We are an English couple who have fallen in love with Costa Rica over the last few years and decided we wanted our own slice of paradise in the land of Pura Vida. We are both in our 30s and love the healthy living and eco-conscious environment that Costa Rica promotes. Our casa sits in a remote, rural location on 2 acres of land at the top of a hill over-looking the Golfo Dulce and Pacific Ocean. We have a lovely garden in the Costa Rican countryside and a swimming pool for the hot days. Wildlife is abundant here and Monkeys, Toucans, Sloths and Hummingbirds are regular visitors to our trees and flowers. This remote jungle location is a beautiful place to escape & reconnect, we have limited WiFi and occasional power cuts so we spend a lot of time reading, listening to music and enjoying the natural surroundings. We try to go to the beach at least 3 times a week and can be flexible with your working hours so you can come with us! We will endeavour to show you the local area on your days off but this may not always be possible. We have bicycles you can use to get to our local beach. Large supermarkets & ATMs are around an hour away by car.
Please note that we have 2 cats, Uvita & Macarela

This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We are English and Spanish speakers and always have various projects on the go in the garden and house. We are looking for volunteers who are happy to learn with us on this journey and teach us a thing or two as well.
Looking for someone who's happy to get their hands dirty with us. Ideally painting, gardening or landscaping but as we have different projects on the go its important that you are flexible. It gets pretty warm here in the middle of the day so we start around 6.30/7.00 and offer volunteers the choice to split their hours between the morning and afternoon.
You will be living in our house (with your own private room) and we would also need you to maintain the swimming pool and help keep things clean and tidy. We have bikes you can borrow but be aware we are in a remote, rural location (15 minutes cycle to the nearest shop & nearest beach, half an hour cycle to Playa Zancudo). We also have boogie boards and yoga equip you can use and i'm sure we can squeeze in a few trips to the beach in our truck as well!
Double Room with private bathroom in our house overlooking the ocean. Tv/movies/Sky/Netflix. Book exchange. Private swimming pool & hammocks in the tropical garden. Yoga equip. Darts. Chess. We always have Tucans, hummingbirds and monkeys in our garden, amazing!
In exchange for 4 hours help a day (5 days a week) we will provide breakfast and dinner.
Playa Zancudo has a beachfront bar/restaurant with great wifi. Our beautiful closest beach Playa Langostino is 15 minutes by bike and Playa Pavones is a 25min drive.
Transport : There’s a daily bus leaving Golfito for Zancudo at 3pm. Alternately, you can catch one of the Pavones buses and get off in the village of Conte. In theory, a Zancudo–bound bus should be waiting. The entire trip takes about 3 hours; the fare is around $3.50. The bus goes right by our house before arriving in Zancudo.
Also, a passenger boat from the muellecito (little dock) in Golfito normally leaves at noon daily (or every other day in low season) to Zancudo. The trip takes 30 minutes, and the fare is C6,000. The muellecito is next to the town’s principal gas station, La Bomba (not in the new marina).
If you need picking up from Golfito or Paso Canoas we can come and get you at the cost of $20 per trip.
