    Description

I love the peaceful, off-grid lifestyle here surrounded by nature—it's a perfect place to disconnect, recharge, and learn new skills. The area has rivers, forests, and wildlife, and it's a great spot for anyone who enjoys simple living. It's just me working on this project, but I'm always happy to share the experience and welcome anyone who wants to lend a hand and be part of the journey.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

At my place, Workawayers will experience a truly off-grid lifestyle surrounded by nature. We often share meals, stories, and ideas, creating a relaxed, communal atmosphere. There's plenty of opportunity to connect—not just with me, but with neighbors and locals when we go into town for supplies or to explore nearby spots.

I can share practical skills like basic construction, working with natural and reclaimed materials, and the principles of building sustainably in the tropics. In return, I’m always excited to learn from different cultural perspectives—whether it’s about food, language, traditions, or new approaches to problem-solving.

It’s a mutual exchange that’s about more than just work—it’s about building friendships, sharing knowledge, and creating something meaningful together.

  • Help

    Help

Workawayers will be helping with a variety of off-grid building projects—things like light construction, landscaping, and general upkeep around the property. No advanced skills are necessary, just a good attitude and a willingness to learn. We’ll be working side by side most of the time, so it’s a great chance to share knowledge and learn new skills together. Whether it’s using tools, setting up simple systems, or getting creative with materials, there’s always something interesting to do.

    Accommodation

I offer a private room in a modern apartment building located in the center of town, just steps away from shops, cafés, and local amenities. It’s a clean, secure, and comfortable space where you can relax after a day of hands-on work.

The off-grid build site is a short and scenic drive away, and we usually commute there together. You'll have access to a shared kitchen, bathroom, and common areas in the apartment.

Meals are often prepared together or shared casually—depending on the day and everyone's schedule. I provide groceries, and we can work around any dietary needs you may have.

This setup offers the best of both worlds: the comfort and convenience of city living, with the adventure and creativity of working on an off-grid project surrounded by nature.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

On your time off, there’s plenty to explore—local beaches, waterfalls, hot springs, and hiking trails are all within easy reach. The town itself has a friendly vibe with markets, cafés, and events that are great for meeting people and soaking in the local culture.

I live a fairly relaxed, minimalist lifestyle and try to keep things tidy and respectful. No hard rules, just a shared sense of care for the space and the people in it.

I have a car and usually handle transport to and from the build site, but there are also buses and taxis if you want to go exploring on your own. Just ask and I’ll help you figure things out.

Digital nomads are welcome! The accommodation includes high-speed Wi-Fi and a comfortable private room, making it easy to get work done during your own time. The daily help at the off-grid site is flexible—usually just a few hours in the morning—so there’s plenty of time left in the day for remote work, personal projects, or exploring the area. I totally understand the balance and am happy to work around your schedule.
