Description
We are a family of four – two adults and two children (5 and 2 years old) – on a journey to find our own path to living happily, peacefully, and, most importantly, together. We are passionate gardeners, creating a permaculture-based garden around our home in Slovakia, where we also keep chickens and quail.
Before having children, we worked together on a farm, caring for a wide variety of animals – milking 15 goats and 2 cows, tending to 300 chickens, looking after cats, dogs, sheep, donkeys, and horses. These experiences have given us a deep understanding of animal care and a genuine respect for all living beings.
We value a respectful and non-violent approach, both towards animals and children, and seek environments where children are free to be themselves. Our dream is to spend the Slovak winter somewhere in the south of Europe, continuing the outdoor work we love – caring for animals, tending gardens, and living close to nature.
Ideally we are looking for a place with private family accommodation, as this helps us balance family life and work. We completely understand that every place is different, so we are open to discussing what could work best.
Husband is smoker (outdoor only)

More details about your skills
We are a practical, hands-on family with a wide range of skills useful for both home and farm life.
We have experience with animal care – chickens, quails, goats, cats, dogs, and horses – and know how to keep them healthy, well-fed, and comfortable. Gardening is our passion; at home we grow our own vegetables and fruit, and we enjoy creating permaculture-style beds to work with nature, not against it.
We are confident with many DIY and repair tasks. From building wooden chicken coops to any other projects. We are reliable, and quick to learn new skills.
Cooking is also part of our everyday life – especially healthy vegetarian meals made from fresh produce. Preserving our harvest is an important part of our lifestyle – we prepare homemade jams, compotes, and other preserves to make the most of the season’s bounty. We love being outdoors, whether it’s gardening, repairing fences, planting trees, or maintaining green spaces.

What else ...
We travel as a family – 2 adults and 2 children (5 and 2 years old). We would like to find a place where it’s not a problem that one of us may need to be available for our children when they need it.
