    Description

    Hello traveller.

The local dog sanctuary is a short tuc tuc (taxi) drive away. Dogs need care, walks, and attention.

I have a lovely property nearby, at Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. There are 3 buildings on this property. One of them can comfortably host one or two solo Workawayers or a Workaway couple. This building is the original building, and has a tiled floor and is made of adobe. Bathroom and kitchen are shared with me, the owner. The view from this casita is incredible, and awe inspiring. Lovely trees decorate the property and the view of the lake is nature as art form.

My name is Krisztina. I'm a 55 year old woman who ended up in Guatemala, quite by chance, but have made amazing friends and had amazing adventures. And I'm not done. I would love to meet people from distant lands for cultural exchange, to work together, eat together, laugh together and to elevate our community.

My spot is a serene, clean and healing space. If you need a workaway where you can enjoy alcohol, drugs, tobacco, rap music, or any loud music without headphones, please look for a different host.

For 5 hours of work a day, at the dog sanctuary, I provide breakfast and dinner. I cook dinner and we eat together. I buy what you need for breakfast and you prepare it yourself. Lunch is your responsibility, but if there are leftovers that you want to take with you for lunch, that is fine too. I have a washing machine and internet. So far, all the Workawayers whom I have hosted have really enjoyed their stay here.

If you do choose this volunteer opportunity, please bring clothes and shoes that are suitable for working at the dog sanctuary. You will get a little dirty.

If this opportunity speaks to you, kindly reach out! Many blessings.

Hello friends. I have a property at Lake Atitlan Guatemala, with 3 buildings on it. The work available is volunteering at the dog shelter in the next town which is a 1/2 hour walk away, or a 10 min tuctuc ride away.

During high tourist season I have the pink casita available - it is a large tiled room with two single beds, or one king sized bed for a couple (the beds can be put together to make a big bed). It has a huge sunny deck with chairs and a table. The kitchen and bathroom are shared with me (one person).
I cook dinner and we eat together. I will buy you what you like to have for breakfast and workawayers make their own breakfast.

In low tourist season I also have a fully equipped red casita with its own kitchen and bathroom. The meal arrangements are the same as described above.

There is a LOT to do in the area. From restaurants, cafes, classes, shopping, to healing and personal development seminars, retreats, facilitators, hiking, swimming, enjoying the amazing view of the lake. Travel around the lake on the public boat system to explore the many towns around the lake.

I have reliable Wifi 24 hours a day, plus I use a signal booster. Guatemala has only 3G in this region. Occasionally, when there is a power outage in the town that has the tower there may be outages, but it's rare.
