Description
"One who lives well lives unnoticed!"
I am Tudor (45), a human that chose to leave behind the city in search of a simpler life closer to nature.
During winter, I read books, listen to podcasts, learn what I feel like, and wander in the forest with my dogs. When there is no more wood I gather some. When I miss my family I call them.
During summer I work at my mud house, maybe do some gardening, take care of my surroundings and enjoy nature with friends. When there is no food I go and buy some. When I feel like having a break I just lie down in the grass. When there is nothing to do, I do nothing.
"Divide and conquer" is the name of the game in today's society: every one for himself, no cooperation, permanent growth, no care for the environment, no compassion and no spirituality. This is not sustainable, this is not the future that I want to build for our children.
We can make a difference, either from the top down hoping that it will trickle down, or bottom up setting up a fire that will heat everything. For the last 5 years I have closed nothing, now I chose the latter since that will come from the people, from cooperation, from community.
An eco-socialist mindset will be a great beginning for a conversation. Learning from the mistakes of others, using consent, knowing our neighbors, learning from nature while living off the land, guiding our kids to grow, impacting the society as a whole, sharing the knowledge and resources, are the essence of an intentional community that I would like to build with you, because a good life must not be only for the privileged. Join me, let's do this together!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will have the opportunity to spend time in nature and experiîence the beauty of a simple life. My home is located in the forests of Mureș county. I have no close neighbors and we are surrounded by forests, meadows and a river.
If you are in search of a community that you can build and be a part off this might be the place since the grratrst value that you mighy add is you.
I would like to find out your story and tell you mine, stay around a fire singing and playing musical instruments, talking about books, philosophy, traveling, hiking, biking, and sometimes just listen to silence.
You can practice languages like Romanian and English that I speak very well, French and German that I speak a little and also the language of other volunteers.
Hopefully there will be other volunteers at the same time so we can learn from each other and enjoy their company.
For a wider view of this place the villages are not that far so if you know some English or Hungarian you the villagers.
And since happiness passes through your tummy, we should cook traditional foods and experience interesting tastes.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
I will be more than happy to hear from you. Do not be intimidated by the list below, I am more chaotic and disorganized, I am easy going and go where the wind takes me that day. Keep in mind the most important project is building an intentional community. ;)
*Setting up / taking care of the garden
*Building a green house
*Building extensions around the house
*Plastering walls
*Photo and video editing
*Teaching me you language
-------------------
*Setting up / taking care of the garden
I do not know much about gardening and my eyesight does not help either, so if you accept this task I will help you while I will learn from you. In previous years with help from volunteers and family i. Had a great harvest so maybe we can do it this year.
If your schedule will allow a longer stay it will be even greater so you can also enjoy the fruits of your labor.
*Building a greenhouse
This is a humid and cold place and the soil has high clay concentration so sensitive plants don't do well so I will build a partially buried greenhouse with wood from the forest, straw bales from neighbors, water from the river and polycarbonate from the store. You do not need much skills because I will guide you.
*Building extensions around the house
I imagined my house like a hobbit house with green roofs starting from the ground but has too much clay and too wet so I decided to create extensions around the house. So we will build with earth bags, wood from the forest and waterproofing before we cover everything with topsoil.
*Plastering walls
Most of the house has the base earthen plaster rendering but there are the last layers to add and lime wash, and also some wood or earthen shelves and if you want decorative elements to create or paint.
*Photo and video editing .
Your skill will be of great value since my youtube channels are a mess and I take too few pictures and videos to document my projects and my editing skills using a tablet are very limited. I would like to create some video presentations of the surroundings, the house, some interviews with me about the intentional community and some knowledge and creativity is appreciated.
*Teaching Hungarian
I live in an area with a majority Hungarian population but since I am not a local I do not know the language. I know numbers, colors, food items and greeting people. This is not enough for me. Speaking every day with someone for several hours will be of great help. We should find activities around the house, like cooking, gardening, foraging, gathering wood, taking care of the animals, reading, or just traveling or hiking, so learning will be a hands-on experience. So no grammar or lessons pleas.
If French is your native language I will love to brush up my French that I rarely have the occasion to speak.
If German is your native language it will be of great hrlp.to remember how to speak it. My sister is married in Germany but we speak in Romanian and in English and for my brother-in-law it is hard to follow me.
Italian i speak by inventing words but i understand it so some day to day speaking experience will be great.Languages

My land is 3 and 5 km away from the nearest villages (Ghindari 5 km and Solocma 3 km) and you are welcome to use my bicycles to explore the area.
If you would like to visit a more populated areas there is Sovata, Târgu Mureș, Sighișoara,, Praid, Corund, Crișeni and many others.
Sovata is a popular health resort and is 15 km away by bus from Ghindari. Here you can walk around several salt lakes like Lacul Ursu (The Bair lake) , take a boat on Lacul Tineretului (youth Lake), hike around the salt mountain, and take a ride on Mocăniță (a steam train), have a bath in salted water outside in a lake or inside at a spa..
Târgu Mureș is the seat of Mureș County in the historical region of Transylvania and is 45km away by bus from Ghindari. Here you can visit the old fortification complex, the arts museum and the hall of stained glass windows, go to classical music concerts in the opera house or to the theater.
Sighișoara is a very old medieval town 1 hour away by car. Here you can visit an old town up on a hill still surrounded by fortification walls and all of the towers. There are churches, schools, restaurants, souvenir shops and a great cemetery with a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
Praid is a salt mine 1 hour away by car. Is a tourist destination and a health resort.
Corund is a craft village 1 hour away by car. They are specialized in pottery and with dome luck we can visit a workshop to see how it is done.
Crișeni is a small village 30 minutes away by car. In here they have a straw hat museum. The craft is alive and they are still creating hats from straw of a special wheat that they plant each year.
But if you ask me what I enjoy, I will recommend you to take the dogs and randomly hike the surrounding forests. There are thousands of hectares of forest with many hills and valleys, forgotten trails and great panoramic views. And if you are lucky, you may see some wildlife under the protection of my trusted dogs.
I do not enjoy much visiting cities but once a week you may convince me to accompany you to Sovata or Târgu Mureș but i love more to hike the surrounding hillsA little more information

For the work I did here, amongst other things I got my hands dirty plastering the outside of the house on the sandbag walls, and quite literally got my hands dirty as you use an earth and sand mix for the plaster and you have to use your hands. We also went into the forest to find… read more
