Annica is an excellent workawayer, and we highly recommend her. She is pleasant, willing and egar, happy to work outside in all weathers. She's endearing, kind, independent and fastidious. She makes an amazing chocolate cake and now makes great sour dough too! She's a bonus to any project. You'll be lucky to have her.

Justin and Helena are the best hosts, and you feel very welcome in their home. We had three great weeks with them and their sweet dogs. I can definitely recommend staying with them ☀️

I stayed for around one month with Tom and Max in Ireland and it was a really nice experience. They are very warm and welcoming. I had a very good room, and the place is amazing, only about 2 km from the beach and the cliffs, which are beautiful. It’s perfect if you like nature, hiking or even bivouac. Tom is also sometimes takes you to town with him, so it’s easy to move around and explore. I really liked discovering his world, especially the music. I could try his instruments and see him play in a pub, which was really cool. I also met Mary, a friend of Tom who comes regularly. She is very kind and helped me with some pronunciation, which I appreciated a lot. There are just a few things to know. It’s a farm, so the environment can be quite active and you need to be a bit adaptable. There is also quite a lot of cleaning, as the house gets dirty quickly, which is normal in this kind of place. Sometimes you need a bit of time to fully understand what is expected, but with a little attention everything goes well. Overall, I would recommend this place to people who are open-minded, flexible and comfortable with this kind of lifestyle. for me it was a really good first experience.

She was absolutely perfect and a huge help to us. She connected wonderfully with the teachers and was great with the kids. She was a massive asset; I would definitely recommend her for any role involving children or high levels of responsibility.

I had both positive and negative experiences with this host. I will start with the positives: Ann really cares for all the animals on this lebenshof and I think that is part of the reason they are all super friendly. I really liked all the animals, especially Oly (the sweetest cat ever). Ann also had a lot of interesting stories to tell around the dinner table, and we had a lot of good moments I will remember for a long time. She opened my eyes to a lot of good vegan food options I did not know about. I lost my phone on the way there and it took over 3 weeks for the airport to find my phone and for it to arrive in the mail. Even though I did not have the guts to leave the property much without a phone I rarely felt bored because there were so many friendly animals and a lot of things to work on. Now onto the negatives: in the beginning worked double the hours she says workawayers should and I felt like the focus still was on what I had not done or my mistakes. I felt like that kind of killed a lot of the motivation I had in the beginning. I also felt like there were mixed signals during my stay, I was told multiple times that I should take more breaks and that I should work less, but when I started taking more breaks and working less I felt like there was irritation because of the work not being done. I only took 3 days off in four weeks and I felt like I was still judged for not doing enough at times. Sometimes it felt like I was being judged for the smallest little things. For example choosing to wash my own hair in the morning before starting the work with the animals. She said she would never even think of washing it before going to the barn and she told me I was such a strange person for doing so. It kind of felt like a personal attack over something insignificant. As I said earlier I had a mixed experience with this place. In one hand I loved to work with the animals and I had a lot of good moments I will remember for a long time, on the other hand there were also moments I did not feel welcome or appreciated. Overall I am grateful for my stay:)

Nicolo you are a very good help with everything, in the garden and house. you are lovely with the Cats and the guinea pigs ! You learnt to chop wood and did a good job, as to plant vegetables in the garden, and planting trees for beaver food in the future, and you also did same cleaning and that very well! And helped cooking! We were lucky we had 3 weeks best weather, so we could do a lot of tasks outside. We had nice experiences together, by cycling and swimming. ( as the 3 country tour 50 km). Nicolo is independent and in his free time he did also things by his own! Explore Basel, Laufenburg etc! And visit places by walking and cycling! we wish you a good time and all the best, and we hope to see you again. Christian and Maja and the cats Ivy and Frida and the guinea pigs

Dear Muskan, thank you so much for everything! She's incredibly cheerful, positive, and warm-hearted, and in a very short time, she became a friend to all the neighbors. She created a beautiful mural, beyond my wildest dreams, and she was so quick! She left us with a memory we'll cherish for years to come. Muskan, I wish you all the best in life. If you'd like to visit again, you can always contact me. Lots of love.

Helen is a very kind, empathic, thoughtful and wonderful host. She took the time to show me Vienna and always tried to make my stay comfortable. I did lots of gardening for the upcoming spring, which I totally enjoyed. I spent 3 weeks at her place but had unexpected need to leave for a few days and Helen was very understanding and accommodating. At nights, we passed the time chatting and playing games and laughter and sharing. Pepa is also very friendly and easy dog to take care of.

We had a wonderful experience! Marbel and Pedro are very warm and welcoming people. The hotel has a very homey feel and we found the atmosphere to be very welcoming. Our work consisted of helping with breakfast and whatever else needed to be done that day (stacking wood, picking and peeling apples, ironing…). They were flexible about when we completed the tasks. The surroundings are also beautiful, there’s plenty to do, and you get a great view of the volcano. We highly recommend it!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Aaran and Mauritz and can highly recommend this Workaway experience. We stayed in their beautiful decorated apartment for a week. It is very centrally located, which made it easy for us to explore the area and go on small trips. If you arrive by car, be aware that the parking situation is limited and pricy. Communication was excellent from the very beginning. Aaran was always easy to reach and had helpful answers to all of our questions, which made everything feel very smooth and comfortable. Gruff, the big fluffy boy is amazing – very easy to take care of, super affectionate, and always happy to come by for some cuddles. He truly made our stay even more special. We also really appreciated that they allowed us to stay a few extra days, even after they had already returned. This kind of generosity meant a lot to us. Aaran and Mauritz are incredibly kind and warm people – the world would be a better place if more people were like them. Thank you so much for everything!

My experience as a volunteer at the monastery was wonderful and truly rejuvenating. Most notably, the welcoming and kind manner all the resident Benedictine nuns demonstrated to me, and the other volunteers, from the moment I arrived until I left was so heartwarming. The monastery is impressive, with much history and art everywhere, and the gardens are lovely and beautiful. The monastery, as one might expect, emanates a solemn reverence which is palpable the moment one enters its walls. I personally found peace, serenity and a feeling of being closer to God there and it was absolutely therapeutic for the soul. I enjoyed the work and was blessed by being with four other personable volunteers and we formed a good team. The meals were delicious, plentiful and so appreciated. And as a bonus, the town of Fabriano has much to offer with its interesting medieval character and lovely surroundings. In conclusion, I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked at the monastery and, God willing, would like to return there very soon. To Madre Laura and all the sisters at the monastery - Grazie mille!

Leon and Yara took really amazing care of our cat and our apartment. They were super easy to communicate with and it was great to be able to catch-up over lunch before they moved on to their next adventure in Norway. You’re welcome back any time :)

I'm so lucky that Andi invited me to stay. This host is relaxed. And communication was smooth. The work is not the same every time. For example, when I was there, he was renovating an old guesthouse. We moved furniture, painted walls, and installed carpets. I also did some artwork: I built small wall art in the gap between the shelves. I had my own huge space and a large, comfortable bed. The food was the best; I really enjoyed it. We played board games, listened to music, and had a good time. Thank you for taking me shopping so many times. I am happy being here.

Fynn visited us twice and spend several months at our place. He is a hard working, responsible young man, always waking up early to take care of the animals and morning tasks. He chopped a lot of firewood and helped with landscaping amongst other tasks. Fynn is super easy going, tidy and very friendly. He helped I highly recommend him to any host.

I stayed here for less than two weeks in February, which felt far too short. I already miss them so much! Mika and Muko were so kind and made me feel at home from the very first night I arrived. I worked with two other volunteers, and we also spent a lot of wonderful time together. We did the housework together every morning, and it didn’t take too much time or effort. I really enjoyed walking the three cute dogs by the river and playing with them. We had plenty of free time to explore the cities, too. Every day, Mika made us delicious dinners. She’s such a talented cook who can prepare so many different dishes! Muko also made us tasty noodles for breakfast and brought us cake when we were leaving. They are such lovely people with so many colourful life experiences. I loved talking with them. Mika’s stories always made me laugh. She’s so caring and is always helping rescue other dogs, which is truly admirable. This is definitely a warm and wonderful home to stay in.

This was my first workaway and it was great! Helen and Gabriel made me feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. The work was always different and enjoyable (nothing strenuous). There's also a lot of stuff to do when not working such as ping pong, chess or walking through all of the beautiful villages in the area. 10/10 experience 💫💯

We had the chance to stay with Jens for around 5 weeks, and it was an all-around great experience. Jens is very open-minded, generous, and has a lot of knowledge that he’s happy to share. He creates an environment where you feel comfortable and valued from the start. The work was very versatile. We did some general garden maintenance, insulated a bamboo house with clay, and started to build a clay/sand house from scratch. And one of the things we really appreciated was that even if you don’t have experience in everything, you’re encouraged to try new things and learn along the way. The people living there also make the experience special: everyone is very welcoming, warm, and kind, which creates a strong sense of community. Overall, we can highly recommend this place. It was a really positive experience, and we would definitely come back anytime.

Ayesha and Elia are open, funny and nice people. I had a great time at their place and learned much about nature, espacially plants and dogs. I felt very comfortable and welcomed. We had some nice conversations and although some work was hard I had a relaxing and funny time. As long as you communicate what you want, you will get along with Elia and Ayesha :) I am excited for the next time
