Leng spent two rainy weeks in February with us. There were very few moments for outside work, so we stayed mainly around the sheepwool, brushing and carding our wool. We did even work together on the old spinningwheel. It was fun, could have become boring without an intense exchange and lots of talks. It was a wonderful way to spend a rainy season.

Makhlouf was very busy during my stay, but i could tell how warm hearted we was. we had been talking for some time and actually made it work which was amazing !!we always hang out in the afternoons and usually the mornings too. I met another girl while there and it was amazing to share the time with her, it’s going to be remembered forever. I was happy to help improve his already great english. Together we tried different breads, croissants, 😍😍HONEYS AND OLIVE OILS 😍😍. The room was very comfy and i felt at home, and it’s so close to the metro. I already missed paris as soon as i left. It was great to discover the city and learn about algeria. I had so much fun i hope to come back 🙂 Thanks so much for everything Mak

An incredible month volunteering in the community of Suwa 🤍 One month filled with discoveries, learning experiences, and unforgettable encounters. Every family welcomed me with immense generosity: inviting me to share their traditional drink, chicha, going fishing together… simple moments, yet so precious. Every morning, I spent time at school with children aged 5 to 11. It was incredibly enriching, full of laughter, energy, and joy. Their curiosity and spontaneity taught me so much. An unforgettable experience — disorienting at times, but deeply meaningful and necessary. The kind of adventure everyone should experience at least once in their life. A huge thank you to Patricio, the project leader, who supported me before my arrival and on the ground with all the necessary information and great kindness. If you’re hesitating to take the leap: don’t 💛

Luca is an incredibly kind, modest, and sweet person. He doesn't need much or demand attention; he's gentle and attentive. He's a wonderful person to have around. Luca is always willing to do chores and is very eager to learn. It was an honor to have him on our farm, and we hope to see him again someday. Luca, thank you for everything, and all the best. Love from us.

Vicky and Karen are amazing girls! Staying with them made me experience sisterhood on a whole different Level - Vicky also took me to the market, to a waterfall, I joined a group tour she organized and afterwards we took a Mutatu. Additionally we watched many videos from different cultural dances of the Luos and other tribes. They taught me so so much about their culture and did it in such a fun and natural way that it didn't even feel like learning! They are truly proud Kenyans and I loved how passionately they talked about their country. Vicky and I also had some good late night talks and the work wasn't hard at all! Vickys project is truly amazing and generally she's such a beautiful and special character. It felt like staying with a sister I never had. I'm so happy I got to meet you! And Karen: Text me when you come to Germany - you're more than welcome at any time!! All the best girls, lots of love to you! And see u again someday:)

our experience at Andy's place was really lovely, we spent there three weeks with a really bad weather but he and his wonderful dog Unai made it a great time, we had lots of fun both in the working time and the free time, going to the beach and making good food, as well as relaxing and taking trips to the villages nearby. Andy is a really cool person, always smiley and willing to make good chats!

Living in Ouarzazate with Brahim's family was a very nice experience for me. I enjoyed talking with him and learning more about the Amazigh culture. My tasks were helping out with the social media, here and there the dishes and playing with the kids :D I recommend to everyone that wants to learn more about the moroccan culture and way of living outside the big cities. Me and my friends ended up booking a trip with him to the Sahara desert, because he knows so well the area and gave very good explanations.

It has been heartwarming to join Dani and the lovely beings in the creation of a dance floor, coloring wooden blocks, and weeding. Dani is a sensible and open being. He gladly welcomed me to the project on a short notice as he felt the resonance of my presence. The resilient Etna brings so much power and transformation into the space. We shared some music and whirling practices! He also shared some relevant insights on posture and alignment. I also enjoyed going on a recycling adventure together being agents of change, abundance, and care! I see this would be a precious experience for anyone who appreciates wellbeing, healing, introspection, and creative expression!

It was a great place to volunteer! Wilson is the best and he made the experience so much easier and comfortable, he's a great manager and helped a lot. We had an amazing volunteer team and worked really well together taking care of the hostel and the guests. We got to go on many tours and fully explore and enjoy La Fortuna. We had some fun gatherings, especially going to the hot springs at night together with everyone from the hostel. It was a very chill and easy-going environment. The hostel is on a quiet street in the town, where everything is walkable, and I always felt safe there. I saw many toucans in the trees behind the hostel, and even a sloth! I'm really glad I got to volunteer there and have all the experiences that I had.

I enjoyed Hannah's stay very much. She was very layed back and a happy person to have around. Even though her Spanish is still basic she had no problems integrating with the locals. She also worked away the jobs I gave her. Very recommandable, I wish her a super nice year in South America

We were very lucky and privileged to have Zoe with us. As a volunteer, she was incredibly involved, quick to learn, always ready to help, and not afraid of hard work. And she loves cooking, truly. Even when there was no need to cook, she was happily experimenting in the kitchen. Whoever hosts her next will be treated to amazing Asian dishes. She was also someone we could always rely on in the garden, with cleaning, organising, and general maintenance. No need to explain things twice. As a person, Zoe brings a great vibe. She’s intelligent, has an amazing sense of humour, and is a very engaging conversationalist with lots of experience to share. You definitely learn new things around her. We’d happily welcome her back anytime. Thank you, Zoe, for your time, energy, and dedication!

I couldn't have asked for a better place to settle into the start of my trip. Millie sets up volunteers for success on the farm and welcomed me along for some wonderful experiences - camping, horseback riding on the beach, boating etc. The cabin is cozy and perfectly equipped, the neighbours (including cats) are so great. I felt completely welcomed by all. Gardening, farm jobs & repairs, child care, horseback riding, caring for chickens and the other farm animals... The rural living is quiet and peaceful, but busy and exciting at the same time. With lots of time to explore the incredible sights of Northland... Okaihau is a nice central location, with some fun community events and only 30mins away to bigger towns and beaches. A car is *super important* up here if you want to go exploring! I loved every minute of my time here. Will miss them all dearly and would be back in a heart beat! The thanks are endless 💛

Muchísimas gracias a Laura y Carles.

We had a fun time hosting Leonie for a bit more than two weeks. She joined in easily into all aspects of life here and helped us with various tasks, such as gardening, small construction projects to looking after our dogs, sheep and chickens while we were away for a few days. We got to know Leonie as an upbeat, and reliable person who fitted in well with our other workawayers. We wish her well on her adventures through New Zealand and do recommend her to other hosts. We would welcome Leonie back, any time.

Pyry was an exceptional help to us during a very busy time as our family began preparing the garden for the season. He stayed with us 3 weeks in February. He collected manure from the animals and, using wheelbarrows, spread hundreds of loads across the gardens. He made many rows for planting seeds, and everything will soon be ready for sowing. He also walked the dog twice a day, got up very early each morning, and was always looking for physical work to do. He collected branches, cut wood for his fireplace, and lit a fire in his room every day. He helped cleaning lots of pumpkins to get the seeds out. He worked a lot and worked very hard. We truly appreciated his effort and dedication, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors!

I volunteered with Cielo for two weeks near the end of January. She's a very hardworking and determined person who's always working on different projects, but she's also very sweet and down to earth (she'll also help you with your Spanish!) The people at this Workaway site are all very kind and interesting folks, so I'd recommend this Workaway for anyone who is ready to work hard and is interested in learning more about the city of Oaxaca and improving their Spanish. Really one of the best hosts I've met in the two years I've been travelling!!

I stayed with Alessandro and Stefania for two lovely weeks. I slept in my van as they could not offer accommodation during winter but this was very clear from the beginning and they welcomed me warmly in their home to share meals, discussions, friends dinners, travel stories and DIY ideas. They were keen on sharing the different projects they are part of, took me to fun events linked with local farming where I could meet really nice people. They recommended me a place to stay when I was in Val d'itria before joining them and were always making sure I would feel at ease. Thank you for the lovely stay and see you soon for some surf ! ;)
