Emma and Jannis were incredibly welcoming from the very beginning. I had the opportunity to spend three weeks in their tiny house with them and their animals, discovering a reality full of love. During my days, I helped prepare the stable for the geese and mostly worked in the garden: raising the ground level using stones and pieces of terracotta or ceramic waste, cutting the dead branches of the orange trees, removing weeds, setting up the electric fence for the animals, and making a fire to burn leaves and dry branches that had accumulated due to the winter rains. I often helped in the kitchen as well, preparing things for breakfast and lunch (like a proper Italian girl!). It was a truly wonderful experience. I met two amazing people who shared their daily life with me, always showing interest and kindness. They involved me in many activities, and we also spent time together with their friends and their lovely little girls – cooking pizza, painting, eating out, going to the beach and walking through nature to get to some waterfalls, playing together, and even overcoming language barriers. I always felt welcomed and understood. Even though I had been a complete stranger just the day before, I felt like part of their world. It was a great pleasure to contribute to such a peaceful and genuine environment. I was able to truly experience the beauty of nature, leaving behind the comforts of home and rediscovering the importance of feeling good about what you do and where you live (ps. taking a hot shower outside after a day of hiking while looking at the stars is priceless!) I can’t wait to visit you again and see all the progress of your projects. A big hug!

I have spent a small week with Martina, Lucas and Willy but it has deeply impacted me. Such a warm welcome, with an instant trust. They made me test different therapies and meditation, and I have the feeling that they gave me so much for my life. Thank you so much, and I hope that futur will bring me back there.

I had a great experience at this English school, me and my daughter felt welcomed since the first day, Jonathan is super attentive, always ready to help. The school has a very friendly and positive vibe, all the teachers and students. It is also a very high level english school, all the staff is very professional. I definitely recommend this volunteer experience!

Martin & Juliette made it onto our list of favorite volunteers: super hardworking, cheerful, and willing to help. Awesome couple, learning to speak Portunhol (a mix of Portuguese and Spanish).

I stayed with Rafa and his mother for 3 weeks, and it was a wonderful time:) They were both very hospitable and helpful, I felt like at home. Rafa is a calm, chilled, very friendly person, and a talented musician. The work was as promised, no more than around 3 hours a day, 5 days a week - we did some gardening and painted fences, and the last few days we spent on recording a video clip for his music project. They eat 2 big meals a day (there's always more than you can eat haha), but you can always fix yourself some meal anytime you want. The food was VERY good, mostly traditional Argentinian meals. I stayed in a well-equipped cosy room with a balcony and a life-saving ceiling fan. The house is big, and Rafa has a cosy recording studio with a piano and 2 acoustic guitars on the other side of the garden. The neighbourhood is very calm and peaceful, with plenty of natural spots and opportunities to get lost in the cacti thicket 🌵 I was given a lot of space and freedom, which was really great - I spent a lot time wandering and exploring both with Rafa and on my own. I really enjoyed this stay and I fully and honestly recommend Rafa to anyone who's interested:)

We couldn't have asked for better volunteers than Elin and Sophie. They jumped right into life here with enthusiasm and a 'can-do' attitude. Elin and Sophie helped us with a variety of tasks, from gardening and painting to market/food prep. They helped us get organized ready for our upcoming guests, they work well individually & were an excellent team. They were hardworking, & considerate volunteers who went the extra mile, we highly recommend them to any future host.

Adela has been a very valuable member of our team during her time at our English School. She showed a positive attitude, responsibility, and a genuine willingness to support our students and staff. Her presence brought an international perspective to the classroom, and students felt motivated to interact with her in English. She was kind, respectful, and always open to participating in activities and contributing to the school environment. We appreciate her commitment, energy, and the cultural exchange she shared with our community. It was a pleasure to have her with us, and we truly value the impact she had on our students’ learning experience. We wish Adela all the best in her future projects and hope she always remembers us as a special part of her journey.

Erhard came our home , got on great with all our kids, got stuck into all sorts of work on our farm. Would highly recommend Erhard, hard working , engaging and fun.

It was a treat having Caroline stay with us. She is proactive, very easy to talk to, and was wonderful with our two young children. Always willing to help and very pleasant. Thanks for everything, Caroline!

Miriam stayed with us for a month and was a great help to our family. She was very caring with my daughter, showing such kindness, gentleness, and patience, and it was clear from the start that she has a naturally warm and nurturing way with children. She also helped with a variety of household tasks, always approaching everything with a positive attitude and a willingness to help. She was reliable, considerate, and very easy to have in our home. And gave all the pets lots of attention too so they didn’t feel left out!

Ya extrañamos la hermosa energia de Lai! Super compañera, talentosa, responsable y amorosa. Mas que agradecidos de haber cruzado caminos. Nos dejo un mural increiblee en las paredes de nuestro casita, cocino unos riquisimos pastries, nos ayudo con tareas del campito y le dio mucho amor a nuestra perrita, a nuestra casita y a toda la familia. Working for Jane was an absolute pleasure in so many ways! Her property is beautifully curated and a delight to be on - made up of lush bush, a flowing river (suitable for dips!), fruit trees and flowers. There was good variation amongst the daily projects that kept us engaged and busy. The added bonus was the gorgeous studio, Jane's humor&company, and the delicious dinnertime meals. Coromoandel is a special place, and we are very grateful for our time spent here - thank you Jane!!

Berna y Manu son un amor! Con una energia muy amorosa y tranquila , dejaron ese mismo sentir en nuestro hogar. Se integraron super bien con toda la dinamica de trabajo (en plena temporada alta) y participaron de la creacion de proyectos que hoy viven en el hostel! Le dieron mucho cariño a nuesta perrita Moka , hicieron unos almohadones increibles de colores para el patio, compartimos navidad, guitarreadas, mates, atardeceres, playita, olas y un verano hermoso! Por siempre en nuestras corazones! Afortunados de tenerlos en nuestra familia :)

Una muy buena experiencia con Iso y Rory, chicxs fantasticxs, responsables, trabajadores, atentos y encantadores. Muy amorosos con los animales y el equipo, felices de volver a recibirlos en el refugio!

Beautiful location, AMAZING dogs, great food and wonderful company, the best work away ever? We spent two weeks here - it was so amazing to start every morning with a long hike with the dogs, all amazing and loving in their own ways. We also got to help out at a sterilisation clinic which was great experience. We enjoyed our time with Krizsztina, she was so welcoming and a great chef - we enjoyed our dinners together, especially one evening cooking over the fire with the dogs, beautiful!

Desde el primer momento, mi experiencia con Alejandro en María Pinto fue muy especial. Es una persona con amplios conocimientos en distintas áreas, especialmente en plantas, semillas (es un guardián de ellas), cultura indígena, geografía, arte... Siempre tiene nuevos proyectos en mente, lo que genera un aprendizaje constante. Compartir tiempo con él es muy enriquecedor. Además, es una persona tranquila que crea un ambiente donde los voluntarios se sienten cómodos y bienvenidos. Su espacio es hermoso, acogedor y rodeado de naturaleza. Las tareas fueron principalmente limpieza, pintura y organización del lugar. Gracias Alejandro, por tu generosidad y por todo lo compartido! Me voy muy agradecido y con ganas de regresar!

I spent two weeks here and had an amazing experience. The place is very remote, deep in the jungle in the south of Costa Rica, waking up to monkeys and being surrounded by nature was unforgettable. Colin is a very generous and attentive host. He made sure we were always comfortable, cooked great meals, and took us surfing and boogie boarding. It really felt like being welcomed into his home. The work was mostly construction (we helped build stairs), which was interesting, even if it can be hot. The tents are spacious, comfortable, and well set up. Overall a 5/5 experience. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and immersive stay.

Kathleen and Philippe are incredibly friendly and kind-hearted people. I had a fantastic time staying with them. We cooked together every day, which always led to great conversations and lots of laughter. I also helped them with gardening. During our outings together, they showed me some amazing places, and I met some really nice people. I’m going to miss them both very much, and I highly recommend that everyone stop by and lend a hand.

Our experience with Chris was wonderful. She cooked amazing food; I still haven't forgotten the vegetarian lasagna. Doing yoga together was also a real pleasure. Thank you for being our guest. We hope to see you again.

As soon as I get to the ranch, felt immediately at home, warmly welcomed by Loraine, Jack and their fun kids. I knew I was at the right place when we started to talk about NBA for two hours and my first night ! Loraine and Jack are good communicator, flexible and caring hosts. I always did my tasks with pleasure, learning A LOT from their knowledge and skills, especially about tree planting and preservation ! The cultural exchange part was next-level for me through all our discussions, extremely grateful for that. Big up to the kids/siblings and the local baristas in the studio! Love you my American family 🫶🫶🫶 !!!
