Daf was a wonderful volunteer and a great person to have around the hostel. He originally planned to stay for a shorter time, but ended up staying longer and helping us even more, which we really appreciated. He was always willing to help wherever it was needed. One thing we especially appreciated was that he stepped in to help with cleaning beds when things got busy, which made a big difference for our team. He was reliable, easy to communicate with, and had a positive attitude throughout his stay. Daf was also very respectful of the space and got along well with everyone in the hostel, both guests and staff. It was a pleasure having him here, and we are very grateful for the help he gave us during his time with us. We would happily recommend Daf to other hosts and would welcome him back anytime!

Jim, Ania and their children are very warm and open-hearted people. We felt very much at home and welcome right from the start. We were very well looked after, and Jim and Ania were always keen to ensure we were comfortable. The property is an absolute dream with so many possibilities. There is plenty of varied work to be done on a place like this. So Jim found seasonal tasks for Andre, which he really enjoyed. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and were sorry we didn’t have more time to stay longer.

Elana stayed with us during two different periods: first at the beginning of summer 2025 and then again after the summer until April 1st, 2026. The fact that she came back a second time already says a lot about how reliable and pleasant she is to have around. Elana is a very kind, calm and trustworthy person. She is always ready to help and someone you can truly rely on. During her stay she integrated naturally into the daily life here and was always respectful, positive and easy to live with. She helped with different daily tasks and was always willing to contribute. What I especially appreciated about Elana is her calm presence and her sense of responsibility. She also took wonderful care of my cat Zoé, who became very attached to her and will certainly miss her. I honestly have no negative comments about Elana. Everything went very smoothly and it was a real pleasure hosting her. I can warmly recommend Elana to any future host. She will always be welcome back here. David

Frank, Asli and their family were wonderful hosts! I spent 2 weeks with them on their beautiful homestead helping with building projects. I was able to put my current skills to use and they made a point to teach me new skills (like how to make a thatch roof) that I expressed interest in. The work was enjoyable and I always looked forward to sharing a meal and great conversation with everyone. Accommodations were comfortable and well maintained offering a great experience, close to nature and all the cool critters that abound in the jungle.

Maurice will be the most elegant and distinguished volunteer you'll see in your piece of land. We had the pleasure of sharing an entire season with him, harvesting blood oranges togehter. Always kind and poetic, he throws himself wholeheartedly into any proposed activity. We developed a beautiful friendship that will last long beyond the month we spent together. A gentle presence at home, he helped us prepare meals and clean the common areas.

Jim was the volunteer who inspired us all. He has excellent communication skills, is very organized and disciplined, generous, kind, sarcastic but in a gentle and kind way, and was very polite. It was a true pleasure to host him, and we hope he returns for a visit or another round of chaos with us! We actually hope he retires nearby so we can enjoy the pleasure of his company. He is a gentleman who is relaxed and understands how to make a host feel at ease and valued.

Awful experience for hosting this person. He doesn’t know anything about workaway as he is a workawayer. Nothing to recommend for other hosts.

We absolutely loved hosting Sam and Marie at our happy farm. They are such kind, warm, and positive people, and it truly felt like having family with us. Even during the difficult time of the protests in Nepal, they stayed calm, understanding, and brought such good energy to our home. They were always happy to help and joined in with daily life here with an open heart. We shared many lovely moments together — working in the sun, carrying corn from the fields, enjoying the peaceful village life, and sharing meals and stories. It was very special celebrating Marie’s first Hindu birthday with us, and we created many memories together. They were respectful, easygoing, and a joy to host. We will always remember their time here very fondly. Sam and Marie will always have a place in our hearts, and we truly hope to see them again one day. ❤️

We had a really lovely time hosting Ramona. She is a kind, friendly, and respectful person, and it was a pleasure to have her with us. She adapted easily to our place and daily rhythm, and it was very nice sharing time, conversations, and simple activities together. Ramona was always willing to help and brought a calm and positive energy to our home. We enjoyed spending time together, playing games, sharing stories, and working on small tasks like chopping turmeric. She was also great to have around with the other volunteer, and they got along very well. Overall, it was a wonderful experience hosting her, and we’re grateful for the time we shared. We would happily recommend Ramona to other hosts and wish her all the best on her travels. 🌿

I stayed 2 weeks at Benjamin's house. In this 2 weeks I did a lot of experiences. You have to know that the house is not finished yet. A lot of details like windows, doors, isolation of the house, electricity, etc. are missing. So I lived 2 weeks an other type of life, quite a rough and basic life. For example: you have to fill up bottles of water in the river next to the house or you only have electricity and light in the house when the generator is on and the shower is outdoor with a camping shower. I enjoyed it a lot! It was a great experience, I learned a lot and I can really recommend it😊 During my time there, I did more small tasks because Benjamin had to work a lot and was during the day not at home. On weekends we had workdays, so we worked the whole day, of course with breaks for eating, chatting and smoking. Benjamin has a lot of ideas and ambitions to finish his house and the cabin next to the house. His knowledge is incredible! He can explain and tell you a lot all about living in the forest, his project, the nature around, fermentation, preserving food, etc., so you can learn a lot from him. And we ate a lot of self made sourdough bread, yummi😍 We had a lot of chats in the evening, we laughed a lot, ate delicious food and had a nice time together. Benjamin is very open and interested for your opinions and feedback regarding to his project and how do you feel there. So I felt always comfortable and would say it was one of my most interesting experience during my journey through South America. So if you love to be in nature, experience a life out of your comfort zone, love to exchange life stories and learning a lot of new things, you should come to Benjamins house!🏡

I stayed around 10 days at Ian's home and would totally recommend it ! The house is really nice and the view is so beautiful, peace and nature in a relaxing landscape. Ian's really cool to hang out with and is very motivated by it's renovation project. We worked outside, cleaning the land, painting fences and building a outdoor kitchen. Ian knows what he's talking about when it comes to this stuff so it's a good opportunity to learn new skills. Ian even took me to the restaurant and to visit the place around. He has many stories to tell and I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay too !

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Rikki in our home for a couple of weeks through Workaway. Our main goal was for our daughters to practice English and experience a cultural exchange, and Rikki was simply the perfect fit. She is German and connected wonderfully with both of our girls. With our youngest, Julia, she spent time playing board games, walking the dog, and visiting the local library. With our oldest, Carla, who is closer to her age, they bonded over shared hobbies, talked about music, watched series in English, and even cooked dinner together. Rikki has a super positive attitude. She was always proactive and willing to help with household chores, as well as eager to go for walks and explore our province with us. A great bonus is that she also speaks Spanish, which made communication effortless whenever the girls were too tired to speak English. We loved having her as part of our family. With her wonderful character and helpful disposition, we are certain she will be a great addition wherever she goes. We highly recommend hosting Rikki!"

Georgia is a friendly person who stayed 2 weeks at my place. She did a great job organising my pantry and cleaning the kitchen and cupboards and home in general. She also mowed the lawn and kept the garden tidy. We did a few trips to the night food markets, HOTA markets, Currumbin where she had a surf in quite rough conditions and a trip to Byron also. She is interesting to talk to and she also got along well with my housemate Sarge and my other friends she met. Thank you Georgia for keeping my home nice and tidy and for also trying to improve my German.

I spent a month volunteering at the English club. It was a wonderful time! It felt very warm communicating with the local community and the students. People came with open hearts and genuine interest. The work was very well-organized, and it was easy to follow the instructions. Lily and the other volunteers were always helpful with any questions. The communication was transparent, sincere, and mature. It seems to me like an ideal option for anyone who wants to combine volunteering with exploring nearby places. Hinase is small, but picturesque and very peaceful. Within a month, at a moderate pace, you can travel to many interesting places. I love different kinds of volunteering, but this one allowed me to meet many wonderful people. This time will remain in my heart as something truly precious.

I loved my time here with these wonderful kids, just one thing I wish could have been different was the exchange with the hosts, I was mainly just with the kids. I know they are super busy and that's why they need the help, but I was expecting some time together to get to know them which didn't really happen, which is a shame. I would still recommend coming here for the area which is great if you love walks and surfing!

I only spent 2.5 weeks here and I wish I could've stayed longer. The days flew by, I worked in the veg garden and got to use a pressure washer for the pool! The house and grounds are beautiful, Padme & Piero are so welcoming and friendly. Gracias to Piero for letting me come along to weekly tango classes 💃 and Gracias to Padme for the ghost stories 👻 It was lovely spending time with the horses and great balance of work/own time.

During her three week stay, Madeleine was polite and honest and easy to live with. We both achieved a lot during this time, with varied projects balanced with tourist visits and festivals. The positive impact Madeleine left in my house and garden will continue to be appreciated for years to come, and she is always welcome in my home.
