She is a very reserved and kind person, and although he left a few days early, he was a great help on the farm, always punctual with what needed to be done.

I stayed at the shelter for the month of February and it was a very rewarding experience. I did not have any experience working with animals, but I love them and am very comfortable being around dogs. This it was a great chance to learn . Diamanto and Thomas really care about all of these dogs and put so much time and effort into them and the shelter. All of the dogs are sooo cute too. Really that was the hardest part, because you can’t take them all home with you. The area was wonderful, with the village so close, and a wonderful view of rural Greece. Overall I really enjoyed my stay, I hope I can have the opportunity to volunteer for them again.

It has been a real pleasure having Carmen and her friend Mathilde at our place. They were really motivated with the work (even if some days were quite tough), and would always help with cooking and cleaning. We had some really nice conversations, laughed a lot and we shared some really nice moments. They were also quite independant which was nice so that we all could have our quiet moments. They stayed for a week and then Mathilde had to leave. We also went on hollyday and Carmen stayed to take care of the land. When we came back everything was perfect and clean, she had done the work we asked her to do while we were away and took good care of our animals and plants, it was even better than expected and I would totally recommend her. It has been to short and we would love them to come back at some point!

Natali, Anna and Sarah did a great job stacking firewood and gardening with Grant. The dogs loved the extra attention. The cob webs are gone (for now!) and the windows clean, much appreciated. The trio were strong and capable and worked toghether well as a team. They took great advantage of the area and got out to see as much as they could during the stay. We were very grateful for their respect for quiet in the evenings, as we were all keen for early nights after big days. A pleasure to host.

About 4 months ago, Isa confirmed to arrive here on Mar 18. We started communicating each other on WhatsApp on Jan 29, but on Mar 12, 6 days before her arrival date, she told me that she would arrive here on Mar 29. I accepted the change, but there was no response from her since then. Then she didn't show up on Mar 29, and she is not answering my message.

Kayla Stayed with us for about 9 days. Her stay was full of laughter, fun and enthusiasm. She is very bright and positive, focused and diligent, fantastic discipline and not afraid of hard work. Her garden skills are fantastic she dealt with the weeds, mow the lawn, empty the big compost bins and sieved 700 liters of compost with ease. Helped with the worm farm and and cleared the driveway. Her help in the house was always done superbly. AND... she looked after Svejk so so so well. I think giving him the chance, he will move in with her. Kayla is very intelligent and clear minded. Her world views are well articulated and shows alot of thinking. Her values and compassion are well founded. having Kayla around was such a pleasure and we wish her all the best in her future travels.

What a beautiful experience I had in Chacahua🥲 I stayed for 3 weeks but would’ve loved to stay longer! My volunteer work was in the bar/restaurant, serving customers, helping in the kitchen and washing up. Being in such a beautiful space with an amazing team meant it didn’t feel like work at all. I was provided with a tent and bedding, it was a comfortable stay and I woke up next to the lagoon every day hearing the birds and seeing the fish. I received 2 meals a day which were always something different and delicious. There was always drinking water available. Volunteers also get 50% discount on the food and drinks from the restaurant. During my time here I feel like I really improved my yoga because there were classes almost every day that volunteers can join for free. The space is directly next to the lagoon and a 5 minute walk from the beach, so in my free time, I went surfing and paddle boarding. I can’t criticise this Workaway, just make sure you’re prepared for island life. This means sometimes there’s cuts to the electricity or running water, and you will get covered in sand! It was such a privilege to be part of the first volunteer team here with such an inspiring and diverse group of people. The managers are lovely people with all kinds of skills and experience to share. I miss you all already and I’ll be sure to be back in the future!🫶🏻

Theresa stayed with us for few days and it was great to meet her. She has a very pleasant easy going personality together with a dedicated committed and focused attitude to her allocated tasks. The garden work was tackled with ease and her help around the house was so thorough. After tidying the lounge room we can actually seat on the sofa now after months of absence from use. We had interesting conversations and she demonstrated very clear thinking process and was well spoken and articulated. But best of all she looked so well after Sviejk, our menacing dog. She handle whim with ease and he was so so happy. Theresa, thank you so much for stepping in, in such a short notice and helping us. We really appreciate it and I hope you learnt a bit about different ways of composting .

Hello Phil and Susan, we were pleased to host your visit for the month spent here. Your enthusiasm for what we had to share reminded us how valuable the understanding of farming we offer is to those who have not experienced what we are surrounded with on a daily basis. Your eagerness to tour the unique places around this part of the country inspired us to suggest those places to volunteers. We appreciate that you embraced our home as your own home and made living there more comfortable for the current and future volunteers. You relied upon us to teach you what we knew about farming and improving the land for each new season. You did well on the avocado and citrus trees and green beans are flowering . Your work on the tractor project was better than I could have done because you took the time to do each part of the process patiently and thoroughly. The tractor now looks like new and will last another 30 years. It was inspiring to us to share the food from the farm and teach you the ways that we can prepare this nutritious bounty. We will remember your visit with fondness and you're invited to return should your travels permit. Franklin

We welcomed Dylan into our house for two weeks. It was a great stay. He did a variety of jobs, including: - cutting and stacking firewood - assembling Ikea furniture - gardening - water blasting - a variety of other tasks Always with a smile on his face, eager to learn new skills. He was a great addition to the family. He got on super well with all the kids, playing games and just enjoying their company every night, which was really nice to see. We took him to the cake tin to watch a cricket game and spent a few nights in front of the fire teaching him rugby rules. He was super respectful, well-mannered, and has a good sense of humour, and we wouldn't hesitate to have Dylan back for another stay. We wish him all the best on his future travels.

She was a great help with various projects. Working with so many different animals was new to her. She quickly grasped what to pay attention to. Although we had fundamentally different perspectives on some things (which I attribute to the significant age difference and the fact that I've probably forgotten how I would have reacted at 20), we had a lot of laughs. I think we both learned a lot.

¡Saludos!

Aga was a calm (good for me and the other animals), incredibly reliable helper on the farm (I became ill and she supported me in the best way possible). It was simply a pleasure having her here. How can I express it better than with "I'd have her back anytime"? Thank you Aga. We keep in touch.

Judy, Nigel and Merrin are amazing people to get to know and work with, while Waitangi Farm is a special and peaceful place that you won't regret visiting... we stayed almost a month and wished we could have stayed longer if our plans allowed it. The cottage we stayed in was lovely and had everything we needed, with beautiful farm and sunset views right off the porch. The work was varied and included weeding around native trees and plants, feeding the animals, working in the garden and harvesting apples for cider making. We absolutely loved our weekly dinners and were blessed to share lots of good food and conversation with their family. We definitely left this Workaway with a better understating of permaculture and farm life, many sweet memories and a set of new friends. We look forward to seeing you all again sometime soon.
