  • Description

Hello! Welcome to my profile. :)

My name is Gabriella and I am a 23 year old recent college graduate that is searching for work in Ireland, France, and other nearby countries throughout Spring and Summer of 2024.

I attended College of the Atlantic located in Bar Harbor, Maine which is a hub for young naturalists, environmentalists, and adventurers. Over my four years there, I studied geology, ecology, natural history, ornithology, paleontology, gardening, homesteading, animal husbandry, sailing, cooking, and more...I absolutely love learning and sharing what I learn with family and friends.

For my last year of shool, I worked on currating a collection of self authored books on a few of my favorite topics: ancestral recipes, marine biology, and ornithologist, Florence Merriam Bailey.

Now that I have graduated from school, I have returned to my passion of artistic gymnastics and circus. I love attending the adult gymnastics trampoline classes at my local gym and taking aerial or trapeze classes at the local circus center. Making time for fitness and wellbeing is incredibly important to me.

Another way I prioritize my wellbeing is through healthy eating. Growing up as a gymnast led me to my passion in healthy eating and nutrition early on. I knew that when I ate healthy, I felt the best and performed my best! I used to be omnivorous, but found I do much better on a vegan diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Other hobbies of mine include baking and cooking nice meals for me and family, going for walks in nature, visiting museums and aquariums, spending time with pets, painting, crafting, reading, traveling, and dreaming of the bed & breakfast I hope to run one day.

This is not my first time working abroad. During the summer of 2022 I was a member of WWOOF Ireland. I immediately fell in love with the country from the experience. I worked on a goat farm for a week and then set off solo travelling around the country by bus and train. I went from Galway to Cork, Cork to Dublin, Dublin to Belfast, and Belfast to Londonderry with many wonderful stops in between. The highlight of my trip was getting to meet my cousins in Londonderry. My paternal grandmother was born there and her siblings still live there. I got to stay with their families for a week and felt so welcomed and had the most amazing time! They took me on hikes out into the countryside and toured me all around Londonderry. Ever since that trip, I knew I wanted to be back soon so I can continue to soak up the beauty of Irish land, culture, and my heritage.

Thankfully, I connected with a wonderful host in Slane, Ireland and spent 4 months living with her and her son. My main tasks involved dog-walking, house sitting, cleaning, cooking, and babysitting. It was such an incredible and fulfilling work exchange experience and cultural exchange that truly transformed me as a person.

Now, after being home for a few months, I am ready to set out again on more workaway adventures!
