It was nice working with you. I just hope next time you can follow the rules and check the information earlier before leaving. Anyway, thank you for staying with us for a while.

My time here in Merida was amazing. Ive stayed here for 4 weeks and during that time I’ve met many new people and longterm friends. The work was very chill, i hosted different kind of activities. And enjoyed cooking the familly dinner, in the beginning this was a bit scary to cook for 15 people but it is actually really fun to see people like your food… i also enjoyed talking/connecting with all the guests and going on trips with them and exploring merida city. All The staff here were very kind. Sergio the manager of the volunteers was always here to support me if i had any troubles with something and he was also a good friend. The hostel itself was clean and beautiful. I would have stayed longer if it wasn’t for Meridas hot humid climate :p Hope to be back in the near future :)

I really enjoyed working with you and you did the job well. I just hoped for a bit more perspective beyond the work we created. Still, it was a good experience. Hope we work together again. Thanks for everything!

i’ve just realized i hadn’t written my review yet — i’m sorry about that! i had such an amazing experience here. i volunteered for a month and a half (october–november 2025) and, after a while traveling, it was the first time in a long time that i truly felt at home. having my own room in such a beautiful house made it even more special. pavlos and antje are amazing hosts. they are always happy to help with anything — whether it’s about the work, something you need in the city, or anything else. communication was always easy and clear. during this time, you will see zakynthos breathing olive harvesting, and it’s such an intense and authentic experience. you work every day, and on rainy days you can go to the city and enjoy a couple of beers in a traditional bar. the work can be hard, so i recommend changing tasks during the day (for example, half a day with the nets and half a day with the sticks). this helps avoid repetitive movements and possible injuries. giannis is a special bonus! this man in his 60s runs through the fields like a child. even though he doesn’t speak english, i had such a beautiful connection with him. tapas, hope and all the cats are always around, making everything even more special! i left feeling incredibly grateful to have met these people — they will always have a place in my heart!

Natali, Sarah and Anna are three wonderful Workawayers. Not afraid to get their hands dirty. Yes, a little nervous around spiders and other creepy-crawlies, but that didn’t let it stop them from getting the pesky weeds out, joining forces with some other Workawayers. We had one big happy family, all got on really well together and we all made a great “crew” at the quiz night at the local pub. They will be welcome back when they return north. We wish them well on their southern adventure.

It was really helpful that Soul came. She was here for six weeks, and strangely enough, from the very beginning, our family felt a closeness to her. She's very intelligent, flexible, quietly observes and understands situations, and seems to have the knack for getting along with everyone. I'm not good at English, but she understood most of what I meant, and she's a very good listener, so I talked a lot. Although she said she hadn't cooked much for others, she was very skillful and entertained us with dishes from not only Korea but also various other countries. She also took her Japanese lessons very seriously. I think I was lazy as a teacher because she was such an excellent student. She learned a lot of Japanese and surprised everyone around her. In Japan, there was a lot of news reporting anti-Japanese sentiment in Korea and there is also a sense of rivalry between the two countries as neighboring countries. So I actually didn't have much of an affinity with Korea. She is my first Korean friend, excluding Koreans living in Japan, and I now have a good impression of Korea. I'm sure my children won't hate Korea when they grow up. Far away friends are great, but nearby friends are great too, because we can easily visit each other.

This place is somewhere I believe everyone should experience at least once when visiting Ireland. When I applied and arrived I did not really know what to expect but I was surprised by the very pleasant and dense time I spent there - dense as in: A lot of lively things happened in a rather short matter of time. I spent less than two weeks there, I think, but I still had an amazing time there, especially getting to know the people there. As a workawayer you will mostly be cleaning, organizing, making beds and cooking food if you can cook and will work by a schedule. It is a rhythm you will get used to in no time even if it seems overwhelming at first. During breakfast, lunch and supper you will get to know all kinds of people - those working there full time, as well as visitors and of course the volunteers you will be a part of. I don't know if I was just lucky or if it is the place itself, but I really got along well with everyone and really enjoyed everyone's company. I had the great pleasure of working together with Jack, Susan, Lassie and Louise for the majority of my stay. We really grew together, like a group of friends since childhood and while I am not actively in contact with them after my stay, I cherish the memories I made with them and of course I cherish the fond memories I made with the staff there as well. Desmond for example is such a unique person and shockingly young spirited. I mean, he literally played hide and seek with us once. Sometimes you will miss the privacy of other hosts or your home and I personally missed a usable connection to the internet there, but for a couple of weeks it is something that you can arrange with.

It has been an absolute pleasure having Maggie and Arnaud. They are delightful people and have been very easy to live with. They have been making beautiful meals and Arnaud has taught me to cook a couple of things. They have been extremely helpful around the home, fixing things, handyman work, cleaning, but best of all cooking! I can’t recommend them highly enough!! Thanks for everything and you are welcome back any time🙂🙏

Pablo is an excellent host. The land that his family have preserved for the past 30+ years is a magical place with beautiful paths through the forest. There are ancient trees on the property and their love of the land is evident in all of their creative interventions. The name of this place means "sky earth" in English and it is indeed, a kind of heaven on earth. We loved staying in the simple but very cozy cabin provided to us. Pablo and his family made sure that we were well taken care of. Even on the rainiest days, we were able to stay warm and dry thanks to the abundant firewood and marvelous wood stoves in our quarters. The work asked of us was manageable and Pablo was great at providing guidance and letting us know exactly what we needed all the while being very encouraging and appreciative of our work. There are 50 hectares of property to explore here, but if you are travelling by bus to get there, you will find that it is somewhat remote. It is a 30 minute walk to the main road to the park, so be prepared to quiet down and enjoy the beautiful solitude of their place. That said, Pablo encouraged us all to take a hike in Huerquehue park and helped us get to the entrance (walkable, but far on top of hiking in the park). It was a magical day and we were very grateful for the opportunity provided to us. The park is incredible and worth the extra effort to get there from Pucón. Pablo clearly loves the area and was very informative about local culture and people. We got to enjoy some local food and beer with him and the other WorkAway people that were there; all in all -a memorable experience. We enjoyed our time there and extended our stay for a bit. Highly recommended! On recommande fortement!

I spent my time with Pippa in November and December of 2025. It was a truly enjoyable time there and it was a pleasure to get to know some of her super nice friends and help them out as well. I spent the usual day however working the stone walls which is like Tetris, except it really works your body. It is exhausting and honest work but all the more satisfying once you see how much you have accomplished - I managed to repair three pieces of the walls. Pippa usually prefers to take in couples or friends, though I came all by myself and I understand her preference, as the work can get quite lonely. If you got good company then it will be a lot easier and more enjoyable, I am sure. I do not know when I will return to visit Pippa and see Mount Neiphin and Richard and Avery but I am certain that one day I will. It did feel like family after all. If you are looking for a generally good experience in Ireland, I wholeheartedly suggest this. The pubs of the local village are also not far away and the bedroom is incredibly cozy and offers everything you would need while traveling or as a student, including a heated blanket which I really grew to love - nothing better than jumping under the heated blanket after a long day of moving boulders. And the evenings were mostly spent together in the living room, watching some series, films or just some good old TV. If you are a sporty type of person then I dare you to climb Mount Neiphin because I sure as hell was not sporty enough for it - the view I did earn myself was amazing nonetheless. I don't really know what else to say, Pippa is a wonderful woman and I think the overwhelming majority of those wanting to see Ireland will feel right at home at her place. And I wish for everyone visiting her that you get to know her amazing friends as well. Just do yourself a favor and don't go to Ireland in autumn or winter. Of course you can do that, I did it as well but I promise you, it will be much more enjoyable when the weather is nicer.

My time with Arana, Nick, Minnow, Bruni and their family and friends was so special. They made me feel like a natural part of their lives and shared their space, time and knowledge with me so so generously. I learnt so much in my time with them. Cooking and pickling, composting, mulching and brush cutting, muraling and mosaicing. Everyday felt like an opportunity, it's no wonder I was sad to leave! Lorinna is magic and just know that if you have made it as far as reading this you are on the brink of somewhere very special! I miss our delicious shared meals, the beautiful scenery and the garden. Thank you for receiving me so warmly, for the chats that made me think, and for being a breath of fresh air in this crazy world! Lots of love, until next time ❤️

Gabriele & Francesco Maria stayed with us for about two weeks. We loved to have the two men here on our property. It was great to see these young people with their enthusiasm and positive approach to life. Gabriele and Francesco where very eager to help, blended in beautifully and were very respectful toward us, the dogs and the property. They worked quite hard and liked the different task we had on offer, it was a delight to have them. Their cooking skills are amazing and we enjoyed their food every single night as Gabriele and Francesco are very passionate about the Italian Cuisine. We can highly recommend the two to anyone who would like to have great help and great company. We would have them back anytime. We wish Gabriele and Francesco all the best for their journeys.

I spent more than two weeks in the wonderful, somewhat enchanted, quiet, yet never boring Lobitos and the magical surf camp run by Loana and Johnny, a gem by the sea. The morning work consisted of cleaning and tidying up and doing some beautification. In the afternoons and evenings, I had free time—surfing (Johnny is a great teacher), swimming, and wandering over rocks and through ruins. And I slept so good with the sound of the sea. It was a wonderful, easy time with great people at the camp and very welcoming hosts. Saying goodbye was really hard for me and hopefully I can make it back some day.

Wonderful experience working for Harim! We had the chance to explore lots of cities in Morocco while simultaneously learning about Moroccan culture from the students. We stayed in the downtown Casablanca location which was very walkable from sights, activities, and the train station. A very special Workaway with great people! highly recommend!!

I had a great time here, the staff is kind friendly, the activities of the volunteership were varied, there’s always something to do in Cali. The free group classes are awesome with amazing teachers. One of the best experiences that I had had.
