  • Description

    Hi everyone!

I'm Sarah :) I recently left my job at a livery yard in the hopes of travelling the world and having an adventure!
I love working with animals and don't shy away from some tough manual labour. I'm happiest when I'm outdoors, and I'm used to a rainy day. I have aspirations to become a farrier, but it is a 4 year apprenticeship so I want to travel first before getting stuck in.

I'm Natali:) I finished my undergraduate degree in Toronto, Canada, this past June in geography. I love learning about (and exploring) new environments and cultures, and am so excited to be embarking on this new adventure in New Zealand. I am looking to continue my studies in urban planning but am taking this year to travel with my two childhood friends, who's schedules luckily lined up with mine:)
I love to spend my free time biking, hiking, crafting (and a couple more "-ing"s), going on backcountry canoe adventures or urban walks with my dog, and I love to learn a new skill!

We are excited to go to New Zealand and experience a whole new culture and way of life! We love hiking and look forward to getting out and seeing the New Zealand countryside (we are also hoping to see a bit of New Zealand's wildlife :D )

    Sarah:
After finishing secondary education, I did a year long course in animal care where I learnt to care for mostly dogs, cats, and exotic small pets like lizards and rats. The course also had a short dog grooming module.

I've just left my job of 4 years in a local livery yard where I worked as a stable hand/yard manager. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and loved working around horses. My daily duties included feeding horses, turning them out to their designated fields, cleaning out and putting hay into 24 stables, and general upkeep of the yard. I'm used to hard work in all kinds of weather!

I also love sewing and embroidery as a hobby, and have repaired a few holes and seams in my clothing.

    Natali:
Last year I volunteered for Outward Bound Croacia through the European Union Solidarity Corpse, where I am my fellow 20 volunteers carried out a serios of projects, including general upkeep of the grounds (gardening/weeding; cleaning; stacking wood), carpentry (building wooden-framed obstacle courses for future programs; building tables; using power tools), and painting a mural along the staircase.

I have also worked at a riding center, carrying out daily duties associated with both animal care (turning out horses, feeding, grooming) and customer service (office work, tourist treks, pony camp).

In my free time, I've also picked up crafty hobbies, including crochet, watercolor painting, clay sculpting, and baking.

In our downtime, we would love to do a "craft exchange" where we all teach each other one of our skills!
