Thank you Alex and Chris We loved having you come and help with the very boring job of raking up all those millions. of leaves. You did it with so much enthusiasm. Such ann important job as we are in a fire risk area. Enjoyed your company and our chats. I would recommend you to any host. Enjoy your travels. Love . Liz , Chris , Ginger and the ducks

Rebecca really helped us in painting our wall inside the volunteer centre. She is skilled and a good team player. She shared her painting skills with our team and the children visit our centre. She also helped us in raising some funds to continue our empowerment programmes. We are so happy to host her. See you again!

This Workaway was a great experience. I was surprised by how close I felt with Dani and Fernando after just three days. They’re great company, great fun and both very passionate about their jobs. I felt I learnt a lot about teaching from watching Fernando in his classes. He has a great connection with his students and the way he engages with them is inspiring. I was expected to work for approximately 3 hours per day. 1.5 hours for planning my class and the other 1.5 delivering the class. I was responsible for the C1 class which had two students who are great company and easy to get along with. The rest of the students are equally as fun and you can hang out with them in between lessons. It also has partnerships with other schools and so you may have opportunities to work in a more traditional school environment with younger ages. Overall, my experience was fantastic and I hope to return in the future. Missing my friends already!

I was fortunate enough to volunteer with this amazing organization, and it was truly a special experience. Kingugu Village is one of a kind, filled with incredibly warm and welcoming people. Although I could only stay for one week due to a tight schedule, Francis was very understanding and flexible with my stay, which I really appreciated. From day one, the children made me feel completely at home. They are so adorable and loving, and the teachers are just as kind and supportive. During my time there, I mainly helped the teachers and spent time playing with the children. I learned a lot about how the organization operates, and it was clear that nothing comes easily. The experience was truly eye-opening for me. Thanks to Francis and everyone involved in the organization, these children have hope and a brighter future ahead. What can I say about Francis? He is one of the most genuine people I have ever met, always smiling, incredibly kind, and truly dedicated. He also has a lovely family who made me feel very welcome. I already miss everyone so much especially Hannah and Daryas! I could go on forever, but I’ll stop here before this gets too long😄 I highly recommend this organization. Every little bit of help truly makes a difference💕

My boyfriend and I had the most unforgettable Workaway experience with Teresa and Sven in the south of Italy! We are still talking about all the lovely memories we made and the laughs we shared. We felt truly welcomed from the moment we arrived until the day we left. There, we met another Polish couple around our age and quickly became friends. We were happy to offer our skills and help Teresa and Sven as they moved into their new apartment. Each day brought a new task, which kept things exciting and rewarding, especially as we could see the progress unfolding before our eyes. It was a perfect balance between work and free time. During our free time, Teresa and Sven recommended nearby places for us to explore and visit on day trips. Teresa always prepared the most delicious meals, usually amazing Italian or Polish dishes. Even when we were away for the day, they generously gave us some lunch money so we could enjoy pizza and have a nice meal together. The accommodation was perfect. We had our own room and private bathroom in the new apartment. We truly hope to see Teresa and Sven again in the future and to have more positive Workaway experiences like the one we had at their place. Grazie mille, Teresa and Sven ! Ciao! 🇮🇹 -Kristiina & Cam (Canada & France)

Thank you so much for your beautiful words. It truly means a lot to us. 🤍 Spending that week with you was such a meaningful experience — not just in terms of work, but in connection, learning, and shared moments. We’re so grateful you trusted us with your vision and allowed us to contribute through video production, social media, cooking, and everything in between. Your warmth and openness made us feel at home from the very beginning. We learned so much from you and will always carry those memories with us. We sincerely hope our paths cross again soon. Until then, sending you gratitude and good energy ✨ Aditya & Krupangi

Travelling to Cambutal can be a little adventure – it’s possible to do it by public bus, just know that every year around February/March, there’s the Carnaval in Las Tablas which might affect your connections/overlays. But everyone in the region is incredibly friendly, so many people were helping me :) Bruno and Luisa are very nice, interesting and caring people. In the first evening or when some new workawayer arrived, we had dinner altogether – thanks again, Luisa, you have some really good cooking skills! Bruno‘s property is like 10 minutes away from the sea, on the way is a kind of international supermarket and a nice new café, 15 minutes in the other direction is a Panamanian tienda. In addition, during the week, there’s different people passing by from who you can buy eggs, milk, cheese, vegetables or prawn. Bruno and Luisa will ensure that you know about these opportunities. I stayed with them for 8 working days and spent these with removing rust from the roof of the container apartment, sanding and painting wood, as well as painting the ceiling in the little casita that they’re building right now. Bruno handed the responsibility over to me so that I make it nice. Outside work, I of course went surfing. I started with a foamie and when Bruno saw my skills after some days, he made me change to a shorter epoxy board to keep me challenged and to make progress. I felt that was quite caring! Also, he didn’t get mad at me when I returned with a broken fin on one board and he especially didn’t get mad at me when I accidentally dinged the other board, only two days later. (While I of course felt incredibly bad!) Instead, he was more concerned whether I got injured. The life in Cambutal is calm, sometimes there‘s an event. I witnessed a live music evening, a market and the annual fishing competition including a fiesta. The community is rather small, international though, and I soon knew many faces. I feel like many people are couples and/or families and it wasn’t so easy to meet people in their 20s. Though, I made a Panamanian friend while surfing and in my last evening at the fishing competition, another guy approached me nicely, so if I had stayed longer and also, if my Spanish was better, maybe it would have developed. Because the people are nice and curious! Cambutal is a good place to experience some solitude (if you want), so I wished to having brought more books. And fyi, there’s no ATM but many places are cash only (but both supermarkets take card). If I had asked Luisa/Bruno for advice on these little issues, we probably could have easily worked something out as both are solution oriented and well connected, but I wasn’t bothered enough to approach. Towards the end of my stay, Bruno proactively asked around for other workaway opportunities for me and recommended me, so that I got an offer. All in all, it was a good experience! I enjoyed my tasks, Bruno and Luisa are nice hosts and I felt it was a fair exchange! Thank you so much for those days!

¡Gracias, chicos! :)

Saroja and his family welcomed us in a warm family vibe. We directly felt home and connected with the others. The work with the goats is not very demanding and they have a beautiful garden that must be even more after winter 😀

This lovely laid-back hotel, built right on the sea, was recently acquired by a couple from the USA, Mike and Jamie. They are really friendly and easy-going, it was easy to make friends with them and their dogs. It's undeniable that they are really pouring all their hearts into this place to make it their own and make it even better. The building currently needs some care, so I mostly worked with Mike and helped out with maintenance, repairs, painting, woodworks, electrics etc. He's a real handyman, and it was always pleasure working with him. Apart from this, as a workawayer, you may help with anything that's needed around the house. It feels quite spontaneous and full of life. Life is slow and relaxed in Bocas, you feel like you are part of a big family, and you will have plenty of free time to relax, or visit amazing beaches, surf, hike, snorkel / dive, bike, go kayaking straight from the hotel dock, do yoga, cook, go to bars, etc. You are outside in perfect fresh air and climate the whole day: for me, after working many years in a corporate environment, this feels like heaven. Guests are mainly from Europe, they are all clean, respectful and not too loud. It's a great opportunity to meet people from different countries! It's also a good place to improve your Spanish with the local staff Glendy, Julia, Martin and Freddy. The sleeping arrangement is perfect, you have your own little loft with a good mattress, which gives you a bit of privacy. Sleeping to the gentle sound of the waves every night is a really special feeling. A big thanks to you, Mike and Jamie for your trust and making this unforgettable experience possible! I couldn't have found a better place for my very first workaway.

It has been a great experience! Fiona and Manuel are very welcoming, kind and will explain everything needed. I had to spend a night at the hospital and they did everything to help and support me! The work leaves plenty of free time and it's never too tiring. It's also quite varied and there is the possibility to work on different tasks: gardening, woodword, prouning, planting, etc. The place is situated in a great location which is isolated but not too far from the city. Thank you for everything!

Nuri was an excellent host, great chef and tour guide. From expertly guided tours around town to plates piled high with delicious traditional Turkish dishes, every day came with its own treat. The location couldn’t have been better, just out of Trabzon but still within walking distance. The work itself was varied and interesting, so no two days felt the same. A truly memorable Workaway experience all round.

Sorry for the very very late review Anna. Anna is a kind, considerate, and able to get down to tasks young woman, who is honest and hardworking . She can be a little over eager at times, meaning that she did not always listen fully or in a concise way to detailed instructions and in her enthusiasm to help would sometimes get things a bit mixed up, but this was coming from a place of trying to do her very best . She volunteered at a time of huge loss, heartbreak, extreme grief and sadness and massive challenges as my life partner passed away while she was here. I am very grateful for her kindness and support, as of the other volunteers too , at this time. It was not easy for either the volunteers or myself . Thank you for everything Anna.

The Most beautiful family in the world!!!! I stayed with Maire, Declan, Mariana, Florence and Micheal for a few months this year. This is a very special family who I know will be in my heart always. I devoted time to their 3 beautiful children and supported their new addition of young Micheal. I would highly recommend anyone seeking to visit this beautifully serene area of Western Ireland. Please only visit if you share the love of exchange, culture and compassion.

We spent 2 amazing weeks at the Hanft finca! Timo was an amazing host, he brought us in different places and we really enjoyed it. He was super enthusiastic about the aquaponics system and the tilapia pool. We learn a lot, we did different tasks and never felt boring. We also learnt to do pretzels and had amazing time in the kitchen with Timo! The food was a lot and very good! But the most exciting moment of the day was playing Rummikub with Gertrud, a very nice and sweet woman who we miss already! There are a lot dogs, who are super energetic and affective (they lick a lot). We would do this experience again and again!

Harmyn came and dog sat our greyhounds for a week and was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate recommending her to any potential hosts. She was friendly, easy going and easy to talk to and looked after the dogs very well. The house was left immaculately and she gave us regular updates and photos of our dogs. I imagine she would fit in anywhere and would be a good addition to any work setting or household. Thank you Harmyn and I hope you have a great time on the rest of your travels.

I was with at the finca for almost 3 weeks, and my experience was amazing. Luz has a huge heart, she is so generous and welcoming, always worried about the volunteers´ wellbeing. I helped with a touristic project and also at the veggie garden, which was amazing. Tasks were not so clear at the begining, but if you have some initiative, creativity and the will to contribute, you wil find yourself so much to do. The finca is stunning, so I enjoyed some evening walks, yoga at the look point. Getting there from Armenia is super easy, and visitng towns around is also super accesible with public buses. I definitely recommend it for other travelers, either solo, couple or groups. And I´d definitely go back once.
