    Description

Hello everyone! We are Ayeshah & Elia with our growing family of animals, Kuma, Lana, India (dogs) and our four cats!
As from here you can already tell we are real animal lovers so if you're reading this and feel a spark in your heart this may be a perfect place to volunteer.
Ayeshah is a calm, empathic and sensitive person. She loves music, walks in nature, deep conversations, animals and art.
Elia is a curious, energetic, motivated person who loves nature and animals too. He loves gardening and plants, especially magic ones.
Together we enjoy listening to reggae music, traveling and discovering new places and learning new things from people and our surroundings as we are two very curious people.

We have recently moved from Italy to the South of Spain; 40 minutes from Huelva and beaches like Matalascanas & Mazagon and 1 hour from Sevilla and the Portuguese border.
Why? Because we love the spanish vibes and culture, slow life, nature and animals and this is a place that combines all of these.

Our land is 2.4 hectares and you can already find an amazing variety of flora and fauna. We have olive trees which we have already harvested, orange & lemon trees, fig trees, pine trees and a lot more, so we can say the land has already quite a lot to offer.

Our goal together has always been to become auto sufficient and be surrounded by what really is good for our spirit: nature, fresh air, a simple life & a quiet place to live, so we started by traveling in our van and ended up here still living in our van in a small piece of paradise.
Of course auto sufficiency is the main goal so we have many projects in mind which we would love to involve other people in, who maybe have previous experiences or ideas.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are open minded people who love connecting with different cultures, we speak 3 languages fluently and are open to share our knowledges and an eventual exchange of learning more.
Another part of the exchange will be cooking together and sharing recipes from our countries.
In these months we've learnt many things about this area so if you're a curious person we can share some info about history, nature and traditions that were told to us by our neighbor, a typical Andalusian farmer who you'll surely get to know.

  • Help

    Help

There are many things to do here, so we ask you to be involved in all of these tasks:
    - a compost toilet
    - taking part in daily routine tasks
    - gate maintenance and installation of a second one
    - gardening tasks
    - daily care of our vegetable garden and plants
    - building a chicken coop
    - wood-fired oven
    - a fire pit to keep cosy while gazing at stars or during night chats
Every project will be team work, sharing skills and knowledges, using tools and putting your hands at work, physical and creative tasks.

We are willing to host maximum 4 people with maximum 2 vans or campers.
If you decide to come here you must be a person who adapts easily, motivated, creative, empathic, trustworthy, open-minded and an animal lover day & night as our neighbour, with whom we have a very good relationship, has many animals. It’s like living in an old style open farm. You can hear and see his horses, his donkey, his roosters and hens and his 9 dogs which half of them basically live here since we arrived. They guard our land and us too and they do a great job, so obviously you might hear them at night.
As to this, we won’t be hosting volunteers with pets at the moment as our situation is still very delicate.

To live here comfortably we ask you to be:
    - Auto sufficient with electricity
    - Independent with services like toilet or shower (until we build a compost toilet), we do not have black water/potty disposal (closest service area for campers/van is a 20 minute drive from the land)
    - Auto sufficient with internet (we do have internet connection available on request)

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our land is about 5km from the nearest town which offers many services and shops, you can walk to the centre in about 50 mins or 20 by bike. To get here there is an off-road track of sand and stones, accessible all year round, with no risks of getting stuck and no size problems as we have already hosted big campers, even a 10-meters long truck (we would say this is the maximum length to be able to turn properly while taking curves).

You will be properly introduced to the land & the animals living in the finca and we'll be sharing the main rules to live in harmony with them and us on first arrival
(respect of spaces, tools & people, tidy up after working, keep places & things clean).

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA
    - beach trips to Mazagon y Matalascanas
    - visit the unique village of El Rocio
    - walks around pine & eucalyptus forests
    - not to far from us there are hikings & a lake
    - tours of Donana National Park where you can see typical flora & fauna
    - explore the marshes & birdwatch
    - sightseeing of cities like Sevilla, Cadiz, Huelva & Faro

We will be glad to meet and chat with you on WhatsApp to arrange every detail and to answer all the questions you might have.
We look forward to having you here and to be able to grow together in this never-ending learning experience we call life.
