Our stay with Willem was a very nice experience. He is a friendly and helpful host who always made sure that we felt welcome and comfortable. The working hours were flexible and considerate. We mainly helped with painting tasks, and Willem always explained the work clearly and adapted the tasks to our respective skill levels. The accommodation was also very nice and cozy. The place is quiet and surrounded by nature, which made the stay especially pleasant and relaxing. Overall, we felt very comfortable during our stay with Willem and would definitely recommend him as a Workaway host.

I spent just 10 days with Beatrice and Marco but I wish it could have been longer! Right from the beginning I felt welcomed and comfortable in their beautiful home. I enjoyed the daily routine of shared cooking and meals, tasks in the garden or around the house, biking and other outings, and ending each day talking or playing games into the night. Maybe one day I will beat Bea at Skyjo! Marco and Bea are very knowledgable about the region and eager to share their love for this place and the people who live here. There was a good balance of work and free time, and they are very accommodating if you have remote work or other things that need to get done. Having a basic level of French would be ideal, but I do not speak any French and communication was never an issue. I felt included in conversation with the many friends and family who stopped by the house for coffee or a shared meal. Both were patient in translating or teaching me basic phrases - and hopefully by the next time I visit I will have learned more! Thank you both for making my first Workaway an unforgettable experience!

We had the most amazing time staying with Erasmo for 2 weeks ! We both enjoyed the work which was nicely varied and interesting. We learnt a lot about restoring furniture and got to make our own spoon from olive wood which was a great experience. The house was busy with other workawayers and we all had a great time sharing our different cultures over a pasta making and traditional dance class with Erasmo! Erasmo communicated really well even in broken English and we got to learn some Italian ! We had a wonderful time sharing and eating fresh food from Erasmo's garden. We got to meet his lovely family who were so kind and welcoming. Spending our free time relaxing by the river and taking a dip was also a real highlight. I would highly recommend this workaway to anybody who is interested in slowing down, enjoying nature and spending time with people.

Liam stayed with us in Nemi and everything went very well. He is a very nice and easygoing guy, helpful, resourceful, and full of great ideas. He made the most of his time here, visiting the town of Nemi, using our bicycle to explore, and enjoying evenings by the wood burner — often in the company of our cat Wadi. Many thanks to Liam for his help, his stories, and his great company. We hope to see him again in the future!

Dempsey is an absolute treasure! She is one of the loveliest young women I have ever had the pleasure of hosting — truly beautiful inside and out. She stayed with me for about three weeks and approached every task with enthusiasm, a smile, and wonderful energy. Dempsey helped with cleaning and organizing and completed everything to perfection. She has an exceptional eye for beauty and design, and somehow everything she touches ends up looking better. She is intelligent, a world traveler, trustworthy, thoughtful, caring, and wonderfully capable with computers and digital tools. She helped me with many technical matters and introduced me to several new things that I greatly appreciated learning. Out on the lanai she worked wonders with my plants, bringing fresh life and order to the space. She even offered to help with planting projects at our Garden Club, which speaks volumes about her generous spirit. One of the most remarkable moments was when she befriended my rather stand-offish bird, Petey — something only one other person has ever managed to do! Dempsey works hard, has great ideas, and offers thoughtful advice. She is quiet in the most pleasant way, yet also a wonderful conversationalist and a fascinating world traveler. She is mindful, careful, respectful, and never imposing. She took great care of my home, and of me making sure I do not lift heavy, and always left everything cleaner and more beautiful than before. It was truly sad to see her leave. The house felt noticeably emptier without her bright presence. If you ever have the opportunity to host this remarkable young woman, you are incredibly fortunate. Dempsey is simply wonderful and I miss her already! Bestvwishes and please let's keep in touch!

I spent one incredible month at Claire and Michiel's place. Since it was my first Workaway experience and because I hadn't worked at a building site like this before, I was very curious what it would be like. In the end it was better than anything I imagined. Claire and Michiel are very empathetic and welcoming people who made me feel at home instantly. Together with their two energetic kids and the other wonderful workawayers, every day was filled with laughter and joy. The work at the mansion house was an equally cool experience. Michiel explained every task with patience and let us choose the task we felt most comfortable with. For me, the work really was an opportunity to grow personally and see what I can do. The music box and group tasks also always created good vibes and funny moments during work hours : ) All in all I'm just very grateful for the time I spent in this special place Claire and Michiel created. They really are great hosts and I hope to come back soon!✨😊

A truly wonderful experience! I spent 1 month here at the spanish school. The staff is so warm and welcoming and everyone here works together to create an inclusive and friendly environment. The volunteering position is great for someone who is outgoing and social. You help welcome new students and host the events throughout the week. I also worked a lot on media and marketing materials while I was there as it was low season so they thought it best to make headway on these projects. Both Cesar and Josie are outstandingly kind people. It was a pleasure to work with them. The accommodation was wonderful. I stayed in the school apartment located in a very cute and safe neighborhood, close to the plaza in Cusco. The spanish lessons were also fantastic and I improved so much in the immersive environment. I highly recommend this workaway. HUGE THANKS for this exchange.

Reon has been very helpful during the two weeks he has stayed here, and I’m very grateful for his hard work and positive attitude. Gardening has been quite busy lately, but he has always done his best with a smile. He has also cooked some great meals and made a lot of progress learning Spanish, despite not knowing a word when he arrived. I really wish him all the best in his future adventures and recommend him to anyone looking for a respectful and friendly guest.

I stayed for three weeks as a volunteer with Paul and Dani. When I arrived, they were still in the middle of some renovation work. Because of that, there were not many guests at the time, and I had a dorm room to myself. During my stay I met many lovely people. Paul was always very friendly, open, and helpful. Unfortunately, due to the renovation work I couldn’t attend many yoga classes, but the classes I joined with Dani were really great and I enjoyed them a lot. I was still allowed to use the yoga room during the renovations, which I really appreciated and enjoyed doing. The work was easy and relaxed. There was always enough time to chat with guests or also spend some time on my computer. Overall, I had a very nice time there and can definitely recommend this place as a volunteer.

I spent more than two months with this amazing family and I can say with certainty this was the best experience I could ever had during my time in Ireland. The place seemed unreal and even if I was there in wintertime I really enjoyed the sea, the beaches, the mountains and the animals. But the best part of it was the way Jasper, Katie and the kids made me feel at home every single day. I felt very walcomed and at ease, they always wanted to make sure that I was comfortable and happy, and they really cared about my needs and my wellness. They are very respectful, kind, generous and open minded people. I never felt pressured or forced to do anything. Lily and Rui are both wonderful kids, I really enjoyed spending time with them, they always brought me joy and made me laugh. I built a very strong bond especially with Lily, a really unexpected and beautiful bond. I think I can't find the right words to describe how grateful I am for all the love this family has given me. If you want to explore an incredible place, try delicious food and have lots of fun this is the perfect experience. I had a really special and unforgettable time and I would do it again a thousand times! Chiara

I spent the whole of February with Simone and her family, and it was exactly as I had hoped it would be, and even better ;) The work was absolutely manageable and also a lot of fun. At the same time, I had a lot of freedom in terms of when I did what, which suited me very well alongside studying for an exam. Being together with the family was also very relaxed and enjoyable: we had game nights together, but there was also plenty of space for peace and quiet, which was the perfect mix for me. At the same time, all three of them have a great sense of humour, so it was never boring at the dinner table ;) The surroundings are also ideal for long walks or simply enjoying a cup of tea outside and watching the animals. I had some very nice walks with Simone and the horses; the landscape there is incredibly beautiful! All in all, I highly recommend visiting Simone, her children and all the animals and plants. I will definitely do it again! Thank you for the wonderful time!

My time volunteering was an incredible experience, so well organized, inspiring, and full of learning. I gained so much from every moment I spent there. All the dogs at Muttland are absolutely loving, playful, and full of personality. The experience in the clinic touched me deeply. Jasmine, your mission is truly extraordinary and inspiring. Keep going, you are a real force of nature! 💛🐾 I’m so grateful to have been part of this.

In my 10 years of walkways traveling experience, Terance is definitely number one. He has rich hospitality experience, excellent communication, is kind, talkative and humorous, and gets along with their family very relaxed, beautiful, He is an excellent horticulturist, there are various varieties of tomatoes, berries, nuts in the manor, he is also very good at food processing, we make a large number of jams together, pickled radishes, for those who want to practice self-sufficiency, this is an excellent learning world, for those who pursue food, this is a paradise, from production, to production to tasting, from land to table, The accommodation conditions are excellent homestay level, and the rural scenery is beautiful. In terms of activities, we will go jogging with Shriban, visit friends, and travel to the countryside, with a variety of itineraries

I had the best experience here! It was my first workaway ever and i am so glad to have spent it there. The children are the sweetest and working and learning with them is so much fun. They might even teach you some Hindi words and sentences. Jyoti and Nandini are the nicest people and i am so grateful for meeting them! Their spirit towards the children and their education is amazing and it's truly impressive what they are achieving! The accommodation is great and the food they provide for every meal is amazing!! Also Yeshwant is a really nice person whom you can joke with all the time. His energy for the children to learn is so great. When not teaching, the city is an interesting place to explore and perfect to drink lots of great chai, Jyoti and Nandini can show you all the spots! So i am very happy and lucky to have met all of them and I will 100% come back everytime i'm in India!

I had a great week with Sekiwa and his family at their farm. I arrived late in the evening and was welcomed with a hearty meal of beef and sadza. We spent a few days working hard which I enjoyed - clearing and ploughing the field, harvesting maize, picking guava, etc... There was also plenty of time to relax, socialize and do whatever you want. The family are very kind and generous. My room was perfect- comfy bed, electrical plug in. We went one day to visit two of Sekiwa's children at their school a few hours away and had a nice meal there. The surrounding area is gorgeous. If you want to experience how people live in rural Zimbabwe I would recommend this experience, you will live exactly as they do and they treat you like family. They also have really friendly dogs and plenty of other animals. Sekiwa is also a very open minded individual, I appreciated talking with him about things, he looks at things in a very wise and measured way. All in all a great experience.

Suz and Cal stayed with us for 10 days, and it was truly a wonderful experience for our whole family. They are a very kind and easygoing couple who immediately became part of our daily life. They had great conversations with my boys, and even though there was a language barrier with my daughter, they still played with her so sweetly and found their own ways to connect with her. It was really lovely to see. They helped me so much with the household and were incredibly tidy, thoughtful, and proactive. They often noticed things that needed to be done and simply took care of them without me even having to ask, which I appreciated a lot. They also did fantastic work painting parts of the house and helping to get the garden back in shape after the winter.I really enjoyed our conversations and the time we spent together. I can warmly recommend them to any host and would be very happy to welcome them back—hopefully again this summer!

I had a really great time staying at Bodo's house in the countryside. The work was regularly scheduled for around 4 hours in the morning so there were clear expectations on working hours while Bodo left us more or less once instructions were given. There was mostly the pruning of olive trees or aiding with some of the road repairs next to the house. Nothing was difficult to do and I even began to like pruning the olive trees as it was quite meditative and I could also listen to podcasts while I worked. There were a few other workawayers for half of my stay but after I was alone and mostly independent during my resting hours. Unlike other workaways I've been to, there is less interaction in general and like Bodo notes in his description, those who aren't comfortable with being alone most of the time might want to come with someone else. I, however, enjoyed most of my time alone which was spent admiring the gorgeous sceneries and nature around me. I also cooked most of the meals and Bodo always bought the ingredients I needed. Bodo is very friendly and kind. He always was happy to bring me to and from the town where the bus station was located and he very kindly spoke German with me despite my very beginner level. There is never any pressure when working and Bodo is very fair when it comes to rest. All in all a very great and rewarding experience that I had here in the Italian countryside! Thanks Bodo!
