Looking for a Change of Pace? Want to Recharge and Get Your Hands Dirty?
If you're passionate about nature and self-sufficiency, or just want to dive into a creative project, we’ve got plenty of opportunities to explore. Ever dreamed of helping with animals? Or building something unique with your hands? Maybe you're into painting, crafting, or even constructing a cozy outdoor fireplace? Here, you can balance work with rest—giving your body a workout while also nourishing your soul. If you're in need of some quiet time, or even looking to connect with your spirituality and learn about Norwegian traditions, this is the perfect environment for growth.
I live on a small "minifarm" on the edge of Hokksund, a charming town about an hour from Oslo. We don’t have livestock ourselves, but our neighbors have cows and horses, so there’s plenty of opportunities to interact with animals if that’s your thing. We also have our lovable cat, Sara.
We’re a close-knit family—a single parent household with two kids (6 and 10 years old), both fluent in English. Our family thrives on sustainability and restoring old treasures. Everything we create and care for is with the intention of spending less, so we can travel and experience the world together.
Our little crew is a bit geeky, too—we’re obsessed with Star Wars, Doctor Who, and all things nerdy! Kjetil (the kids' dad) isn’t with us full-time, but he’s an essential part of our family. He’s a musician and game writer. Adriana (that’s me!) am a therapist-in-training and a licensed life coach, and I also work in healthcare.
The location is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts—only about an hour from Oslo by car or train, surrounded by nature, big farms, and endless opportunities for hiking, cycling, or skiing. If you're curious about life in Norway, want to learn some new skills, or just need a change of scenery, come join us!Types of help and learning opportunities

When Olga came to us I had just lost my father and there was a void in the house after him, which meant that we did not quite get mush done. The jobs simply stopped for a bit.
