I absolutely love this place. The past month in the mountains of Crete flew by so quickly. This village is surrounded by beautiful nature, stunning views and amazing people, it felt like a special experience from the beginning. All the lovely people I met here made me feel so welcome the day I arrived. The ceramics studio is very impressive and there is so much to learn about ceramics, Greek art and history. I especially enjoyed experimenting with different types of clay and trying out all the techniques. Noufris is very passionate about his art and, whenever he has the time, likes to share his knowledge and experience with others. He also always made sure that everyone was having a good time. I really appreciated the times when he showed us around the villages, took us to the city, the beach or to his favorite local tavernas. We also had enough time in the afternoons or on weekends to explore different parts of Crete. The island is full of beautiful hiking trails, nice beaches and cute little villages. But honestly, I also enjoyed staying in the little village during the weekend to spend time with Lotte and Eva (<3!) and to do ceramics all day long :)) One of my favorite things to do was sharing a good glass of (homemade!!) wine and listening to the sound of silence at night. I will never forget this. This is a truly unique and magical place, I wish I could stay longer. Thank you for everything!! <3

Serenna was very helpful all around the project, sometimes working on landscaping in the garden and sometimes doing construction or helping in the kitchen or doing yoga with the group. She was one of the friendliest people we've had here.

Falk was here for only two days, resting during his hike along the German-German-Border-Path, where we are living nearby. It was a very nice time we had together, exchanging stories, sawing wood for the winter, cleaning the house, cooking, and some more little help he gave us everywhere it was needed. Thank you for your kind visit, and have a gooid walk! All the best to you Gerhard & Ulfhild

Couldn’t have chosen a better first Workaway experience than staying with Paul and Julia. They are very caring people, with so much knowledge and life experience to soak up. Work days were spent working on a diverse range of projects, from gardening and weeding, to organising their (very large!) collection of antiques. I found the work very grounding, not overly strenuous, and good to keep my body and mind fit during the stay. Down time is plentiful, whether you choose to spend it alone in their lovely surrounding fields of the Dordogne, or with Paul, Julia, wonderful Pyrenean Mdm Plume, the six cats and your fellow workawayers. I had so much fun here, and am exceedingly grateful to Paul and Julia for having me at their home. I got to meet their friends, family, and felt very welcomed. Not to mention that we were fed like kings, and never got close to going hungry - also Julia AND Paul’s cooking were ridiculously wholesome and yummy.

Emma stayed with us at Nimbu in July 2025 for 3 weeks as a photographer for Property, nature, surf pictures. I was amazed by her talent and her discipline. We didn't have a fixed pensum on pictures, due dates etc. as i didn't want to block out her creativity and beforehand communication with her was so very professional, honest and kind that i wanted to trust the process. And it was more than worth it. What she delivered often left me in awe. During the whole time she regularly updated me on her progress in photographing (without asking), we were discussing what else i might need and in the end we were able to redesign our whole website with her photographs. Her work itself is wonderful. I like Emmas view of her surrounding, her pictures deliver emotions but you can see the technical skills as well. I can highly recommend to have Emma as a Photogrpher and Human around :) And hope to welcome her back some day. All the best for you Emma, warm greetings Theresa

Staying with Inger and Vinjar was great and the best first workaway experience I could have asked for. The moment I stepped in I immediately felt home, we had lots of great talks and learned a lot. I was included in Inger social circle and it was really nice meeting her friends, they are all great people. We watched Eurovision together and celebrated Norway's constitution day and it was awesome to see everyone in the typical dress My accommodation was a cozy little cabin with a living room, a small kitchen and a private toilet so you will have some privacy. During my stay I prepared and planted the potato field, waxed their skis, cleaned the chicken coop, painted the house, cut some wood, fixed a fence and we tried to cut the sheep wool not so successfully ahah . As you can see there are many different tasks so you won't get bored. Inger was around and helped me with the tasks when she could, but I had a decent degree of autonomy which I liked. You'll have your off days and the place is close to many trails and not too far off from the city, there is also a bus stop really close to the house. You definitely won't get bored. The surrounding area is incredibly beautiful. If you are thinking about going to Inger don't think twice and message her, you won't regret it. PS. Inger I arrived home safe and sound, I'm guessing your WhatsApp is still muted because of that annoying group chat ahah

Fabian is a very special person. We have welcome him as part of our family. We have deep admiration for the inner work that he has done and keeps doing on himself as human being and as man. We had many opportunity to talk with him, developing deep conversations about many topics. He is respectful towards every opinion, similar or different from his, and this is a very nice thing for us. He had tried so hard to learn as much italian as possible, so that it wasn't difficult for Adriano to collaborate with him. He was also very kind to Adriano, giving him some good advice about mental and physical health. Also Xavi has bound with him and still asks almost every day where he is now. We wish him all the best, he will be always welcome here!

I was fortunate to spend a week at Jane’s (or should I call a little piece of paradise??) during my very first Workaway experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better one! It was beautiful to see all the care and dedication Jane has put into her garden. She has incredible knowledge of many different plants and flowers, and I learned so much during my stay. I also had the opportunity to take part in different gardening activities like planting, pruning and watering. I celebrated my 28th birthday there with a truly memorable dinner that made the occasion even more special. The atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming, always filled with warm good mornings from Sherlock, and I’m very grateful for all her kindness and the moments we shared. Thanks again, Jane!! I really hope to see you again, either in Greece or somewhere else in the world.

I am happy I got the chance to meet Joe and Lucy. They stayed for about 10 days and help a lot with the project. They are chearful, respectful and good workers. She share times together with 2 other volunteers and really got along with everyone. I was lucky they stayed with us and help with the physical work that was needed at the time. I recommend them. Thanks!

Great experience with Bram. Trustworthy, sociable and respectful, he was also a hardworker. The tasks where not so easy when he was here (hard work with the soil and rocks) and he was always willing to work and help out in a lot of ways. He stayed 3 weeks and I strongly recommend Bram.

Thibault and Mathilde were kind and gentle natured people who helped me on my farm with watering plants, cleaning the grounds and some painting. They also brought some fun card games which made for a couple of enjoyable evenings together. I'm grateful for their help and glad to know them.

We had Pierre and Eulalie staying with us for only two weeks. As soon as they arrived, we knew we would have an amazing time! They are both very organized, clean and respectful. We worked at the nursery and with their help we managed to plant the whole greenhouse! Pierre tuned up our bicycles which are now riding smoother than ever! Eulalie was a natural helping with Zéphyr, it was one of the first time he really got sad to his new friends leaving 🧡 You guys are missed already! We wish you all the best in your future adventures! Love Kristos, Katrina and Zéphyr

Pypa stayed with us for three weeks and fit perfectly into our home, values, and way of life. She is incredibly easy to communicate with and a joy to live with. She was always ready to lend a hand with whatever was needed whether it was tackling daily house chores, cleaning up after renovations, setting up the yurts and guest rooms, playing with our kid, decorating cakes, or helping the artist set up her artwork right before the exhibition opening. Beyond all her help, she is an amazing listener, a wonderful human, and a true pleasure to talk to. Instead of just checking tasks off a list, she fully immersed herself in our life and work, jumping in to help whenever she noticed something needed to be done before we even had to ask. Her energy and dedication were truly incredible, and we appreciated her very, very much. Thank you so much for everything, Pypa! We absolutely loved having you here, and you will always be welcome in our home.

Our experience with Liam and Poppy was great. They're funny people. We enjoyed spending time with them at home and outside too. They taught us a lot about cooking, and helped us with various things around the house. We were flexible with the volunteering time on the last days of their stay. They helped us to make some things about design and photography. But they left without finishing the things that we have agreed and only sent one incomplete thing after asking for it many times. Maybe that was the only thing that we didn't like and we think that they could improve.

Sara and her friend stayed for a few days at our home. Everything was ok with them. Maybe it could have been a richer experience if they stayed for at least a week.

I really wanted to travel to Brittany & David took me to lots of village events & the beach durung a heat wave. Most of my work was in the big garden, sorting out the sheds & other things about the place. I am grateful for my stay, though transport can be a challenge.

We spent 2.5 memorable weeks at this amazing place. It was a great workaway experience - a stunning location (that grows their own incredible coffee as well as cacao and oranges to name a few) nestled high in the hills overlooking the quaint and walkable town of Nocaima, and such nice hosts that are beyond genuine and warm. Nazareth is a really kind person with a great sense of humour and loads of knowledge on various subjects. And Rodrigo is about as chill a human we have ever encountered and a great musician. They also have many wonderful cats and dogs and a chicken that you can spend time with. Our jobs included picking coffee beans, preparing cacao beans, weeding plants, moving freshly cut bamboo, cleaning and we enjoyed all jobs very much; the work being varied but never tiring. It was also a great place to improve our Spanish. The facilities are also very nice - always a well stocked kitchen where we cooked delicious food, quiet accomodation and even a pool which is vital on those hot days. You can also easily explore the surrounding areas which have a few nice waterfalls, a zip line and beautifull hill paths. We would highly recommend this workaway!

My time with Philippe and Jean was nothing short of magical. Excellent hospitality, lovely sharing of culture - food, wine, stories - I had an incredible time at their beautiful home in Coutances. Highly recommend, if you get the opportunity to work for them then don't pass it up! I only wish I could have stayed longer.
