I had a wonderful time helping in the garden and some indoor projects over three weeks. Everyone was friendly, very welcoming and made me feel instantly at home, thank you for putting up with my limited French! Food was fresh and local with lots of homemade bread and pickles and cheese from the nearby laiterie. Everyday I worked with a different person on some part of the house or garden depending on who was available, maintaining or building something new. Truly a great place to disconnect, work with your hands and have a view of the alps in the distance. I hope I can return again someday, maybe when it’s a bit less rainy…

Hi! I am volunteering at Roger’s place — he is a very welcoming host who wants you to feel comfortable and is also a pretty good cook 🙃 You will have your own space for volunteers with a kitchen, bathroom, and separate bedrooms. Just behind the house, there is a mountain, and it's about a 45-minute walk to the sea (you could also take a bike). You will have plenty of time to enjoy the local way of living — the place is located on a quiet street but very near the town center. I hope you will find different ways to enjoy your stay!

It's been a pleasure to host Elizabeth in our farm in the Dolomites, we spent great moments together both working and having fun !! She has Italian origins and managed to meet some of her relatives here, and even seeing the place where her grandparents used to live !! She's been lovely with our kids and with our newborn and we hope to meet her again in Italy or in Canada !!

In the Top-3 experience with guests: Anaya and Francis were amazing guests; always smiling, willing to help, very respectful; engaged in their work, showing interest in the history of the place. I enjoyed our conversations, it was a pleasure to meet them. They were keen to learn and were always doing an extra mile to get the things well-done. I really appreciated their company. Highly recommended!

Relaxed and very friendly guy, always respectful and polite. We were very happy to get some help with renovating an old board and preparing and cleaning the garden for spring. Absolutley recommendable!

I don't even know where to start!!! Celia and Hugh are such wonderful people and made me feel sooo welcome at their place. The new house is wonderful and I feel so lucky, that I got to be a part of the "moving-in" process and meet some of their amazong friends and family!!! Hugh has some great storys to tell and is a very hard worker - oh and Celia is an amazing chef and makes the BEST fruitbars I ever tried! And both of them are just wonderful people who try to help you in every way!!!

What an experience! I am forever grateful for my time here, I've grown so much since the start of my volunteer placement, and watching the residents grow (and move on) is just one of the many highlights. Everything you need is provided, including a membership with puregym which i regretably didnt use as much as i should of (lazy). You get lots of time to explore the city or just stay in the surrounding neighbourhood, the beach being a 2min walk and The Pitt is a gorgeous venue hosting raves, markets etc with a Sauna attached! I initially was unsure about having to share accomodation but the cabins are so cosy and your room is completely private for down time when you need it, plus if you get on well with your housemate you can have an amazing communal experience spending time doing activites together. Most importantly: this was such a lovely space for me as the first volunteer to come with a dog! Staff were so accomodating and the residents loved having Leo as their own free therapy dog. Some residents have their own dogs and so its important if youre coming with a dog that you have proper control and they are safe/trusted when meeting new people. Plus, sometimes you will be required to attend training and that results in leaving your dog 5-6 hours during the day as you travel to, attend and then travel back. Its just an important aspect to consider. Overall, I had such an amazing and memorable time, especially as my first time in Scotland, and I hope I may have the opportunity to return again to this community or one of the other communities. <3

We had the opportunity to spend a week at the beginning of march in the beautiful field (and private apartment) of Tobias in Kalamata. We can only recommand Tobias : We had a wonderful time with him, working in the field, always a joyful and careful energy, but also visiting the region and tasting amazing fruits from the garden. Tobias is a passionated and mindful person that we definitely hope to meet again in this paradise.

I spent three days with Aktam and his family, and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my time in Uzbekistan. His village is just about 1.5 hours from Samarkand and offers a truly local experience that is very different from typical travel! Aktam is a wonderful person with a great sense of humor who truly values human connection. I respect him not only as a mathematics teacher, but also as a father and a host. During my stay, he made a genuine effort to help me experience village life as fully as possible. Some of the highlights were eating homemade plov with the family, joining classes at the Ishitexon English school, playing volleyball with his children, and even participating in a class at the village school. Spending time with his children, who are kind, intelligent, and very sweet was also a special part of the experience. These moments allowed me to see the local education system and everyday life in the village from the inside, which made the stay very meaningful. The living conditions are quite simple. During my stay, the shower was not available, the Wi-Fi connection was limited, and the toilet is located outside the house some distance away. It’s helpful to know this in advance. Because of this, it may not be the best place for a long stay if you need stable internet or modern facilities. However, for two or three nights, it is definitely a valuable opportunity to experience authentic village life in Uzbekistan...!!! I’m truly grateful to Aktam and his family for welcoming me and sharing such unique experiences with me. Thank you so much! I already miss you and your family!

A quiet and beautiful place to step away from the noise of the world. Peace, silence, and space to breathe. I spent two months here, and it did wonders for both my mental and physical health. Aniek is a wonderful, relaxed host, and Panda (the dog) is a great companion to have around. Thank you, Aniek, for your kindness and for letting me stay here, and thank you, Panda, for the company along the way. Wishing you both all the best for the future.

I had the great pleasure of hosting Helene. She's an excellent cook, super funny and friendly, and always has a smile on her face. She was a big help with the animals, and earned the love and trust of my nervous little pup in no time. The dogs adored her; she has some sort of doggie magnetism! Helene was super fun to hang out with and we took a number of outings, she opened my world to Burmese food (yum!), and was a great workawayer in every respect. I hope one day to be able to visit her in home country of Burma.

We spent one week at Sergiu's farm in November/December, mostly helping with bottling and with work on his soon-to-be bed and breakfast. Sergiu and his wife Oksana fed us delicious Moldovan food after a hard day's work (and a lovely lunch during the workdays). They were extremely accommodating, and made sure we had everything we needed in the house we had to ourselves, including raw milk from a local farmer. The work was hard, but rewarding, and we learned a lot about wine, how small vineyards operate, and how delicious natural grapes and wine are! It was our favorite part of our three weeks in Moldova. We would recommend Sergiu and Oksana's place to anyone wishing to spend time in Moldova, and we hope to return one day in a different season to learn more from you and catch up :)

Linn is travelling with her friend Nour, who stayed with us before to help with the puppies, so I invited them both to do some house/petsitting. My plans were to travel abroad, but an unforeseen family crisis forced me to stay home. Linn and Nour were very helpful, not only taking care of the dogs, but also cooking family meals and helping out where they could. They were both very supportive during a difficult time, and nice people to have around. In the two weeks they stayed with us, they travelled on multiple day trips with great independence, adjusting to the Flemish lifestyle, hopping on a bike to catch a train and enjoying it.

I had an incredible 2-week stay with Christian and Karina. The off-grid systems they've built-including the irrigation, water, and electricity-are truly impressive. Everything was so seamless and comfortable that I wouldn't have even known it was off-grid if they hadn't told me. As part of my help, I got to set up a garden bed. It was my first time doing anything like that, and it was a great learning experience. Above all, I was deeply inspired by their hospitality and their philosophy of enjoying every single day. From the natural hot springs under the full moon to the amazing hikes, they helped me experience the very best of the area. I'm so grateful for everything. Good luck with all your future plans and the new property-I'm sure they'll be a great success!

Lea stayed with us for three weeks and was a great volunteer during her time here. She helped with many different tasks and handled hard work without any problem. She was especially helpful with chopping and stacking wood and was always ready to jump in wherever help was needed. She also helped a lot around the house with cleaning, organizing, and tackling small projects that needed to get done. On top of that, she took great care of the animals (she can handle horses without issues) and built a very special bond with Max, which really says a lot about the kind of person she is. Always cheerful and with a smile on her face, she was proactive and constantly looking for ways to help. She's also very easy and fun to be around, and we had many great conversations during her stay. It was a real pleasure having you here at home. You will be missed.

Andrea was a wonderful guest and volunteer, even though her stay with us was short. It was truly a pleasure to host her. I especially enjoyed the excellent private yoga classes she shared, as well as the incredible Thai and Indian gourmet meals she prepared — both were a real highlight of her time here. Beyond that, Andrea brought great energy and positivity to the project. We had many meaningful conversations, she helped with jungle clearing work, assisted with feeding wildlife, and generally contributed a beautiful "joie de vivre" to the place. Thank you Andrea for your time, your kindness, and the great spirit you brought with you. You are always welcome back.
