I had beautiful time with community ☺️. It was enriching to meet so kind and inspiring people. Work was enjoyable - mostly I enjoyed milking cows. I would definitely recommend this experience 😌

I spent 2.5 weeks with Elizabeth, Michael and their kids at the beginning of November. It was my first Workaway experience during my trip to Canada and I couldn’t have asked for a better one! Elizabeth and Micheal are warm-hearted, friendly and welcoming people, their children are cheerful, smart and fun to spend time with. I worked about 4 hours a day, mainly on household tasks, and Elizabeth always clearly communicated what needed to be done. A few times I was asked to look for the kids which in the end was more fun than work. I really enjoyed playing board games with them or going on a fun shopping day with Maddy. Elizabeth and Michael always let me know when they were going out by car and kindly offered me rides which allowed me to visit downtown several times during my stay. I particularly appreciated that Elizabeth took me to various hiking groups which was a wonderful way to meet locals and get to see more of the area. It was also a special experience that the family took me to a neighborhood Christmas party. In addition to that in my free time I loved going on walks in their village - a truly beautiful place with breathtaking views on the sea. I would love to come back one day. Thank you so much, Elizabeth, Michael, and the kids, for your hospitality - I had a great time!

Gracias Carlos! :)

We didn't expect this week to leave such a mark on us. 🫶 In the classroom, teacher Lin gave us everything we needed to take charge of our students from day one. We had two groups all week : one in the morning for a 3 hours class, and one in the evening for one hour. Keeping the same students throughout the week made all the difference. We truly got to know them, and honestly, saying goodbye at the end was hard. Sokear and her family made us feel at home before we'd even unpacked. We shared every lunch and dinner together, and every night Sokear or Lin escort us back to our guesthouse right next to the school. We were also lucky to be surrounded by three amazing fellow volunteers. We quickly became a real crew, explored the area together, and immersed ourselves in the local culture... Memories we'll both carry for a long time. We've done several Workaway experiences, but this one is by far the best. Go for it, you won't regret it. 🇰🇭

I met clarissa and Darrell in a stressful time, while they just took over a new property! Both were passionate about their new project and couldn't stop thinking and dreaming about future ideas. When I volunteered with them my tasks were mostly cleaning, tidying up and I teached yoga. The tasks hasn't been clear and the week I spend with them felt quite unorganized for me. We've been a group of 7-9 volunteers, who all stayed together in the "main" property together- such a great community ! we had some problems during the week ( no running water, missing supplies ( soap, toilet paper...) no electricity at all ) because nobody got introduced to the property and how the systems are working. the nature and the surroundings of the jardin were incredible; close to nature, lots of wildlife, disconnected from everything else than nature! I loved that! all in all I'm grateful for my stay and I could learn a few things. at the same time I found the hosts sadly stressed and agitated during my stay and it gave me mixed energy vibes in total! both have a good heart and I appreciate what I've got ! thank you !

I stayed at Ole's Farm for 3 weeks in December. The experience was positive despite the weather not helping during my stay. His farm is immersed in a place where nature reigns supreme, near a lake and surrounded by forest, truly incredible for nature lovers, with beautiful trails for exploring the area and getting some exercise. 🌲🍄‍🟫🪶 Ole is a kind guy with a great sense of humor and with whom you can talk about many different things like psychology , society, nature, actuality and many others. He and his family were very hospitable to me, and even though I'm a shy person, in a couple of days they made me feel welcomed and part of something. I had the opportunity to learn many things about Norwegian culture and the art of DIY, of which Ole is a great master, willing to explain several times if necessary. During my stay with him, my main tasks were taking care of the sheep and building a TV stand for his living room. I helped clean and tidy the house daily, and somedays I cooked some delicious Italian dishes for them. I will always hold Ole, his family, Ienta and Niko (his lovely dogs 🐶 ), and my sleeping buddy Noodles (his cat 🐱 ) in my heart for giving me the opportunity to have such a wonderful experience. I hope to be able to visit them again ♥️

We stayed at Trisha’s place for 10 days at the beginning of March 2026. Trisha is a very kind and open-minded person with many interesting stories, lovely to chat with. She warmly welcomed us, informed us about everything we needed to know about the house and the area, and provided us with helpful local travel tips. 🙏 Trisha assigned us a fair amount of work around the house with clear instructions and provided us with the necessary tools. We assisted Trisha with laneway gardening, cleaning windows, and clay recycling, which turned out to be a fascinating educational experience for us. We were even fortunate enough to create our own clay masterpieces! 🍶 The house was really stylish and memorable. We stayed in a spacious bedroom and could use the shared common areas, bathroom, and kitchen. Everything in the house was nice and clean. 🤩 The location was perfect, allowing us to reach Circular Quay or Coogee Beach in half an hour using just one public transport option. We explored many parts of Sydney and were lucky enough to visit Bondi Beach and the Opera House. An amazing neighbour, Olga, even gave us tickets for a techno concert next to the Opera House. 🎉 We couldn't have asked for a better time in Sydney, and we hope to meet Trisha again in the future, hopefully next time, when there will be a total lunar eclipse. 😉 Thank you for everything again, Trisha. 🫶 We highly recommend staying with Trisha to everyone!

By the time I left this place after 5 weeks, I felt totally part of the community! The conditions were rustic (outdoor kitchen, spiders in the bathroom, etc.) but the space is gorgeous. I learned a lot about daily life in a "regular" Mexican town and met great people-- including the kids, who were very welcoming. Coworkers frequently invited me to social events and dance and art classes so there was plenty to do when I was willing to spend 5USD round trip on bus fare. Each week, I chose which days I wanted to work in the garden (mornings) or with the kids (afternoons). The coordinator was out of town while I was there, so there were sometimes delays in getting issues addressed, but I don't think it's normally like that. If you're looking to be surrounded by other people who are interested in education, community empowerment, food sovereignty, the arts, and going to the beach, I'd recommend getting in touch!

We stayed with Carl and Maria for 2.5 weeks. Both of them are very kind. Maria asked us every day if we needed anything and made sure we were doing well, which helped us feel comfortable very quickly. Working with Carl is a pleasure. We removed a lot of weeds, painted, swept, and cleaned up. We were also invited to dinner with them twice in the evening, which was a lot of fun each time. They are both very relaxed, communicative, and humorous people. The dog Tommy and the cat Maumau are wonderful—we will miss them too. Carl and Maria live in a beautiful place, which we really enjoyed. Thank you for everything.

I stayed with Valerio for three weeks, and for me he felt like an older brother. We connected from the very beginning and built a really genuine friendship. During my stay, I mainly worked with the land, as Valerio has very ambitious and inspiring projects. I also helped keep the house clean and prepared some good meals. On top of that, I had the chance to build some wooden furniture thanks to the woodworking workshop available — it was a very valuable experience and I learned a lot. In my free time, I got to try a bit of climbing, visit Alba, and most importantly just relax. The place is a real paradise: if you love nature, colors, and peace, this is definitely the right place for you. A special thanks also to the other “big brother” Yuri! In short, I absolutely loved these two guys — they are incredibly kind and made me feel comfortable from day one. Much love to you both! I highly recommend this experience, especially if you’re going through a tough or confusing period. It really helps you reconnect and appreciate the simple things in life. See you soon guys!

I volunteered at Conny's shelter for about two weeks. Conny is an amazing person and I honestly don't know anyone that is more devoted to animals than she is. I've had such a good experience and I couldn't recommend it more! :)

It was both a great help and a great pleasure to have Julieta with us. She was an incredible support, in so many ways, from painting and redecorating one of our rooms and turning it into a gem, to taking breathtaking photos for our social media, to supporting at big events, to suggesting who could come next to take over from her. Apart from that, Julieta was incredibly fun to be around with, quickly became part of the community we have created and are part of here, made new friends, and even organized a workshop at the residency. Perhaps most importantly, she became an important thought partner and adviser on many things. Her mix of maturity and wisdom and life experience makes her a very special person. We all hope she will come back at some point, soon!

I had 3 amazing weeks at the foundation. It was a unique opportunity to get to learn and understand more about Sri Lanka and the culture. At the same time, it was also a way to be a part of something that truly makes a difference for the people of the island, something I noticed both during online classes, but especially when I was lucky enough to visit the family of one of the students. Some of the students have come from truly humble backgrounds, and gotten into prestigious schools on account of their English. Nanda is an incredibly hard working teacher, who also takes into consideration how you can contribute. The work for me mostly consisted of talking talking to the students about various topics, ranging from movies to world news and even Swedish culture to try to get them more comfortable with speaking English. This was done as an extra to his usual lessons, which I think was great. The anaradhapura-area of Sri Lanka is truly beautiful and special, think riding a bicycle through rice paddies, bathing in the canals and visiting historical monuments. I can warmly recommend volunteering with the academy for anyone.

We had an amazing stay at Roger and Brenda’s place in Manakau. From the start, Roger was a welcoming and friendly host who made us feel at home. The garden work was mainly weeding and mulching, very reasonable and not too hard. Roger never made us work too much, and it was always done in great company. We especially loved our morning smoko breaks and the quiz nights at the local pub. We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend staying here!

Daniela volunteered for a month and a half. She is a dedicated and reliable professional whom I had the pleasure of working with. She is someone who truly respects the rules and takes her responsibilities in the store seriously. What sets her apart is her personality; she is wonderful to live with and knows how to maintain a harmonious environment at home. She is disciplined, respectful, and always willing to help. Anyone would be lucky to have her on their team or in their home!

I had a wonderful experience at Alex’s lovely place! I always have a big smile on my face when I think about it😊 I loved taking care of all the cute animals. It was my first time mucking out a chicken coop and a horse barn, and as Alex would say, it’s the best gym ever 😋 even better in such a beautiful setting, with a peaceful view, surrounded by silence and nature. I miss my almost daily walks in my wellies 🥲 A very special place in my heart belongs to Betty the goat, with whom I spent a lot of time. She was very shy at first, but in the end she ate cereal out of my hands, which I’m very proud of 😂 Next time I’ll cuddle her, that’s my next goal! Thank you, Alex, for this amazing time, for spending time together, for introducing me to your lovely friends and family, for trusting me with all your furry family members and for so many great memories 🥰 See you soon!!

thank you so much Claire for letting me had he chance to experience life on barbuda, thank you so much again. Barbuda is a really authentic carribean island and life on it can be hard sometimes. The house is beautiful but it is far from the beach and also from the village, the only village on there island so it can happen that you will be stuck in the house sometimes. Claire is a superb chef and she provides all the meals, the best food you can get on the island by far, delicious !!!!!! Life on barbuda is not for everybody but if you wanna challenge yourself this is the place to go!!!
