    Description

My name is Sol, I am a writer. I live with my three lovely dogs ( Kiam, Jack & Jane), my two horses ( Alarik & Prosapia) and two cats (Moon & Noel). Moon is the volunteer cat and lives in the volunteer part of the house. Our attention is mainly focused on the Finca. The Finca is located uphill with a wonderful ocean view. My dream is for the farm to sew life, that is sustainable and self-sustaining, that grows with the people who have the same views and contributions to the finca. We have lovely vegetable gardens & much land to be explored!!

PHILOSOPHY- Our Finca was born with the conviction that everything is possible when it comes from the heart. We value the importance and respect for all species as well as human needs: "sewing life" recovering this bit of soil / sky, teaching volunteers from around the world and the local community the importance of "back to the basics" in the face of impending climate change.
The soil recovery chain begins with composting, the planting of native tree species combined with edible plants that help with soil nitrogen, while indirectly contributing to the reintroduction of fauna and endemic species in general.

My home is located in Las Tunas, a small village in between Ayampe and Puerto Lopez - Manabi. I am dedicated to recreational research, cultural experiences and adventures. The beach is made for surfing and horse back riding. During the months of December and January, the turtle nests begin to hatch and the slow migration to the ocean begins! From July to October, we can enjoy the Humpback whales from our home.

For the last 18 years, we have had volunteers from around the world make this possible. It's a time dedicated to being with the earth and learning about the importance of being present, with yourself, the animals, and the land.

There is always lots to do!
At 6:45am, we feed the horses. One hour later, we focus on cleaning the horses boxes, and brushing them before they graze in the corral for the afternoon. There are various tasks to do, for example: painting, building and repairing fences, gardening, weeding, and general maintenance for the horses and dogs. The morning shift ends at 12:00pm.

At the end of the day, we feed the dogs and bring the horses back up from the corral for their dinner. This shift is from 4:30-5:00pm.

The dogs are always around and love spending time with the volunteers, so there are lots of opportunities to play with them. The horses stay at the Finca during the day, but sometimes we take them for walks on the beach early in the morning and they love it.

In general, life at the Finca is very calm and relaxed, but never boring. We always have fun !

My horses are Peruvian Paso Fino breed. You can learn about Alarik's story by clicking on this link https://a.co/d/0c8OeYe and see what this horse can achieve, as well as Prosapia, who is shy but very good. She is currently expecting a baby, so we are showering her with love. They are a very important part of this little paradise. Therefore, visitors should come with an open heart and plenty of patience to learn what they don't know.
