A truly unique experience with genuinely wonderful people. The teachers, host family and students were an absolute joy to interact with. The community-like culture is evident almost immediately and the accommodation and flexibility offered to volunteers is fantastic. A wide range of classes is offered to students and I was welcome to join any I wished to, in addition to the core English classes. I really enjoyed being a part of the school and I miss everyone already. This was not my first Workaway experience, and I cannot recommend this opportunity enough to anyone volunteering abroad for the first time. You will be welcomed with open arms. Hungarian hospitality is truly something else and some of my fondest memories will forever live in Veresegyház.

I spent two wonderful weeks with Eva and her two amazing children. They are an incredibly open and welcoming family who tried to give me a glimpse into everything that is Spanish and especially Galician even during such a short time. I shared so many great experiences with the family and I was truly welcome to join any activity or program I wanted to take part in with them. I learned a lot from them culturally and I also had the chance to taste many delicious dishes including local specialties because Eva is not only a wonderful mother but also an excellent cook. The place where they live is breathtaking a very friendly and cozy area on the western coast of Galicia right by the ocean. I truly hope I will have the opportunity to visit you again sometime in my life and thank you so much for everything!

Stefano is a really kind man ! always active and ready to make you discover italy even after his workings days. I enjoyed a lot the martials arts that he was teaching. it's a beautiful place and beautiful animals. it was difficult at first since I didn't speak Italian but he can speak a bit of French that helped ahah but after a few days it got better. Thanks Stefano for this experience !!

Katie and Konrad are truly wonderful people. From the very first moment, they make you feel like part of the family, with a warmth, kindness, and generosity that are hard to find. They genuinely care about making your stay comfortable and happy in every possible way, even paying attention to the little details and the foods and treats you enjoy. Katie also dedicated her time to helping me organize trips and discover the island in depth, something I really appreciated. She even lent me her car, which was such a generous and trusting gesture. We also had the chance to go sailing one day, and it was an absolutely sublime experience — one of those moments you keep in your heart forever. The work is fair, and they are always attentive to make sure you are not overworked and that you feel comfortable and happy. And Tilo… he is such a beautiful baby, full of light, energy, and vitality; intelligent, funny, and incredibly affectionate. Spending time with him was truly a gift. I’m leaving with beautiful memories and so much affection in my heart. It was a very special experience for me, and I truly loved being able to help them and share time in their home and company. Without a doubt, they are some of the best hosts I have ever had. Thank you so much to the three of you for everything you have given me ❤️

Corentin war für uns ein freundlicher, ruhiger und bescheidener Gast. Er half bei sehr vielen völlig verschiedenen Arbeiten, sei es in der Tierhaltung, auf der Baustelle oder im Haushalt. Nach einer Unterweisung führte Corentin die Aufgaben bald selbstständig zu Ende. Dabei bewies er viel Geduld und Sorgfalt und er ist absolut zuverlässig. Corentin montierte viele Meter Deckleisten an der Fassade unseres neuen Offenstalls, brachte eine Bretterschalung als Wandverkleidung des Bauwagens an, half beim Parkettlegen in der Ferienwohnung und beim Bau einer Außentreppe. Den Heuboden räumte er aus und pflasterte einen kleinen Weg. Dank Corentin ist auch die Umzäunung des Reitplatzes wieder vollständig und das Grundstück aufgeräumter. Er bereitete schmackhafte Mahlzeiten nach Rezepten seiner Großmutter für einen ganzen Trupp Arbeiter zu und außerdem spielt er auch noch sehr schön Gitarre. Sehr berührt hat Corentin uns mit den kleinen Skulpturen von unseren Tieren, die er wunderschön und fein geschnitzt hat. Danke, dass Du hier warst !

Lorraine was a fantastic person to host, she was friendly and easy to chat to, as well as being incredibly hard working and was willing to get stuck into each and every task. Lorraine was a great support in helping us look after the monkeys in our care. Thank you, Lorraine!

I had such a wonderful 2 weeks at Björn and Mirjana’s house. Their pets, Dino, Ellie and Lolita keep you very entertained and are so fun to look after. The main job is pet sitting, in addition to tasks such as cleaning, cooking dinner and being Björn’s fish assistant, but it never felt like work. The room I stayed in was quite big and had a great view of the garden. I was lucky to have great weather so I spent lots of time in the garden with Dino, as well as walking in the forest. On my days off I explored Potsdam and Berlin as they were just a train ride away. During my time I got to practice my German, learn‘t so many interesting facts about fish and other animals in the forest, and also got to help take care of the cutest kitten from Mirjana‘s work. I highly recommend this workaway if you love animals and nature. They really are an animal crazy family in the best way!

Antonin made a great contribution to Sanctuary life. He was very hard working, friendly and easy to chat to. Antonin was a huge help in keeping the Sanctuary and the communal household clean and tidy. Thank You, Antonin!

Erinn was a great person to have helping at the Sanctuary and made a fantastic contribution to sanctuary life. Erinn was hardworking and was a great support in helping us look after the monkeys in our care. Erinn was also a great person to have around in general - very friendly, positive and easy to chat to. After 4 weeks with Nikoletta, Spiros and the boys, it was difficult to leave. They are extremely kind people. You rarely find hosts via Workaway, who are real locals and with who you can create such deep connection by becoming a real family member! At their farm the Workawayers don't have to follow a fixed timing structure. So you can mostly structure your "working hours" as it fits for you (didn't felt like work at all!). I appreciated their calm and slow lifestyle a lot and had a big variety of tasks. Sometimes I worked alone, other times with Spiros or other volunteers. Nikoletta cooked delicious (greek) food for everyone once a day. For other meals I could simply help myself using the kitchen and products from the farm (fresh bread, eggs, cheese, Oliveoil, Oregano, fresh meat and more:) ). All in all, I can truly recommend this place! It offers a calm lifestyle, tasty and local food, cultural exchange and lovely hosts, who are experienced in hosting people. Looking forward to come back!

This was my first workaway, from March 19th to April 7th. Although it's been almost two months since it ended, I still vividly remember the time I spent cycling in the garden with Yamachan and Satsuki, as if it happened just yesterday. Their family was friendly, even though my Japanese and English weren't always very fluent, Naokosan and Guchan would proactively chat about Taiwan, making me feel more comfortable participating in the conversation. Those three weeks in Ogata are days I still think about constantly. The delicious food, coffee, sushi, and that beautiful Japanese house are all deeply etched in my memory. On my second day there, I joined their family to collect leaves and make compost for the soil. Sometimes I would cook some Taiwanese food, sometimes I would play with the children. The cherry blossoms were also incredibly beautiful during that time. I am very grateful to myself for being able to spend three weeks in such a beautiful place, surrounded by cherry blossoms.

Chiara was the best Choice for my first experience as a host. She is absolute adorable and pleasant to have her around. My Little daughter fell in love with her immediately and so Chiara could help me a lot with entertaining and taking care of my Baby. She also helped me a lot with cooking and the household. I really enjoyed her company and would host her any time again. Chiara has very good manners, is very polite and respectful. <3 I also enjoyed dinner and good talks together. I can absolutely recommend to Host Chiara.

I am simply amazed by this cheery, polite, clever, handy young man! This was truly unexpectedly positive experience altogether. Baptiste arrived on his bike, stayed in a tent in the garden and took on the project of reconstructing the cabin for volunteers. He is very skilled with DIY, hard-working, creative... His manners are outstanding, he is also very nice to talk to. I enjoyed listening to his life experience. He is getting 10 stars out of 5!

Kiki was a great addition to our team. She was very detail-oriented when cleaning the chalets and always made sure to resolve anything that was out of place. She also came up with ideas to improve processes and make them more efficient, which was very helpful and appreciated. She was also responsible for warmly welcoming guests with kindness and hospitality, as well as helping with gardening tasks from time to time. Thank you, Kiki, for your commitment and the time you shared with us!

The moment I arrived at Bunec Beach I just knew that place was special. From day one I felt super safe, welcomed, and part of their family. The location is incredible, literally like a fairytale. I spent two weeks in May, and going before the season starts meant I got to learn so much about Albanian culture, gastronomy and even the dances hahaha. The work is good and fair, we do a bit of everything: housekeeping, general cleaning, laundry, helping around wherever needed so everything runs smoothly. Everyone helps each other all the time, it’s a real teamwork. Most of my free time I spent at the beach, playing with Boy, swimming, watching sunsets or cuddling the kitty cat. I even got to visit Sarandë and Ksamil, and every time I came back to Bunec I was like “yep… still my favorite place.” Truly a 10/10 spot. Everyone is super open, friendly and always down for a good chat, music, laughs or just enjoying life together. I’m leaving with happy tears, the best memories and friendships for life. Big big thanks to Eri, Igli, Elena, Endri, Naomi and everyone else who made this experience so unforgettable. You guys will always have a special place in my heart ❤️

Dear Andrius, Thank you for spending three months with us during the beautiful autumn season! From September until November, you became a valued part of our little community here. You were always willing to help with all kinds of work; from cleaning and repairing the balcony, supporting daily tasks around the place and even cooking! We especially appreciated how flexible and easygoing you were with everyone. Since so many people come and go here, your social nature and ability to connect with both guests and volunteers made a big difference. At one point, you even naturally stepped into a leadership role with the other volunteers, which we really appreciated. Despite balancing your online teaching and remote work almost every day, you still contributed a lot and stayed involved in community life. And of course, we cannot forget how much you loved our dogs; the feeling was definitely mutual! 🐾 We also appreciated your openness about your personal challenges. We love your humor, intelligence, and sweet personality. You brought many good conversations and laughs into the house. You truly enjoyed the Sardinian autumn spirit… although by November, the colder weather was clearly not your favorite 😊 Thank you for your time, energy, and presence here, dear Andrius.
