Description
Our farm is located around 45 minutes from Oslo and 20 minutes from Oslo Airport Gardermoen, in peaceful surroundings by the River Vorma.
We live on a traditional Norwegian farm with a private home, garden, forest, fields, rental cabins and glamping accommodation, a wedding venue, and several animals. The property is surrounded by nature, and there is always something practical to help with around the farm.
We have several friendly animals, including alpacas, Shetland ponies, mini pigs, hens, and a dog. Daily tasks can include helping with the animals, keeping outdoor areas tidy, gardening, weeding, watering plants, painting, carrying out small repairs, organizing tools and storage areas, chopping or stacking firewood, and helping with general maintenance around the house, cabins, garden, and farm.
The help is mostly practical and hands-on. We are especially interested in people who are handy, proactive, independent, and comfortable taking initiative. Since we are often busy with different projects, this opportunity is best suited to people who can work independently and do not need constant instructions.
We offer accommodation on the farm, including a cozy private room upstairs in the main house, as well as payment of NOK 170 per hour.
Please note that we can only host EU/EEA citizens, or non-EU citizens who already live in Norway and have a valid residence permit that allows them to work or complete an internship here.
If you are practical, positive, and enjoy spending time in nature, being around animals, and helping with a variety of outdoor and DIY projects, we would be happy to hear from you. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will be part of daily life on a traditional Norwegian farm, surrounded by nature, animals, forest, fields, and the river.
We enjoy sharing stories and learning from people from different cultures, and you will have the chance to experience life in the Norwegian countryside. Depending on the season, you may also learn about animal care, gardening, basic maintenance, firewood, small DIY projects, and how we take care of an old farm property in Norway. -

Help
Helping us keep our farm, garden, cabins, animals, and outdoor areas well cared for is the main focus.
We need help with practical tasks such as gardening, painting, cutting and stacking wood, small repairs, fencing, building small garden structures, DIY projects, animal care, keeping outdoor areas tidy, and snow shoveling when needed. Most of the help is outside and varies depending on the weather, season, and what needs attention. -

Accommodation
The accommodation is upstairs in the main house. You will have your own private room, with access to a shared kitchen and bathroom.
Most of the time there are no more than three volunteers living upstairs, so there is usually enough privacy and a calm atmosphere. -
What else ...
You may use bikes, a canoe, the sauna and go swimming (cold) in the river, go for walks in beautiful nature. Visit Oslo city by bus.
