Description
I’m American but have been living in France for the past 7 years. I love traveling and have visited over 20 countries so far. I’ve been working full-time for the last 5 years, most recently as an HR project manager at a startup, but I recently left my job and am taking a short break before starting again.
I’m hoping to spend this time away from city life (Paris can be exhausting) and do something more hands-on. I really like animals and I grew up with cats and dogs and now end up pet-sitting for most of my friends in Paris. I’d love to help care for animals, learn new skills, and spend time somewhere a bit more calm and outdoors.
Outside of that, I’m into yoga, boxing, cooking, reading, hiking, embroidery, and soap making. I’m pretty easygoing, curious, and happy to help where needed :)

More details about your skills
Professionally, I’ve spent the last few years working in a startup environment as an HR project manager. I’m comfortable with project coordination, staying organized, and juggling different tasks at once. I have experience with content creation, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.), Canva, and general admin/operations support . I’m reliable, structured, and good at following through.
On a more everyday level: I live on my own, so I’m very used to cooking, cleaning, organizing, and generally keeping a household running smoothly.
I also have a lot of experience taking care of animals, especially cats and dogs. I grew up with them and regularly pet-sit for friends. Feeding, walking, cleaning litter boxes, giving meds if needed, and making sure they’re well cared for and happy.
Before my corporate work, I spent over 5 years in the service and hospitality industry as a bartender and server. I’m comfortable working long hours, helping guests, staying calm when things are busy, and being flexible and hands-on. I’m used to working with people and pitching in wherever needed.

30

What else ...
I’d describe myself as an extroverted-introvert: I really enjoy meeting new people and making connections, but I also value my downtime and quiet moments in between social activities. I’m an early riser and love mornings!
I’ve traveled a lot and I’m very comfortable staying in new places, whether that’s hotels, Airbnbs, camping, or shared homes. I adapt easily and am respectful of different ways of living.
This gap year is mainly about learning new things and slowing down a bit. I’m especially interested in farm stays, animal or house sitting, gardening, and potentially charity or community-based projects. I’m looking for relaxed, meaningful experiences and a chance to escape busy city life for a while.
