I stayed with Anne-Beth and Leif for two weeks and it was more than I could have hoped for as my first workaway project. The moment I arrived they both made me feel welcome and at home and they made sure I had everything I needed. We tried to have one meal together every day and they both were eager to hear about my experiences. Also I learned a lot about Norway from them and we had lots of traditional Norwegian food. I also got to know their daughters and granddaughter, who is adorable and Anne-Beth and Leif took me with them to a flea market. I had many tasks to choose from so help was very diverse and my hours were flexible. Leif was very helpful when showing me things I have never done before and I learned a lot of new things about garden care. For example, I did some weeding, pruned the trees and on some evenings I cooked. Apart from that, Nesodden is a really beautiful place near Oslo. There are many hiking paths along the coast and it's nice to spend some time enjoying the sun at their place. Anne-Beth also suggested some hiking routes to me and made sure that I was well equipped for my trips. Moreover, it's easy to visit Oslo and spend some time there as well. All in all, I am so grateful for my experience with you, Anne-Beth and Leif. You made me feel like I am a part of your family. I had an amazing time with you and am really hoping to come back one day. Thank you so much!

Nuestra experiencia con Phibi y Jake fue excelente. Ambos tienen una hermosa energía, siempre felices y con buena onda! Nos ayudaron mucho durante su estadía, sobre todo con la construcción de la mini house. Son comunicativos, están predispuestos a ayudar, aprender y tienen buenas intenciones. Compartimos momentos muy lindos, comidas, mates, mucho choripan jeje y charlamos muchas cosas, sobre nuestras vidas, nuestros estudios, nuestra familia, nuestra cultura, costumbres, etc. Fue muy triste su despedida, sinceramente nos agradan mucho y quedaron pendientes muchas cosas por compartir. Esperamos verlos pronto amigos! Lago Puelo espera su regreso :) Mientras tanto, sigan disfrutando del viaje y las aventuras! Abrazote a los dos!!!

She was very honest and positive in her work. She has had a very positive impact on our facility. We all miss her and wish we could have worked with her longer. She is a very talented person.

Alex is a very nice guy he is down to earth. in the school he taught English conversation to the students and the students ,they were very happy with Alexis and I recommend Alexis to be accepted as a workawayer

[Português] Foi a minha primeira experiência como voluntária e foi incrível! Fiz esse volutariado em agosto, alta temporada na cidade devido à época de neve. Então, o hostel estava bem movimentado e tive contato com pessoas do mundo todo, o que foi ótimo para praticar meu inglês e aprender mais espanhol. Fiquei um mês no hostel fazendo o trabalho de Social Media. É um trabalho super tranquilo e flexível, e consegui conciliar com meu trabalho do Brasil e ainda explorar a cidade. A localização do hostel é excelente, perto de pontos turísticos, bares, restaurantes e metrô Loreen, a anfitriã, é muito flexível e atenciosa, sempre respondia rápido e me orientava com qualquer coisa. Inclusive, até me levou para um piquenique em um parque na região, foi muito legal. Todos os outros funcionários e voluntários foram muito receptivos e amáveis comigo. Fiz muitas amizades que tenho contato até hoje. Me diverti demais e sinto saudades de todos, recomendo a experiência! [Espanhol] ¡Fue mi primera experiencia como voluntaria y fue increíble! Este trabajo voluntario lo realicé en agosto, temporada alta en la ciudad debido a la temporada de nieve. Entonces, el hostel estaba muy ocupado y tuve contacto con gente de todo el mundo, lo cual fue genial para practicar mi inglés y aprender más español. Me quedé en el hostel por un mes haciendo trabajo de Social Media. Es un trabajo súper tranquilo y flexible, y pude compaginarlo con mi trabajo en Brasil y seguir explorando la ciudad. La ubicación del hostel es excelente, cerca de atracciones turísticas, bares, restaurantes y del metro. Loreen, la anfitriona, es muy flexible y atenta, siempre respondió rápidamente y me guió en cualquier cosa. Incluso me llevó de picnic a un parque de la región, lo cual fue realmente genial. Todo el resto del personal y los voluntarios fueron muy acogedores y amables conmigo. Hice muchos amigos con los que todavía sigo en contacto hoy. Me divertí mucho y extraño a todos, ¡recomiendo la experiencia!

We really enjoyed this chapter of our lives helping with Tom and Deena’s project. Although they were away, they trusted us entirely and communication was excellent. We tidied and cleaned living quarters ready for Workawayers, moved 2 tonnes of firewood into storage, chopped up boxes of kindling for the winter, helped with gardening/watering, began to excavate a huge hole for a tank, helped with some fermentation and pickling (!), tidied up and organised the garden and storage areas, excavated and cleaned up some old tiles, cleared out some rooms of furniture, ready for builders… Tom trusted us with a list and was supportive and kind. They seem like a super cool couple! We hope to meet in the future and wish them all the best with this adventure!✌️

a very nice, friendly and altogether a fun and reliable couple! they helped out in Various projects and we had no problems leaving them to get along with things by themselves,, also very friendly with the kids.. our gardens are looking a LOT better thanks to theses guys.. and the cabin was left in great / clean condition we can recommend them to any other hosts. thanks again and good luck with with your travels. I had a great time in Phitsanulok, Mark and Mint were fantastic hosts at the hostel, creating a warm, family-like vibe! Though I mainly helped at the hostel because of the summer school break, trying to teach the kids for one day was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Mark & Mint, as well as visiting this authentic Thai city.

I have hosted Phoebe and her friend Lo for two weeks at the farm. It was one of the best experiences on workaway I ever had! They were amazing! Helped a lot at the farm, were up to do any kind of job. Besides helping with work, they are both amazing people! We had some really good time. Very polite, fun and tidy girl! Would higly reccomend hosting her!!

My sister and I joined Louise, her daughter Abby and her fiance Blane on their little farm very last minute and stayed for just 10 days. For everyone considering staying with them, we can only suggest staying longer! You will find that it takes some time to adjust to your new routine in the countryside, but after the first week, you'll find your rhythm. The work includes feeding cats, cleaning the goat's stables, refilling the horse's water buckets, and taking care of the chicken and anything else that there is to do! Even if you have never done anything like this before, Louise is very patient and kind in explaining everything you need to know. And in your free time, there are plenty of things to explore! We went on lots of walks, visited all the bakeries and patisseries near and far and just enjoyed the calm and peace of the beautiful Confolens. Oh, and you better bring your rubber boots, they will be very useful!

It was a real pleasure to have Ryn at our house. Very warm and positive, thoughtful and caring person. She helped us enormously with the house and garden, and she gave us a lot of motivation. She has lots of energy for physical work, as well as a great mind to organize tasks, and very responsible and precise with time. We also enjoyed lots of great conversations. We wish her a great journey and hope to keep in touch. Ce fut un réel plaisir d'avoir Ryn chez nous. C'est une personne très chaleureuse et positive, attentionnée et bienveillante. Elle nous a énormément aidés pour la maison et le jardin, et nous a donné beaucoup de motivation. Elle a beaucoup d'énergie pour le travail physique, ainsi qu'un grand esprit pour organiser les tâches, et elle est très responsable et précise en ce qui concerne le temps. Nous avons également eu beaucoup de bonnes conversations. Nous lui souhaitons un bon voyage et espérons rester en contact.

Hard worker, good chef, very friendly! It was a pleasure to have Franco at our house. He is fun to be around and completes any tasks he is given to the best of his abilities. He works very hard, please make sure he takes his breaks. When tasked with chopping firewood, he was much more efficient than I would have dreamed, the man chopped at least ELEVEN CUBIC METRES by hand into very handy pieces, drove them accross the property in a wheelbarrow and stacked them extremely neatly! He also cooked some beautiful traditional chilean meals for us multiple times, together with our other chilean guest at the time. At two occasions even providing a large meal for a group of twelve students who camped in our yard for the night! Communication with Franco was reasonably easy. While his english wasn't perfect yet at the time, he listen's closely and makes an effort to communicate effectively, and asks questions if something is unclear. I'm sure his language abilities have improved by a great margin since we met. All in all, we had a very good experience with Franco and would reccommend hosting him very much! 10/10, very enjoyable stay! We had a lot of fun with Jo and George, and they have been able to help a great deal with figuring out how we want our place renovated! They are very organised and can bring order to a chaotic situation. I would absolutely trust George with running the entire renovation. We've spent a lot of time together, just sitting in front of the fireplace, chatting and enjoying Jo's wonderfull applecrumble. It takes a really positive attitude to visit here in November and still enjoy yourself. By doing so, they made our November much more enjoyable, too, and for that we will be forever greatfull. Take care of yourselves and keep spreading that good mood, thank you so much!

Perfect start for our workaway experience! Ugur is a very independent worker and requires little to no supervision. We could simply describe to him what we needed, and he would find a way to get it done. He is an easy going person and a joy to be around, and we would host him again any time! He is very ressourceful and determined and was able to fix up a couple of older water pumps, that we had already given up on. He also built two sturdy and very functinal gates for our garden, to finally keep our rogue chickens inside. A year later they still work like on the first day and look great. Thank you so much for all your help, take care of yourself, and have a good life! Please come around some time!

We had such a good time with Jenny and Luca. They welcomed us with warmth and openness in their beautiful land of olive trees, orange trees, small vegetable gardens and streams of water. Our experience was full of cultural and culinary exchanges, exchanges of ideas and experiences. We soon became friends between an olive harvest and a cozy evening with pizza baked in their wood-fired oven. Working with them was a pleasure, especially for their openness to the ideas and skills of each Workawayer. The experience of Jenny, a Brazilian living in Sicily, was crucial for Antoine to understand the cultural characteristics of this land for good and bad.

We've had the pleasure to have Luke with us for 3 weeks and he has been of great help to us during this period. Luke is an amazing smart and sweet person, who is eager to help with anything, to learn new things and he is very open and respectful. When he arrived he immediately took time to connect to our little daughter with his calm, patient and fun energy. This was amazing to see and it gave us really a feeling of trust and safety. We've had many great conversations and he's a great company to have. We were in quite a busy time and schedule, but Luke is very natural to adapt to it and was also able to do his own thing to enjoy the time. He gave us much positive energy & he really made a difference around the house and farm with his hard work. Thank you very much for everything Luke! You really became part of the family and Noemi is still sometimes asking for you :-) You're always welcome back here <3

Der Aufenthalt in Arusha bei Raphael war mir ein Vergnügen. Es hat ein bisschen gebraucht mich alleine mit allem zurechtzufinden, aber der kulturelle Austausch ist auf jeden Fall geben. Raphael ist sehr engagiert in seine Projekte und seine Leidenschaft die Schule zu einem besseren Ort und einem Ort der Bildung für die Kinder zu machen ist sehr inspirierend. Es war sehr beeindruckend den Prozess vom Umbau der Schule mitzubekommen und mitzugestalten. So wird das Projekt automatisch zu einem Teil von einem selbst.
