Description
My husband and I own a chateau on 27 hectares of land in the Correze region of France. The home is located in the environs of Tulle and Argentat.
We are a fun loving couple in our sixties and have grown children and grandchildren who live abroad. We have spent our lives living and working all over the world and I speak 5 languages while my my husband speaks 2.
We require assistance with a range of gardening, house tasks, building & DIY, eco projects and small repairs. The work will be on the grounds of the chateau and some minor projects in the house itself. Workawayers will not be asked to help with any paying guests or on the houses where guests may be staying. You will have the afternoons to yourself. A drivers license is preferable and a car can be made available if you've been driving for more than 5 years. We also have a full range of bicycles and helmets for Workawayer use. We have all the tools and gardening equipment required and the Workawayers will be housed either in the Clock House, a recently renovated residence very close to the chateau or in the chateau itself.
We are located in a picturesque medieval village and after 45 years of hard work, we are now retired.
There is much to see in the area including a beautiful lake very nearby and we also have a large pool which can be used by workawayers after a good day's work.

Nous avons besoin d'aide pour divers travaux de jardinage, travaux ménagers et petites réparations. Un permis de conduire est préférable et une voiture peut être mise à disposition. Nous avons tout l'équipement et les outils nécessaires pour le travail. Les workawayers seront hébergés dans une résidence privée séparée et récemment rénovée.
Nous sommes situés dans un village pittoresque et nous sommes retraités.
Il y a beaucoup à voir et à faire dans la région et nous avons également une grande piscine qui peut être utilisée par les workawayers après une bonne journée de travail.

We will be working alongside the Workawayers. The house is often visited by friends and family, and we welcome the Workawayers at our table and by the pool. As the daughter of an Australian diplomat married to a French/American retired Investment Banker, we have lived throughout the world and have family all over the world as well. We are thus very much used to welcoming people from different cultures and 5 languages can be spoken in our home. We can show the Workawayers some of the beautiful sights around us. Transport can also be provided if needed and there are plenty of bicycles of all sizes to use.
Help
The Workawayers will spend some of their workday in the garden, weeding, hedge-trimming, lawnmowing, tree pruning, pool cleaning etc. All the tools and safety equipment needed are available. There are also some interesting small eco and infrastructure projects to be done for those with that experience. It is a large property and there is always something to do. We will often be helping alongside you. If the weather is poor, there might be some painting or other tasks to be done in the main house.

Accommodation
The Workawayers will reside, either in their own fully equipped three bedroom cottage adjacent to the chateau or in the chateau itself and of course use of the large pool when there are no guests. Lunch and dinner will be provided by us, although we expect help in preparation and cleaning up afterwards.
What else ...
In their free time, the workawayers can explore the area and partake in the many activities provided nearby. A car can be made available at certain times and bikes are always available. There is a beautiful lake just minutes away by bike, canoeing on the Dordogne, Stand up paddle and waterskiing on another nearby lake.
