Description
RAUNØY, MASFJORDEN
Do you want to join our farm at a private island in Masfjorden? If you're found of animals, nature and like fishing. You can enjoy your own company and like the feeling of freedom and living close to nature. Then this workaway destination is for you.
ABOUT YOU: You need to be independent and feel safe to be alone for up to two weeks. You can't be afraid of the sea (it's an island), and should have knowledge with boats, but we will teach you if not. You can apply as a couple, friends or single (we want to apply for two people so you can have company and help during your stay).
THE WORK: Firstly we need help with looking after and take care of the farm animals (chickens and goats). Secondly is maintenance at the farm; the fences, the house, boathouse, goathouse, pier and road. Training will be given.
WE OFFER: We provide you food and accomodation at the farm during your stay. You can also fish and use the eggs and vegetables from our garden. If you have a pet you want to bring, that can be possible (just be sure that it won't hurt the island animals). We (Merete, Martin and Jorunn) will come and stay with you as often as possible, but you must feel safe to be alone as well. You will be given free time to go visit the city and surroundings of Bergen during your stay. We have internet access (4/5G) so if you are a digital nomad or have work online you bring with you, that can be possible.Types of help and learning opportunities

My tasks were for example: to isolate the chickenhouse (so they won´t get cold in winter), to collect wild berries for the goats to eat and to go fishing.

The work itself was easy and I was treated very… read more
