We had the pleasure of hosting Agathe for almost three weeks, and it was a wonderful experience! She integrated perfectly into our daily life focused on Ayurvedic nutrition and permaculture gardening. Agathe is a rare combination of pragmatic and innovative. She has a brilliant mind that constantly comes up with creative ideas, and she's remarkably quick at understanding and adapting to new tasks. Whether it was helping with permaculture work in the garden, bricolage projects around the house, or preparing healthy sweets and nutritious meals together in the kitchen, she approached everything with enthusiasm and intelligence. Her ability to learn quickly and contribute meaningfully made her an invaluable help. She's not just a hard worker, but someone who brings fresh perspectives and solutions to whatever she's doing. We highly recommend Agathe to any host looking for a creative, capable, and pleasant volunteer. She would be an asset to any project! We love you so much mon chou 🫂 Alberto and Vida

Csilla and her family are wonderful people! I got a little lost on my way to them, but when I arrived she gave me the warmest hug and the stress of the journey just melted away. She knows a lot about natural ways to heal the body, and it was so nice to talk about it with her. We practised Wim Hof breathing together (almost) every morning. I helped out with some cleaning projects around the house and got to learn some fun new things (like chopping wood with a machete, so cool!). They're a very energetic, generous, and kind family. I got to share fun activities with them, like going to the beach, and they even lent me a bike to use while I was there. Thanks for everything 💜

Miguel is such an amazing host. I had the most fun time while learning sooooo much. he's a sustainable lifestyle genius. I fell in love with the place as well. I had the most amazing sunrise and sunset hikes with the dogs accompanying me of course. Also, he knows the community and the place very well. so you'll get some wonderful recommendations. I am already missing the sun cooked meals and Miguel's witty humour. For me, two weeks were just not enough so I came back for another week 😂 and I can keep coming back whenever I get a chance and learn and laugh more at this lovely place and the wonderful host✨

My friend and I stayed at Refugio 2 and helped with various tasks such as walking the dogs, feeding and caring for them, as well as working in the garden (weeding, helping in the tomato greenhouse, repotting plants, and mopping floors). The work was simple and flexible. We stayed with Nelly, her husband, son, and nephew. The family is very warm and generous. We felt welcome, received great tips, and were allowed to use fruits and vegetables from the garden for our own consumption – which we really appreciated. However, we only saw Jheymi once briefly. She seems to be very busy and promised us things like a hammock and a razor for the dogs, but we never received them. Upon arrival, there were a few things that could be improved. In one room, the light was not working, there was no table or chairs, and since no one had stayed there for a while, it was a bit dirty. With some initiative, however, everything could be cleaned and arranged well. It is also important to know that items such as toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, cleaning sponges, or soap need to be organized by yourself. Additionally, this is not a classic animal shelter, but rather a finca with currently seven dogs.

I really enjoyed my experience at Cecilia’s house, especially with her son Giovanni, with whom I had the most contact and shared daily activities. The house is a traditional old Italian home, which made the experience very special and fun. It is a huge house located on top of a mountain, with an amazing view where it is even possible to see the Mediterranean Sea. Although I didn’t stay for a long time, I was able to help with some gardening tasks, mainly cleaning the fence, which also gave me the opportunity to improve my use of tools. The work was relatively easy, though a bit physically demanding. I believe that if I had stayed longer, I would have had more opportunities to exchange experiences with Giovanni and learn even more. Still, I am very happy with the experience I had and grateful for all the support and partnership since the moment I arrived. A big thank you to everyone!

I really loved my volunteering experience with Satia’s family, a traditional Italian family that is also very multicultural. From the very first moment, I felt extremely welcome. The house is very comfortable, and I was quickly integrated into the family’s daily routine, which made my stay even more special. The activities are relatively simple but quite diverse, including painting the gate, taking care of the garden, preparing lunch, and helping with household cleaning. This variety makes the experience dynamic and enjoyable. During my stay, which lasted about one month, I had the opportunity to take part in several family activities, including two birthday celebrations, helping with the preparations as well. This gave me a very realistic and authentic insight into what daily life in an Italian family is like, going far beyond a typical hosting experience. Being part of these moments was truly enriching. I am very grateful for the hospitality, the shared experiences, and all the exchanges we had during this time. Thank you for everything!

I had a lovely stay with Fidelma and Pat. They are very experienced in hosting Workawayers, and you can really tell. The workdays are well organized, you get enough breaks, and you still have plenty of free time. They are very kind and genuinely interested people who always made sure I felt comfortable. There are many things to do in the area, and the seaside is not far away. There are buses close to the house, but they often kindly offered me a lift as well. Thank you, Fidelma and Pat, for this wonderful experience! 🌟

I spent two and a half months with Erika and Greg, including 10 days one of their friend's home to petsit their dog while they were abroad. I couldn't have hoped for a better welcome or a better place to stay. Erika was always very attentive to me. I felt very comfortable in their home, like a member of the family, sharing every meal with them. I loved spending time with the cats, each one cuter than the last. The exchange was more than fair. My main tasks were feeding the cats and tortoises (especially when Erika and Greg were away), cleaning the litter boxes, tidying the house, and other small weekly chores like sweeping the patios. I also trimmed some shrubs in their garden. And I cooked a few meals and baked some cakes. I had plenty of time to explore or simply relax. I was also able to spend several days in Gozo. I thank Erika and Greg again for having welcomed me for all this time and for everything they have done for me.

Miranda stayed for 3 weeks and took great care of Hugo. She did everything we asked of her and enjoyed her time in the village of Stoneyford. Hugo enjoyed his time with Miranda too. She communicated with us regularly and was responsible. I would recommend her for other Workaways. Thanks Miranda

Bartek stayed with us for two weeks, and it was a true joy to have him in our home. He is a remarkably kind, active, and generous person who integrated perfectly into our family life—he truly felt like a brother to us. As a highly experienced TEFL teacher, Bartek was an incredible asset. He stepped in to cover my classes, teaching with genuine passion and energy. He clearly loves teaching and connected effortlessly with the students; they learned so much from him in a short time. His generosity was overwhelming. He: Treated our family to a wonderful dinner at a very high-quality restaurant. Brought many thoughtful gifts and sweets for everyone. Joined us for a safari to see the elephants and even attended a traditional Sri Lankan wedding with us! Beyond his work, Bartek helped me personally by giving great advice and helping me find a better balance in my life. He shared everything with us and had a positive, easygoing attitude throughout his stay. We all love him dearly and cannot wait for him to return. We highly recommend him to any host!

Words might be insufficient to describe how great this project is. The team is made up of the most humane people I have ever met. So many wonderful conversations arise, so many meaningful connections are made in the camp. It is simultaneously exhilarating to discover the beauty of each individual at depth and utterly enraging to face the rotteness of a socioeconomic system that prioritises profit and accumulation over holistic well-being. All in all, I couldn't recommend this project more. It will surely transform your view of the world and make you more connected to the great community that humankind incarnates.

My stay with Celine and Eric was truly incredible. I was with them for just over a month, and it felt really special from start to finish. They are amazing, super kind people who went out of their way to make everything even more memorable. The apartment—right beside the main house—has everything you could possibly need. It's super cozy, with a fully stocked kitchen, a nice bathroom, and a laundry machine that made recharging between adventures effortless. The incredible view was the cherry on top. Their animals are adorable, and the fresh eggs from the chickens were the best I've ever tasted. During the day, I spent my time painting outside mainly, with a couple days painting inside. For me, it was peaceful and the perfect setting to listen to music or an audiobook while I worked. I also got to explore the area: I visited Monaco twice, Nice twice, Antibes twice, Cannes and Italy as well. The South of France is such a magical place and I hope to return soon. Celine and Eric were always happy to check in and see if I needed anything. They never hesitated to drop me off at the train station for day trips. One highlight was going snowboarding, Eric even lent me all the gear I needed! This was a truly unforgettable experience. I'm already missing it and will cherish these memories forever.

Betul stayed with us for a month, and it was a joy to have her in our home. She is a remarkably kind, active, and generous person who truly integrated into our family life. She has a huge heart and was always thinking of others. She often bought sweets for the family, and the highlight of her stay was the wonderful surprise birthday party and dinner she organized for me—it was a gesture I will never forget! Betul was also a fantastic help with our students. She: Taught English with genuine passion and energy. Clearly loves teaching and connected well with the children. Joined us on a trip to Sigiriya, where she was a great travel companion, sharing costs and enjoying every moment in nature. She is a very positive, nature-loving girl who never had a single complaint. She shared her life with our family as if she had always been part of it. We miss her energy and hope she can come back to visit us very soon! We wish her every success in her future adventures. Anyone would be lucky to host her!
