Staying with Katina was such a special experience, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first Workaway. From the moment I arrived, she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and at home. Being so far away for the first time could have been overwhelming, but Katina made it feel easy, she truly cares about the people who stay with her and wants everyone to have the best possible experience. The tasks were easy and the hours are clearly communicated. And of course, I can’t forget the cats! They brought so much joy to my time there, I especially miss Michonne and Timmy so much already. I’m so grateful for everything Katina shared with me during my stay. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking for an unforgettable Workaway.

I really enjoyed Adria and Judit's visit. Perhaps what I enjoyed most were the conversations we had on a very broad range of topics. They are both highly intelligent, professional people who have travelled widely and their breadth of life experience made them very interesting conversationalists. I learned heaps about Catalonia in particular, and Spain to a lesser extent. Being highly trained in their respective fields certainly didn't make them at all arrogant or aloof as they got down and did whatever work was needed around the farm. They showed initiative too, doing some tasks without me always having to direct them. I was dealing with an injury while Jusit and Adria were staying and they were both very considerate in helping out around the house. Adria is a great cook and I got to try several Catalonian dishes that he likes to cook, while Judit always ensured the kitchen was left spotless after every meal. I'm very happy to recommend them both to future workaway hosts.

What a splendid time we had at Damien’s – so much so that we extended for a third week with him. Lorinna and the surrounding region have spectacular nature, but the farm itself is just beautiful: full of native trees and huge ferns, teeming with all sorts of birds, and home to wallabies, pademelons, and possums, among other creatures. Our routine was very pleasant: we had an early start in the fields, followed by mid-morning breakfast, and we continued working until lunch time; the afternoons were all ours to chill or explore. Although there was a lot of weeding to do in the carrot patch (we dubbed our campaign “The Amaranth Wars” – which we actually enjoyed!), Damien always tried to give us a variety of tasks to keep us entertained, and we also ended up brush cutting, splitting wood, planting veggies, mulching, installing an irrigation system for the potatoes, and even helping drench his flock of sheep, which was very interesting. In our free time we enjoyed exploring the huge property, going to the lake nearby, doing some hiking, or just relaxing in one of the nicest accommodations you can find on WorkAway :) Damien was a fantastic host. Thoughtful, genuinely curious about our backgrounds, generous with his knowledge and with his space (what a marvellous home he built, we absolutely loved cooking in his kitchen!), and caring for our wellbeing at all times. He is an intelligent man with a very interesting life story, a good sense of humour, and great cooking skills – because he’s also a modest person, he won’t agree to this, but it’s all true. The day usually ended with a shared dinner, and we enjoyed many good conversations and nice meals together, for which we are grateful. One night, Damien hosted a delicious potluck dinner with family and friends, and another day he took us to a great gathering with other WorkAwayers, organised by one of the other very cool hosts in the area (Arana & Nick – thanks guys!). We also enjoyed spending some time with Damien’s daughter and family, who were super kind and friendly to us- they even took us on an amazing hike to the Cradle Mountain National Park, one of the most beautiful natural sites we got to experience during our time in Australia. Willow the black Kelpie was a great addition to the team, and it was very cool to see the trusting relationship between her and Damien. We can only recommend staying at Damien’s to anyone enjoying proper farm work, good food, off-grid living, and authentic cultural exchange. Thanks Damien, we’ll wait for you in Europe whenever you take the trip!

April was only with me for a few day while I attended a couple of dog shows. In that time she looked after the dogs extremely well. I would recommend her to anyone and hopes April comes back to visit. I can not fault her. Thanks April

We had a really pleasant stay here and truly enjoyed our time. the environment felt comfortable and easy to live in. The house is very well-equipped and has everything you might need, especially the kitchen, which had plenty of ingredients and tools, making cooking both simple and enjoyable. overall, we felt very comfortable in daily life. We also had the chance to be involved in many different activities during our stay. We cooked a lot together, and sharing meals was one of the most enjoyable parts of our time there. We helped with cleaning and daily tasks, and we also learned many new practical skills. As complete beginners, we even got an introduction to welding, which was very exciting for us. We participated in painting, gardening, and various construction tasks like shoveling, building stairs, working with cement, and filtering sand. We also helped in making and maintaining the garden, cleaning the attics, and lighting the stove every day with wood. One of the highlights for us was learning how to bake bread from Elham, which we truly enjoyed and will always remember. The host is not very social, but for us, this created a calm and relaxed environment where everyone could enjoy their own rhythm. Overall, we had a great experience and It was hard saying goodbye specially to the cats and the best dog in the world, Popoke. We are grateful for the time we spent here. Thank you for hosting us!

This couple did excellent work at my place. They constructed several hugel culture mounds and built some stairs as well as lots of tidying in the garden. They were able to work independently and got on with all the tasks I asked them to do

Working here for the last 2 months has been amazing! It's a very light workload - teaching is really only on the weekends unless there is a summer camp going on. All of the kids are great and easy to teach because most already know English from school. There is not a lot of structure for teaching - you have the freedom to create whatever lessons and activities you want. The house is amazing, the family is super accommodating to all of your needs, and you get all 3 meals provided every day! Annie is a very kind host and is great at communicating. It's the perfect opportunity if you're looking to work with kids, gain experience teaching English, or just want to be out of Bangkok for a little bit - it's close to the river and easy to relax outside here. The neighborhood is very quiet and serves as a restful break for fellow travelers like me!

Sebastien is really hard working and motivated. During his stay he helped us water all the trees around the farm. He also worked with our farm hands David & Michael to plant some cactus near the fences. He has a great attitude and was always willing to lend a hand and work on extra things on top of the tasks he was given :)

Alberto & Florencia are an absolutely lovely, sympathetic couple. They bring so much warmth and positive energy wherever they go — it was infectious! We felt genuinely happy to have them as guests on our farm; they were respectful, kind, and a real joy to host. We’d love nothing more than to welcome them back anytime. Hope to see you again soon!

Aisie was wonderful to host! She is friendly, has a great personality and was willing to lend a hand in any activities that were happening at the farm. She was busy watering and planting trees, weeding and tending to the garden among many other things. Her contribution was much appreciated and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for help :)

Kenny stayed with us for two weeks, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together. He possesses a wealth of skills, experiences, and stories to tell—and it’s even better when he shares them accompanied by his guitar. He is a responsible individual who strives to do things right; he is willing to help with the needs of the homestead and shows great enthusiasm for learning new things. He assisted us with various projects on the homestead , including construction using cob and other natural building techniques, animal care, painting a door, and repairing our old car. My two daughters got along wonderfully with him; he was patient, respectful, and fun with the girls. Before leaving, he left the space where he was staying very clean and tidy for the next Workaway. We are confident that he would be a positive presence in any situation or setting. He is very in tune with the earth and his environment. With gratitude

I had a great time here! I stayed for about 4 weeks total, with host Mila being very kind, understanding, and flexible for a last minute schedule change. I stayed in an apartment, with a kitchen for cooking and lots of restaurants and markets nearby for food (the Taiwanese dessert place 2 min away was a real highlight). During my time there I helped with research and writing for a website article, proofread and tested a new project offering, and ran a Language Exchange event. All of this was clearly communicated through Trello, and I was able to work on the tasks on my own time with a self-directed schedule. Mila also connected me to the Keelung Language Exchange group, where I was able to meet Keelung natives and practice my Mandarin! This is a great fit for someone who wants a flexible schedule and can manage their own time, and wants to experience city life in Taiwan (Keelung is a great and very dense port town, and Taipei is only ~35 min away by bus). Would recommend!

I believe our workaway connection came exactly at the right place, for all of us. Srdjan and Wannda came here as last-minute workaways, and it felt like it just had to be this way! They brought an amount of life into our house and sanctuary that I can't even describe. The anount of fun but also deeper conversations we had are countless and even while there were some heavy jobs listed, they did them with full passion, knowing that their actions were helping us,the animals and the general cause. Thank you both so much for that. And we will see each other again!

My time here was truly something special. Jane was a wonderful host—warm, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful, always making sure everything felt comfortable and easy. The facilities were great, and the accommodation was cosy, creating a real home-away-from-home feeling from the moment I arrived. And then there’s Charlie, Pixie, and Ruby… you simply can’t help but fall in love with them. They bring so much personality, joy, and heart to the whole experience. This Workaway is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place you feel part of. I leave with a full heart and very fond memories. Highly recommended to anyone looking for something meaningful and memorable.

I had a great one week stay at the farm! Eric and Ezgi were very welcoming and laid back. I was the only volunteer at the time, so I had the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen space to myself. I loved spending time with the animals and the gardeners each day. The working hours are very fair and with plenty of guidance from the gardeners, David and Michael. Eric and Ezgi took me into town on my first day off which was really nice, to do some grocery shopping. I recommend if you appreciate the quiet farm life!
