It is not an easy task to write a review that would tell you something new after more than twenty people have praised this place. I won't reiterate that all the animals here are absolutely lovely, that Alberto cooks the best food in the world, and that the community here is really inspiring. It has all been mentioned already, so feel free to read the other reviews too. Instead, I would like to take a different approach and switch the roles for a moment. When a volunteer leaves, our host Raúl usually shares his thoughts and experiences with the person, which creates a beautiful memory anytime you come back to read it. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to write a personal letter for you, Raúl. First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude for gifting me and all the others with the amazing opportunity to work on your project. You're doing a great service for the animals and the whole community. Your dream exceeds just the mere aid to the ones in need because I believe that you have a deeply rooted passion to cultivate a brighter future for every living being. And although your ideas and plans could easily span over several lifetimes, knowing your dedication to the project, I have no doubt that there will be a day when you look around and you'll be proud that all your dreams finally came true. And we will be proud of you. Hence, I am extremely grateful that I could help you to get closer to your goal, and I can't wait to see all the progress when I return. This project feels like home to me. And I couldn't have wished for more. During my first days, I remember you assembled a meeting, and I was worried that something was wrong. Perhaps that we hadn't met your expectations or that we should have started working longer hours. Instead, you were simply trying to bring us closer together and create a stronger sense of community. At that moment, I realized that you were unlike any other host that I've encountered. If I didn't know who you were, I would probably confuse you with just another volunteer. You always worked alongside us and spent your time with the community. I've discovered that we have a lot in common, and I can truly relate to your life story, and that's probably why you've become one of my best friends. You also genuinely cared about me. When we were together and a rock crushed my finger or when I dislocated my shoulder on another occasion, I could feel a sincere concern in your voice, and you immediately took action to assist me. I also appreciate that you acknowledged my chronic conditions, and you didn't let me do heavy physical work despite my stubbornness. I would rather break my back than leaving the heavy work for others, but fortunately, we managed to find a more suitable role for me in this project. So thank you very much for that. I have also recollected our adventures, which yielded a really extensive list because you same as me, are not afraid to say Yes to all crazy ideas. Since the first day, we started meeting at 5 am to do our morning routines – meditation, breathing exercise, rehabilitation, workout, running, cold plunge, and sometimes a fire after. Thank you for keeping me motivated and staying disciplined. We also did many sports like football, basketball, volleyball, or kickboxing. We went on hikes with the dogs and slept in a cave where we built furniture from stones. You taught me about things to eat in the wilderness, including flowers and grass or leaves and rocks. We've done creative activities too like designing a board game, inventing games with rocks, jamming, learning with the loop station, or shooting videos. For fun, we organized weekend activities, gatherings, morning raves, and parties. We enjoyed our free time by playing board games or on a Play Station, watching UFC in the middle of the night, swimming with Pili in the pool, having water gun fights, making fires, and so many more. So for the thousandth time, thank you so much for everything. Have a wonderful time while I am gone, and I wish you the best of luck with the project. All the love, all the power. We met Peter beginning of last year. Since that time,he came back 5 times. He is a kind hearted man, a lot of fun and one of the nicest human beings we ever met. He helped us a lot with our horses, dogs and pigs. He loves to cook, and he is really good at it! So all I can say, if you want a perfect workawayer, go for Peter!

I want to sincerely thank Orsolya and family for her kindness in offering me the opportunity to participate in her volunteering propusal at her apartament house near Lake Balaton. Although I had to decline, I would like to highlight her kindness in aswering to my request and her promptness in doing so. Very clear explanation about volunteering. This was my first experience with Workaway and I can highly recommend staying with Crystal. She is one of those people that brought magic into my life. She has a wonderful way of communicating and sharing her life and experience. Her dog Aries is adorable and the best walking campagnion. I was literally in tears when I had to leave and I will do everything possible to come back.

Beautiful eco-farm, so peaceful and relax ! We stay only a week, but we could stay a month ! We did permaculture, trees cleaning and building a safe garden to Costa, the escaping cutest pig ! We really love the concept, the bio toilet, kitchen, water management and solar power are great Nuno is a super kind person, and we wish you the best with your project and definitely come back to see you Thanks for hosting us

Nuestro tiempo en este Hostal fue tan mágico y especial que nunca lo olvidaremos. Tuvimos un increíble equipo de voluntarios con quienes compartimos las tareas diarias de limpieza, hacer camas, socializar con los invitados, jardinería, arreglos y proyectos de arte. El trabajo fue fácil y mejoramos mucho nuestro español ya que ese era el idioma principal que se hablaba. El Hostal cuenta con una excelente ubicación para nadar en el río, supermercados en pueblos vecinos y realizar caminatas o tours de pisco. Tuvimos tiempo libre más que suficiente para explorar todos los alrededores. Es realmente tranquilo, perfecto para relajarse y disfrutar de la naturaleza, pero también puedes pasar un rato divertido con amigos por la noche. Todas las noches observamos el increíble cielo nocturno con la Vía Láctea y sus constelaciones como nunca antes lo habíamos visto. Recomendaríamos esta experiencia 100% si quieres conocer la vida en este increíble valle.

I do not know who was happiest with Lenka, the garden or I . We both really enjoyed having Lenka at our place. The knowledge Lenka have about gardening is amazing. Lenka is good person for a good tolk on many subjects.. and a good laugh. I do hope Lenka will come back one day.. she more then welcome. The garden mis her already.

Samantha and Martin are very open, genuine, kind, and interesting people working on such a cool project! When I was there last September, they were working on the entrance area, and I helped paint. We harvested fruit and vegetables in the garden (which is gorgeous) and pulled out weeds. They included me when they had friends over or visited friends. The area is stunning and the factory is a very special place. Samantha speaks good English and Martin always made sure to speak slowly and phrase things with words I could understand. They way they live life is inspiring and you will learn a lot from them! I recommend staying with them, they are great hosts!

In April on my visit to my homeland and parents I discovered Tudor although I did not stay as a volunteer I managed to spend 3 days with him. We did a hike, talked a lot and made a wooden bridge. He is a wonderful person a great communicator the right person to have a deep conversation with. He is on a mission to create an intentional community. I am very excited for his plans and will continue to support the project.

Bianca & Vinicius worked with me for 3 weeks in March/ April. Very nice couple. Vinicius helped me with power washing, cleaning, construction jobs, well able to work under his own direction. Bianca helped with cleaning & painting. I would recommend them and will probably have them back if they want to return

C est un bonheur de connaître Gabriella. Elle est vraiment une belle personne. Elle s adapte très vite et elle est très bienveillante. Curieuse, elle a un sourire de gentillesse. Elle aime les animaux, la campagne, le jardin. Nos chats, chien et lapins l adorent. C'est une référence pour nous. Je vous souhaite de la connaître

As my first workaway experience I spent one week with this lovely family and it was great. Yolanda, Jorge and the kids made me feel home from the first moment. Milu, the dog, loves workawayers and will greet you like you were best friends. My responsibilities were to feed the chicken, drive the kids to school and play with them in their lunchbreak, prepare lunch and walk the dog. Even if it was just one week, I went for a hike in Alcover, visited Jorge at his firestation, enjoyed St. Jordi with the family in Tarragona, visited Yolanda at her school and gave a german lesson and I joined a student exchange party with the whole family. I had an awesome time. Thank you.

We had a very nice week with Eva and Joao. They are both very nice people. We felt very welcome and comfortable. The location of the eco hostel was perfect for us because it is in the heart of mazunte and only 3 minutes from the beach. The hostel is very simple and you practically live right in the mangrove forest, which means you are very close to nature. It was a place for us to recharge our batteries. We built two doors and enjoyed the work very much. If we had any questions, we could always turn to Eva and Joao. We would definitely come back to help them again.

I spent 6 weeks with Anja and Michaela , it was a beautiful period of my life , I enjoyed every minute. If you are looking for a peaceful place with kind people then I can recommend you this host. I learned a lot from them and I gained some unforgettable experience.

I stayed for nearly 3 weeks at Martha's amazing home. She is an open minded, smart, kind hearted person with a lot to give. I had an amazing comfortable room, my own bathroom and my own balcony with an upstairs terrace that has a beautiful view of Alexandroupoli and the surrounding fields. Her house is a short drive, or bus to a lovely, vibrant town with lots of coffee shops and things to see. We had great conversations over breakfasts, where I got to enjoy her homemade marmalades and local cheeses. I enjoyed working outside, mowing the large lawns, tending to the vineyard and helping with her big vegetable garden and anything else she needed help with. When I was done for the day, around 2pm, a huge delicious homemade lunch would be prepared and I felt very well looked after with her cooking and hosting, often trying new Greek dishes that were incredible! Most evenings we would play Rummy (and I would lose a lot) but I really enjoyed it 😀 I had plenty of free time, too, and Martha is respectful of space and time off. I would highly recommend a stay at Martha's for anyone who can help out, it really was a pleasure spending time with her and I hope we meet again one day.

Carolina and Ingrid were really kind and everything was easy. I was working in the Bokados Café and really enjoyed my time there, would definitely recommend!

¡Marc, Vicky y Blai son muy acogedores! ¡Pasamos una semana con la pequeña familia y otras dos volontarias brasileñas y nos sentimos cómodos! El trabajo fue interesante y gratificante, nos hubiera gustado quedarnos un poco más y participar en el avance de las obras, pero tuvimos que continuar nuestro viaje. ¡Marc y Vicky no dudan en compartir sus favoritos de la región que es realmente encantadora! We spent a week with the little family and two other Brazilian volunteers and we felt at ease! The work was interesting and rewarding, we would have liked to stay a little longer and participate in the progress of the work but we had to continue our journey. Marc and Vicky do not hesitate to share their favorites of the region which is truly charming! We had a very enriching time together, we will definitely come back! It was a really nice volunteering experience! I had the opportunity to help with English lessons for children and teenagers who were all very friendly! It was conversations, helping with exercises, creating little games or activities in English. The school is run by a sweet family. They were so helpful and are always in a good mood. We were able to eat together, go to the market, or visit the city. I stayed there for 2 weeks, we were 2 volunteers, staying very close to the school. In our free time, we went to the Laguna Quilotoa and the Cotopaxi and Chimborazo volcanoes. Thanks everyone :)

Staying at the save haven has been an incredible experience and it was a pleasure to meet all the people involved as well as the many amazing, amazing animals!! So thankful for this opportunity and hopefully will be back!
