We were so blessed to have Agustin stay with us for almost three months. He showed kindness, reliability and resilience throughout . He is an amazing cook and had some delicious recipes for dinners . He said he learned a lot while living in Australia where he worked as a chef and I can certainly vouch for that. During his time here a new puppy, Smokey , arrived which was very challenging at times. Agustin did not run away , although I am sure there were times when he felt that way. He showed true care and kindness to the little puppy and helped him settle in and Smokey is now such a happy creature . Agustin has true strength of character and showed it in abundance during his stay here. I would recommend Agustin wholeheartedly to any future host

Marlene and Mattis are two lovely young people who have felt like part of our family from the very first moment they arrived at our home. They are always positive, very helpful, and often take initiative without needing to be asked. They are not afraid of hard work, whether it involves taking care of our child or helping around the house. Despite their young age, they are both very responsible, reliable, well-organised, and mature. They have built a sweet and deep bond with our child, supporting him both emotionally and linguistically. His German skills have improved a lot since they have been here with us, as they have spent quality time talking, playing, and reading books together. We have also asked them a couple of times to help us at our family winery and they did a great job. We couldn't be more happier about them and already miss them!

Boom shakalpaka! What a wonderful wonderland I unexpectedly found here! Jeremy and Erle took me in at the last minute to help out at the Christmas market, and I hadn't expected such an incredibly heartly, warm and welcomeing atmosphere on a beautiful old farm! I've never experienced such a magical Christmas, the marketatmosphere, with waffles and hot chocolate together by the fireplace - while little dog double Gingin stole ouer boots and scattered them all over the farmyard. I felt so comfortable and valued with them, and they both know how to spread motivation with good cheer and high fives. The work was varied and flexible, from caring for the animals to sorting Christmas decorations or to get creative designing a farm shop, or editing videos for an explainer video, how to make a fire in the cabins - we definitelly had lots of fun together with the other workawayers. As well, we had some inviting evenings together with pizza or at New Year's Eve dinner to wellcome the new year and a future lead-pouring session. Thank you again for this wonderfull experience and I wish you many more Workawayers in the future who appreciate this and I look forward to visiting you again one day!

The work we did was weed one of the flowerbeds on the side of the house before adding mulch. We also mowed the lawn, tidying up the details with the edger, and finally, we dug up the roots of some old, already cut-down trees in the middle of the garden. She has all the necessary machines to make the job comfortable and easy. The room has an incredible view of the small mountains in the national park. Dallas was incredibly kind to us; she enjoys sharing her home and chatting. The night we arrived, she took us to the lovely pub in town so we could explore it, and during our stay, she recommended places to visit and have lunch. She even invited us to see her perform with her band in the neighborhood, which we thoroughly enjoyed. On the day we were leaving, she lent us her vacuum cleaner to clean our car and was considerate when I fractured my ankle, letting us stay an extra day. We highly recommend this experience! Thanks, Dallas!

I had a really wonderful experience volunteering in this hostel. I was teaching yoga for 3 weeks here. the hostel has a really fun and social vibe and teaching yoga on the beach for the guests was a beautiful thing to do. the work time was very fair, and the communication was always clear. I would recommend volunteering in this place for sure. It's also a good opportunity if you like to surf because the hostel goes for daily surf sessions which you can join for a cheap price. thank you for the experience!!!!

Thank you Claudio for being a really good host and for taking care of the wellbeing of your volunteer-working-guests! Muchas gracias! We got a long amazingly 95% of the time. Claudio would respect us and thank us for the work and we thank him for sharing the place and knowledge and sometimes food (depending on what's growing in the garden). Claudio was engaged and really helpful! You built a paradise up there and it was healing for me. I love the cats and we could learn a lot about baking bread, maintaining strawberries, harvesting and grinding ray, water systems and the rural life. Thank you for all the good conversations: you really are a role model in terms of living the rural life BESIDES capitalism and in peace. Peace Thilo

I can safely say that the month I spent with Brian and his lovely family is one I will never forget. From the very beginning, the communication was great. When I arrived by train, Brian kindly picked me up and drove me home. Working together was a lot of fun. Brian patiently showed me how to use tools I had never worked with before. We fed the horses every day and worked on two big projects. We finished the helpers’ bedroom and started clearing out the barn together with another workawayer, the amazing Jules. Outside of work, Brian took me to visit various locations, historical sites, and beautiful nature. In the evenings, we would relax on the couch and share stories. Brian, I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful time I had at your place. I truly hope to return someday. Sending lots of love to the horses and Luna as well. I would highly recommend staying with Brian and his family if you ever get the chance.

Everything was wonderful with Susan and Murray! We stayed for a week at their guesthouse, which is super cute and cozy, all built by them with beautiful wood. The house is on the same property but has complete privacy and is fully equipped, even with a washing machine and a massage chair! Their dog, Trufa, also has his own entrance and came to visit us every day and spend time with us; we loved him! The work we did consisted of clearing some weeds and then putting mulch in some raised beds of native plants they had along the sides of the house. Susan was incredibly kind and recommended local markets and beaches where we could swim, as well as a lovely restaurant on the riverbank. Murray took us several nights spotlighting so we could see the possums that live in the trees around the house; we were fascinated by the nighttime experience! We highly recommend the workaway exchange with Susan and Murray at Bergalia!

Georgina came to mind our home and pets while we were away for a few days. Her communication was really fantastic coming up to it which really established trust for me. She did a great job around the place and left the house better than she found it. She did the jobs I left and then some! I would highly recommend her as a Workaway guest.

Lou Anne has been very polite and kind since the beginning to the very end, She Is very good skilled with house chores , and her crepes were fantastic! She also delighted us with other french recipes like beuf bourgignon and quiche Lorraine, and we loved them. It was a bit difficoult to build a good relation with the older boys , maybe Just for their different charachters , but with the young one (2 years old) she was absolutely like an aunt , he falled in love with Lou Anne, and he's keeping looking for her every day also after a week she leaved. I think I've never seen anybody else being so in confidence with my toddler . Lou Anne 's cat is very nice , a bit shy with children, but absolutely never dangerous for them. We all are very happy to have met Lou Anne, and we hope to meet her again in the future!

Serena stayed with us at Kenan’s Farm and quickly became part of the team. She helped with the animals, daily farm routines, and also in our delicatessen. She was reliable, positive, and always ready to help. She was always willing to help and learn new things, and she did every task with a smile. We shared nice moments together and she brought a very positive energy to the farm. She is kind, easygoing . We were really happy to host her and she will always be welcome here. Thank you Serena, we hope to see you again we will miss you baba💜

Thank you Olgi and David. I just wanted to thank you for such an incredible week. It was an amazing experience for us to feel like we were part of your amazing family. Please thank all your family for welcoming us with open arms. During our time with Olgi and David we picked fruit in their gardens, chopped fire wood , made jams and built a new chicken house and fed the animals and made fires on a daily basis. The family looked after us well allowing a couple of hours a work each day at the most suitable moments with the weather. Breakfast was good, followed by a large lunch and smaller evening spread of food. We had an incredible meal on the last day of lamb that was roaming the fields that morning. Olgi and David shared with us their principals of living and that was so insightful. Olgi and David are amazing people and we will take their qualities of warmth, love and kindness for all with us ♥️

I was staying with Joshua, his kind family for some weeks. It is a wonderful organization, leading, funding and organising different projects around Chiwawa District. It is busy in the sectors of health, wellbeing, education, youth, agriculture and livelihood support. After having a nice orientation meeting, I could visit some projects where the organization is involved, like an HIV-infected people's group or a Pre-School, which was very touching. The lack of funding in an overall poor environment is obvious, so I'm convinced that some projects couldn't survive without organizations like this. Joshua, the director and my host is a friendly, hardworking but relaxed and calm person. He takes his different roles very seriously. It's impressing what he built in the last years together with his committed stuff. At least my main work was done at the Primary School, which is supported by the organization. I was teaching English and Maths in class 5, 6 and 7 together with the local teachers who welcomed me very nicely. I could also take part of a subject called 'Life Skills', what was very interesting for me. The children and adolescents are really adorable, curious and so kind. They were happy about everything I offered to do with them. To be honest, the heat can be a bit challenging but the people around are very friendy and the nature is stunning. Just take a walk around Kamuzu bridge! I highly recommend this place. You should bring a powerbank, a tortch and of course sun protection. If a mosquito net is not already there - you can buy one for 10.000 Kwacha (= 5€).

Max, Ele & Moka are truly amazing personalities!! I had the joy of hosting them for six and a half weeks, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for better company. My tiniest dog was about to undergo major brain surgery, which meant I had to rush to Madrid for a week. Without hesitation, Max and Ele packed up and drove 13 hours all the way from Italy to Spain, so I could focus on my little pup. It was a completely chaotic situation 😅 we hadn’t even known each other and I just handed them my house keys, gave them money to fill my diesel heater, and left the next morning. But from the very start, they gave me such a warm, trusting feeling that I could leave completely at ease. They kept in touch the whole time, sending me updates, photos, and videos of my dogs. When I came back, we had the most wonderful time together. Max and Ele are incredibly hardworking. Max immediately took charge of the firewood, cutting it with the chainsaw and making fires for us in the evenings. I never even asked, he just naturally took care of it ☺️ Ele is a phenomenal cook! I ate so well while they stayed. She also kept the house in order, tidied the kitchen, washed dishes, and even baked. We agreed not to have strict rules or schedules, so, they could sleep in and work whenever they wanted. Just a sense of give-and-take, and Max and Ele far exceeded my expectations. In just six and a half weeks, they transformed my home. My property is huge, but they managed to mow the lawn, plant new flowers, repair the fence (twice, because my dog kept breaking it 😂), paint, maintain the pool, and still take care of my dogs. For all their effort, they get a solid 10/10 from me!! 💯 Beyond all that, Max and Ele are incredibly kind and funny and huge animal lovers. It’s so easy and fun to spend time with them. We went hiking, visited the lake with the dogs, watched movies in the evenings and even hosted a raclette night with my friends. I truly enjoyed every moment and will miss them so much. I only let them leave with a heavy hear. They had to promise to come back, whether for another stay or just a holiday! And Moka… oh, Moka is just as wonderful as they are! Full of energy and love, she plays with everyone and keeps the whole gang on their toes. My dogs ran, played, chased each other all over the property and fetched balls. Inside the house we sometimes had to slow them down because they were using the furniture and sofa as a parkour playground 😂 I can wholeheartedly recommend Max, Ele & Moka to any host looking for trustworthy, hardworking, and absolutely lovable Workawayers. They’ll bring joy, laughter, and so much heart to your home 🩵

I stayed at the farm recently and my experience was incredible. Sam and Rowena are two of the kindest people i have ever met and i am so grateful i was able to have my first workaway with them. Sam and Rowena always make sure that the workawayers are comfortable and happy and the work is also great as there is opportunity for both indoor and outdoor work which are both very enjoyable. It is in an amazing location with lots of great walks to take and also very close to the village. The perfect workaway and i am excited to be able to return one day.
