  • Description

I joined work away to learn about different skills and to work within a community/group of people to build, develop, sustain and improve whatever the project may be. I am passionate about meeting new people, I love to learn and to teach others.

I have experience with DIY, I have painted an entire appartment, fitted new taps, painted rustend radiators, fixed plaster holes, changed fire alarms etc. I am keen to learn more as i would like to renovate homes in the future.

I am passionate about cooking, and am keen to learn more about about growing/preserving food. Projects involving building or creating something are also of much interest to me, I come from an engineering background, so I am always intrigued about how something works.

I have practiced mindfulness and meditation for several years and would be glad to share these ideas.

I did an apprenticeship in engineering whilst studying for a degree in manufacturing engineering for 5.5 years. I worked in all areas of the business, working in the factory learning from the experienced operators, to working with management on business projects. During the apprenticeship I was promoted to Project Engineer working in the recycling industry for 3.5 years, and then shortly in the water purification industry. Within these roles I gained experience in project management, quality inspection, health and safety, team leadership.

I have worked as a waiter in a restaurant for 6 months. I enjoyed the environment because it was really people focused, I enjoyed making the guests laugh and seeing them enjoying their meals and having a good time.

I volunteered at The Sunday Centre in Sheffield, England. this is a charity which offers a free hot meal and supplies to anyone in need. I had a two roles here, I greeted the guests at the door, got any supplies for them. I waited tables and assisted any guests with anything they needed. This experience showed me how investment, organisation and willing volunteers could help those in need.

More details about my language interests
I am very passionate about languages. In my city, there is a very diverse range of languages. I have Italian, English, Dutch and some French ancestry. This has inspired me to learn more about my background, and to learn the languages which my family speak. I have been told I am a good teacher, I understand the difficulty of learning English from my friends, therefore I am glad to help them and others in improving their level of speaking.
