  • Description

Hi, we're Rebecca and Niko from Germany. In 2016 and 2017 we travelled the world, getting to know South and Central America, New Zealand, Australia and some parts of Asia. We mainly stayed in private homes so we know how it is to be welcomed as complete strangers in other people’s home. We are a quiet and clean couple who respects our host's privacy and we didn’t have a single problem with any of our hosts during our travels.

If you’d like to get to know us a little bit better please feel free to ask us for the URL of our travel blog we wrote during our trip. We could also help you setting up your own blog!

We live in Düsseldorf where - thanks to the many Japanese residents – we often enjoy Japanese kitchen including authentic and delicious sushi. In our free time we both enjoy reading, cooking, baking and hiking. Rebecca studied English and Spanish linguistics and Niko physics. Rebecca enjoys learning languages, Yoga, DIY and art projects whereas Niko is fond of computers, numbers and programming and he recharges his batteries in the woods.

We’re experienced in painting walls and furniture – our bright yellow cupboard is proof of our neat way of working. We used to have a small garden and both enjoy gardening. Now we grow our own vegetables on our balcony! We’d like to know more about organic farming so we’d we pleased to help you with that.

We'd be happy to assist you with your household, smaller repair works or computer issues. We regularly took care of Rebecca’s grandmother. That means we cooked for her, accompany her to the bathroom and go for a walk with her. From time to time we also took care of our neighbour’s cat and we are now having a foster dog who stays with us regularly.

After spending a few years in permanent office jobs, we are both self-employed now. Niko works as a programmer and Rebecca is an artist who gives art workshops. She has also started to give German classes and will start a training to be able to give German classes to foreigners on a professional level.

We feel the urge to get to know the world again, work with our hands and teach and learn something useful. We both speak English, Rebecca also speaks Spanish and some French and right now she is even learning Polish. She'd be extremely happy to find somebody to teach her Sinhala because she has been to Sri Lanka several times and would love to be able to communicate with those who don't speak English.

We’re looking forward to meeting YOU and a lot of like-minded people 🙂 Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions !
