It's all about meeting and helping people. I travel to learn more about myself and about the world. I've had enough of the corporate life and I'm looking for a new adventure.

My wife is back home in Virginia. I am traveling solo at the moment.

I am quiet and somewhat reserved. I don't enjoy large crowds and parties but I always enjoy a meaningful / intelligent conversation in a small group over beer, wine, or coffee. I am a dual citizen, America and the Republic of Ireland, so I have an EU passport.

I am comfortable with garden work, cleaning, assisting in the kitchen, painting, general maintenance, etc. I can be a very reliable second set of hands on more skilled projects like electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. If you happen to be moving or cleaning up a property, I am especially good at cleaning, packing, and organizing.

I am currently attempting to learn a bit of French using Babbel. One day, I hope to retire in France.

I have taught English in three different countries. I'm capable of doing gardening and routine house work. I'm not an especially good cook but I can help in the kitchen. I don't have formal construction experience but I can be a helpful set of hands if you can tell me what to do. Most of my professional experience was in project management so I am pretty good at getting things organized.

I enjoyed a wonderful 9-day stay with Laura and David. They are both kind and generous people who I now consider to be friends.

During my stay, David and I took down some trees in the orchard and harvested them for firewood. The work hours were very reasonable.

Jim was an absolute joy to host. Helpful, capable, hard worker, easy-going and always good for a chat, he quickly fitted in. I had three wonderful weeks with Reb and Mark this April. They are great hosts and truly great people. Reb is a fantastic cook!

I had a great time at this Workaway. I was with Jeff for three weeks. Darcie was away for most of the time, but I did meet her at the end.

Jeff was very upfront about the work. Some of the tasks were rather dirty and difficult, but Jeff will never ask a workaway to do something he wouldn't do himself.

The accommodation was comfortable. There are two downstairs bedrooms with ensuite toilets. There is a small kitchen downstairs where workaways can make breakfast. I spent a month with Anne and Fitz. Both of them are excellent cooks. During my time there, we did a lot of decluttering and put down new gravel in the courtyard.
