the opportunity to come back and visit again. I hope so. I hope you have a very busy summer season. Francesco & Giulia stayed with us at our home in Cork for 12 days, 5 of those taking care of the property, cats and working at jobs we agreed for them to do while we were away. Firstly they were an absolute delight to have around, always positive and always engaging with lots of energy and good humour. We shared meals, stories and swapped Irish and Italian sayings, their English being much better than our Italian. 90% of the work was outdoors in our garden - clearing moss and weeds, helping Ray with a project that involved a lot of digging and wheelbarrow work with stone, clearing out a polytunnel which they did when we were away. They were very capable and able to take the initiative. They stayed in our log cabin for the duration and they followed our instructions and left it very clean and tidy. I would highly recommend both Francesco and Giulia to any potential host. They are responsible, capable and will bring plenty of light to any home. Meine 4 Wochen in Bouzerat bei Luka, Aurelién, Octave, Sirius und Arcadia waren sehr abwechslungsreich. Ich habe viel gekocht und mich um die Küche gekümmert und hatte auch oft die Ehre, mit Arcadia spazieren zu gehen oder mich anderweitig mit den Kindern zu beschäftigen. Die drei sind sehr unterschiedlich, aber alle wunderbar. In meiner Freizeit, habe ich die tolle Natur genossen. Fast jeden Tag konnte ich spazieren gehen und habe dabei soooo viele Strecken, Wege und kleine Routen entdeckt, die absolut atemberaubend waren. Große Empfehlung für Naturliebhaber!! Nach Brioude oder in andere naheliegende Städte konnte ich freundlicherweise mit den Eltern oder Oma Mira fahren. Da kein Bus nach Bouzerat kommt, war das die einzige Möglichkeit, in die Stadt zu kommen. Oftmals habe ich den großen Trubel der Städte aber gar nicht gebraucht und mich gefreut, meine Zeit in Bouzerat zu verbringen. Eigentlich war der Plan, dass ich mit dem Auto der Familie hätte fahren können, leider ging das dann doch nicht. Es wurde sehr viel Wert darauf gelegt, dass genau 25h pro Woche gearbeitet werden, was mit einer Liste festgehalten wurde. Dadurch dass die Arbeitszeit so genau festgehalten wurde, hat es sich gelegentlich mehr wie eine Arbeits- statt einer Familienbeziehung angefühlt. Sehr gerne saß ich mit allen gemeinsam am Abendbrotstisch und habe das Familienleben mitbekommen. An einem Tag ist Aurelién nach Lyon gefahren und war so lieb, mich mitzunehmen. Ich konnte einen tollen Tag in der Stadt verbringen (Free Walking Tour empfehlenswert!!) und abends gemeinsam mit Aurelién ins Theater gehen. Mit Luka habe ich auch viele tolle Stunden verbracht. Mit ihr zu reden hat sich immer sehr vertraut, sicher und ehrlich angefühlt. Außerdem habe ich ihr ein paar mal die Haare geflochten, was sich seeeeeehr nach Girlhood anfühlte! Außerdem war es toll, dass ich meine Wäsche zu der der Familie legen durfte und Luka alles gemeinsam gewaschen hat. Ich bin sehr froh, meine erste Workaway-Ehrfahrung bei der Familie gemacht haben zu dürfen und werde jeden einzelnen für immer in meinem Herzen behalten. Und natürlich die tollen Crêpes, die es sehr oft gab! PS: Die Komposttoilette draußen werde ich vermissen! Es war unerwarteter Weise immer total cool und hat sich sehr frei angefühlt, so zur Toilette zu gehen.

My stay in Argenta was so full of learning, sharing, and good food 🤣! It was my first time doing a Workaway on a farm, so I really had no experience, but Ulie, the teacher, was very patient and taught me so much! The tasks aren’t very complicated, but you have to stay focused all the time (😉). The house is very cozy, and you immediately feel right at home! Ulie and Sean are funny, interesting, and curious—there are so many words to describe them, but the best thing is to go there yourself to understand, haha! I forgot to mention Ludwig (the dog), who obviously has all those qualities too—no one’s left out! The location of the house offers plenty of hiking opportunities, especially the trail to the two viewpoints, which is a pleasant walk during lunch break to walk the dog and help with digestion! Speaking of digestion, the homemade products are delicious, especially the pâté, jam, various pickles, and mayonnaise! I’d also add that Ulie is an excellent cook and always comes up with different recipes every night, even if it’s just the same winter vegetable. The space for Workaway volunteers offers all the comfort and warmth you need! Oh, and there are also movie nights, spa days, tea time—in short, don’t hesitate, just go for it! We also have plenty of time to pursue our hobbies, like writing, drawing, or other activities, after the workday, and they’re pretty flexible ! There were also cultural outings with Sean in the village center—oh my, so many things and stories! Thank you so much for this past month spent with your little family and for everything we shared!
