    Description

If you like to support us as a flight buddy, to bring adopted dogs to their families- please let us know. Quatar airways is the suitable airline and in Germany the airports Frankfurt, München and Berlin are possible to reach with an animal on board.

Our small shelter with 6 dogs and 17 cats is now located in Balapetiya. The big shelter with more then 150 dogs is in Nilaveli/Trincomalee. At both shelters its possible to volunteer! In Balapetiya volunteers are living with me (founder) at the small shelter. They are helping with walking the dogs, feeding, showering, cleaning and cats care. This is an important support for me, as there are many other works to do, to keep the organisation running. Once a month I visit Nilaveli for at least 1-2 week- that time the volunteers are taking care of the animals by themselves. But of course I am ready to support online, if there is any problem.
We are offering breakfast for free. There is a kitchen with full equipement, so you can cook by yourself ( or we cook together) and there are a few restaurants near by.
Please be aware, that we accept only volunteers staying at least 2-3 weeks in Balapetiya.

Big shelter in Trincomalee/Nilaveli " Lokku´s dogs&catscare: " Beside the big amount of dogs living at our shelter, we are running a spaying and neutering program, streetdogsfeedingprogram and a sponsorship program for poor familie and for disabled children. At the big shelter the volunteers are going for a walk with the dogs, spend time with puppies give shower to dogs or support by taking pics and videos. Making nice clips our work and share it, would be a big support for us!

Important to know: For both places its good to have a scooter driving license and be ready to rent a bike r share it with other volunteers.
