PLEASE CONTACT US AFTER SEPTEMBER 20th 2025!!!!
Hello - or gia sou in Greek - to you all!

Me and my partner ( in life and small business ) live on the beautiful island of Zakynthos in Greece where we have our farm. Here we grow olives organically which later will become our amazing organic native extra virgin olive oil! The factory is just down the road and it is possible to watch the whole process. ( You'll be blown away because here the oil is the real stuff in colour and flavour )
We are looking for 2 helpers during the olive harvest between approx 17th of October up to Christmas - depending on the harvest progress.
Regarding the job - it is physically demanding work, from holding the harvest rods up into the trees, and moving nets along the ground, but at the same time it's such a pleasure to work outdoors between the olive groves. All in all this is a lovely opportunity to dive into traditional Greek life and learn all about harvesting, care and product.

You'd be living next door in our holiday house or with us - we will decide this later.
We are not close to town ( which is getting quiet at that time of year anyway, not much happening ) and getting around won't be easy as there is no public transport ( but you can reach the sea on foot or with a bike from us ) This year I am not able to be there myself, so we are thinking of the following-
Needed is one helper, female or male, to help on the fields.
Plus another helper to split time between preparing some simple food for lunch breaks ( traditionally salad, cold cuts, bread, olives ) and a warm meal for the night - and additionally helping on the fields if needed.

Since we offer food ( lunch and dinner ) and accommodation we will pay half of the 8hours worked according to local standard.

PLEASE NOTE!! : Harvest time means HARD work - we understand that both sides require a certain amount of flexibility - we all have to see how it goes and feels - however please don't view this opportunity as a holiday with some work alongside - we need a standing (!) team and the team is absolutely crucial to the result of the harvest ( the olives can't wait, they need to be picked asap or otherwise we'll loose them ) People here usually work 8hrs 7 days a week during this time ( with only rainy days being unpaid days off ) we won't ask this of you but we need you for 6 days for 8 hours a day, ideally committing to the full period, so we are able to crack on.

We have two lovely dogs who will join you all on the fields, plenty of chickens and our cats :)

We'd love to hear from you and even more to be meeting you!
    Take care
    Antje and Pavlos

You'll be part of our Greek culture, you may catch some Greek, German or English language but during this time the harvest has priority above all - our place is on a hill with an amazing view over the Ionian sea. You can use our bikes to cycle to the beaches ( the closest is approx 10 mins away ) Town is a bit of a stretch but on occasion can be arranged if we have to go. However, small local shops are closer by. The island is getting quiet at this time of the year and there's hardly any public transport :)

    Help

help during the olive picking season. We will be harvesting with our special tools, moving nets, filling crates, lifting nets, It is very physical and requires strength and healthy neck and arm muscles but it's a really nice experience to work between the groves! The temperatures are great at this time over here.
