One or two month life experience in central Tokyo!
    ---------------------------------------------------
Hello Workawayers, we are a non-profit organisation !
We will be the helping hand for foreigners in their day-to-day life here in Japan, and
it will walk people wanting to move to Japan through all potential challenges they might face.

We offer Japanese cultural experiences, with our partner companies (which offers accommodation) and The Language Cafe (which offers the opportunity to talk with Japanese people and know the culture better).

Over 800 people have joined this cultural experience program since its beginnings back in 2014.
Many people made life-long friendships through the cafe, some of them even got married,
whilst others decided to live on in Japan after their Workaway experience here.
We already are looking forward to meeting and talking with you like we did with so many interesting people in the past through Workaway :)

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

On this programme, you’ll have an accommodation, friends to hang out with, and several cultural experiences.
    - It’s a cultural experience of staying in Tokyo for one or two months. (You can’t stay over two months as we wish to offer the opportunity to as many persons as possible.)
    - It’s not work. Talk with both Japanese and foreigners who live in Tokyo at my cafe, and learn about Japan & our culture.
    - We hope you’ll have a great experience - some of our former Workawayers even decided to live on in Japan thanks to this experience!

    1:Accommodation
We can provide a dormitory room in a shared house in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
It is a very convenient location to travel around Tokyo.

    2:Friends to enjoy together
We have around 20 people joining this program at any time.
They all live in the shared house (the male house and female house are located in different areas),
so very easy to get along with and able to make a lifelong friend.

3:What we ask you to do (talk sessions)
Our partner is a language cafe
where people from all over the world gather and enjoy conversations about all sorts of topics.
The Cafe has been around for already 40 years in Tokyo. It was established prior the internet and social media age!

Normally Japanese people can not speak English, but those who go to the English school actually do speak English well.
We recommend you talk with them about what you did or plan to do in Japan, and get more
information about places to go or the Japanese culture.
The Cafe has customers coming from all walks of life, from all over Japan and from all generations.

This will be a great opportunity for you to get to know their lifestyle, their mindset, and to make friends with them!

    Help

Our talk sessions take place either 4 or 5 days a week, 3 or 4 hours per day. (Total 15 hours per week).
We set up a different shift for each to make the number of mates equal for each day.

The concept is that you can talk with Japanese people in English or some other language you are fluent in.
We also have Japanese people who are not yet comfortable speaking the target foreign language, so in that case,
you might want to speak slowly, and make easy questions for them.

You will also have plenty of time to explore Tokyo!
Every week you can get 2 "no-session" days in a row, which enable you to go for a small trip to other regions in Japan.
(Using night buses is the way to go for low budget travellers. We can always arrange a reservation for you. Just let us know!)

*Please understand this experience is not considered as being “work” or “help”.
The talk sessions are there to make you learn about Japan and our culture.
We only wish that you are genuinely curious about Japan and you are on time for you talk session shifts
    (usually 5 minutes prior).
