    Description

Hi I’m Clare, I live in the Irish countryside with my baby girl born Sept '24 and elderly mother, we also have 2 dogs, 5 cats and are getting hens again in the spring. Our home is less then an hour outside Dublin City centre in a quiet little country side village. Our house is on 5 acres we have an organic vegetable garden where we like to grow a variety of fruits vegetables and herbs throughout the year currently giving it a revamp this year so that’ll be a fun project. We are both foodies and love cooking home cooked meals using the produce we grow ourselves and eggs we get fresh every day from our hens. My mum is a total chatter box! and loves having the company of others around.

I am a trained chef and love to cook, I'm passionate about organic and sustainable growing also. In my professional life I work as a food photographer some weeks are busier than others, during busy times I can leave the house very early and come back late in the evening.

I now have my daughter born last September so we are looking for people who have experience with babies and also likes to work outside as well. If there are two of you, one person may be asked to help doing some babysitting or indoor tasks like house cleaning and the other may be asked to do some tasks outside work like gardening.

I work for myself and plan to go back to work this spring, this won't be every day but some weeks there might be more help needed around minding my daughter, I'm happy to pay if this extends the allocated five hours a day. My mother will be here all the times, she just can't mind her on her own as her back is sore and lifting her would be too hard.

Indoor tasks include some cooking or lending a hand in the kitchen to help prepare meals. Helping with daily chores around the house like cleaning and organising.

Some of the other tasks may include smaller DIY projects, from fixing items to painting, clearing sheds and organising. We have a beautiful garden that can always do with an extra pair of hands to help with weeding trimming and cutting the grass. Also there is always something to do in our vegetable garden, like planting and lots of weeding. Helping prepare our hen house for our new hens, clearing and cleaning their little home.

And we can't forget about throwing a ball for our happy dogs and giving them a lot of affection! The cats will probably ignore you or not leave you alone, their choice!

    Accommodation

We live in a four bedroom Georgian Farm House, our comfortable spare room in the house has a double bed and is located right beside the main bathroom. We also have another spare room, larger at the front of the house so depending if we have any family staying with us at the time you you can stay in one of those rooms.

You will have access to the kitchen and there will be food there for you to prepare your own breakfast and lunches and dinners. We will have family meals together in the evenings but it depends on my work schedule at the time, we try to eat together at least 3 times a week. If you could help with setting the table and cleaning up that would be great.

    What else ...

It is handy if you have your own car to get around, we are happy to drop people to the local bus stop or train station whenever possible and to inform you of local attractions and nice things to do on your time off. My mother will be home most days there should be always some one around to chat to. A good understanding of English is helpful also. We love meeting people through this and really appreciate all the help we can get, especially as mum is older and her back problems means she can’t do as much as she would like.
