I had a great time here, the staff is kind friendly, the activities of the volunteership were varied, there’s always something to do in Cali. The free group classes are awesome with amazing teachers. One of the best experiences that I had had.

This was my first workaway experience, and Kerstin and Carsten were wonderful hosts. I wanted to speak German, and learn more about the history and culture of this part of Germany. The experience exceeded my expectations by far. Kerstin and Carsten gave me easy tasks to perform and assured me that the work I was doing was a help to them - which was important for me, as I wanted to provide a valuable service to them. And they treated me as part of the family - always making sure I was well taken care of and supporting my 'long weekends' away to visit nearby places. Kerstin took me on several visits to local places - like Dresden, Meissen, Finsterwalde, Senftenberg, Doberlug-Kirchain - including helping me get into the museums at these places. I learned a lot. I spoke a lot of German. And I can't wait to visit the family again! Thank you again, Kerstin and Carsten, for the hospitality and support.

I had a great two-week stay with Kai in Santa Barbara and can definitely recommend this experience. During the first week, Kai was on vacation, so I was mainly house-sitting and taking care of his dog Bugsy. Bugsy is a very sweet and easygoing dog, so it was really enjoyable spending time with him. It also gave me plenty of time to explore Santa Barbara. Kai kindly provided me with an e-bike, which made it incredibly easy to get around and discover the city and the surrounding area. In the second week Kai returned, and we spent quite a bit of time together. He introduced me to some of his friends and family, which made the experience feel very welcoming and authentic. Kai was also very generous when it came to food, and we often went out to eat together. His son Harlow is great as well — we had a lot of fun playing video games together. The location of the house is excellent, and Santa Barbara itself is a beautiful city with a lot to see and do. Overall, it was a really nice experience and I would absolutely recommend staying with Kai.

Where to start… Rosa, Vincent, and their family welcomed me as if I had always been part of theirs from the very moment we met. Their home is filled with so much love and warmth. They truly go the extra mile to make sure everyone feels comfortable, happy, and cared for. Our days often began with Zumba, followed by working on their projects around the house or spending time around their adorable little farm. But one of my favorite parts was learning to cook the **Belizean way — with a little Canadian twist!** 😊 I loved learning how to make tortillas, coconut rice and beans over an open fire, and experiencing meals prepared with so much heart. They also took us everywhere — the beach, caves, lakes, Mayan ruins, waterfalls, the zoo… adventure after adventure. And sharing our faith together was such a beautiful bonus. I learned so much about Belizean culture, cooking, and ways of life. Most of all, I’m leaving with memories I will cherish for a lifetime. So grateful for this time, these people, and this experience. ❤️

Adrian and Caterina have been an absolute pleasure to host. They are friendly, hard working and easy to get along with. They both worked to make a huge impact on our garden areas and we are tremendously grateful to them for their efforts-particularly because their visit fell during our Queensland wet season, so conditions were hot, humid and often very wet. They never complained and they took great care in completing each task fully. We enjoyed their company during free time and found they were very easy yo get along with, connecting with our entire family and also friends who visited during their stay. I would recommend them for any Workaway projects as they are both very fit and capable with proactive attitudes. We would happily host Adrian and Caterina again as workawayers or as guests in our home in the future.

We spent four weeks with Kendra and Jesse and their two wonderful children, and during that time they became very dear to us. From the beginning, they welcomed us warmly and made us feel like part of the family. During our stay, we worked on different projects, sometimes together and sometimes on our own. It was nice to be trusted with responsibility and to help in meaningful ways. They also included us in their daily life and activities. We went fishing together and enjoyed a relaxed barbecue, which was a great chance to spend time together outside of work. Sebastian especially appreciated learning from Jesse and improving his practical skills. We both gained a great insight into the New Zealand farm lifestyle, which was a very enriching experience. Julia really enjoyed spending time with the children and appreciated the many small moments with them. And of course, their lovely dog Baz quickly won our hearts. Kendra and Jesse are a very kind and open-hearted family. We are very grateful for the time we spent together and will always remember those weeks fondly.

Gracias.

Leonie was a delight to host. She worked hard- did many varied tasks with energy and focus as well as skill. She is very brave- she climbed tall ladders to clear the gutters of our round yard but also was emotionally brave to be a client in a equine therapy session. AL and I wish her well on her life journey

Wow!! What a dynamic young couple. We really loved our time with Caleb and Liv. They are great fun, positive, energetic and motivated helpers. They got on well with our friends and family too. Liv got on stage to sing several times with different friends who were performing and impressed us all......a great voice! We learned a lot about living in Alaska and their conservation / environmental education work. While here, they cooked us some lovely meals, helped in the kitchen, cleaned, maintained revegetation and worked in a not for profit community nursery. They also helped with picking and processing fruit and vege's, raking leaves for mulch, collected manure and both of them used a brush cutter / whipper snipper to keep the grass down in the garden areas. Even when no jobs were set, they took the initiative to keep busy and find something that needed doing. They really became part of our family while staying here and we miss them already. We can wholeheartedly recommend Liv and Caleb to any prospective hosts and we hope they will come back one day for a revisit.

There should be more stars available for this girl! I spent 2 really amazing months in Milano with Zoe and her two beautiful girls. Zoe is one of the most caring and incredible people I've met, lived at least 5 different lives, has a passion for so many things and is a very strong person (physically and mentally:)) Sole and Juno are joyful and sweet little creatures, they love to play with you, talk to you and bring you to their world. I think we spent really meaningful time together. Now, Milano is my home much more than it had been before with Zoe's family and all beautiful friends she has around. Grazie per tutto cara:)

I really liked my stay on the farm! Sophia and her family are all very kind and welcoming from the first minute on and I got along with them really well. It was so nice that there was another Workawayer (Nikki) with me during that time, so work was always fun! I mostly fed the chickens and rabbits, cared for the donkey, did painting and gardening. Working was quite chill, we could work in our own pace and the working hours were totally fair. The food was amazing, vegetarian was absolutely no problem - we had yummy Tajines, soups, great breakfasts etc.! We would also go on different trips that I really enjoyed - Sophia took us to a traditional Moroccan music concert, to a Bellydance class, to her choir concert or just to the beach - we could experience so much of Morocco. I only have two things to point out: first, the farm is quite isolated so if you wanna go out somewhere, you either have to take a taxi or go with Sophia/her dad. For me, that was absolutely fine because I liked staying on the farm a lot but just something to look out for. Secondly, the farm is undergoing construction now (as mentioned in the profile). So it's still a work in progress (e.g. animal spaces are still being build). But if you keep this in mind, you'll have a great time there!

This was my first workaway, and I could not have asked for a better experience! Sophia is an amazing person and fun to be around, constantly planning fun things to do like going to the beach, trips to marrakech or belly dancing classes! About the farm, I would highly recommend if you like animals and working with your hands. The main tasks i had to do was spend time with the dogs, feed the chickens and rabbits and general painting and gardening. It really didn’t feel like work to me! The only downside for me was that the farm is a little bit isolated, so if you want to go somewhere you would need to get an InDrive, or tag along with Sophia or Bob. But that is very minor compared to all the amazing things i did there. For cultural exchange this is ideal, you get to know what it’s like to live with a moroccan family and the meals are way better than those you will get at a Restaurant (you will also never get hungry, even during Ramadan) I already miss Ikram and Mima’s tagines… So basically I highly recommend! Thank you so much to Sophia and the Family, and I hope to be back someday :)

Haku joined us at a time I needed help and tried his best to help. being so young he lacked some skills and language, but everyone starts somewhere. he is a good tennis player and a friend family enjoyed playing with him. It is a bit sad that he found it difficult to give us a clear idea how long he would stay.

I enjoyed meeting Eileen online long before meeting her in person. She came across as a worldly woman with an adventurous spirit and a “can do” attitude and that is exactly how she was when she finally came here. Eileen was like an old friend who I just hadn’t met yet. Aside from the fast friendship we established, Eileen had an impressive work ethic and tackled every task with enthusiasm and a desire to complete, regardless of how long it would take. Several times I had to ask her to stop or take a break. Eileen brought so much more to the Workaway experience by sharing knowledge, funny stories and wisdom from her own life’s journey. What a gift to have had her here to help and be a wonderful companion to work alongside! I look forward to hosting Eileen again and meeting her somewhere abroad for some new adventures. I highly recommend Eileen as a Workawayer who will bring more than a helping hand to your property 🙏😊

"Hi Alex! Thank you so much for your kind words. It was truly a pleasure having you with us at the end of the season. Hello Fanni and Anna, I just realized while updating my profile that I did't leave you a feedback, sorry for that! Those 2 girls were a very sweet company and helped me a lot with my autumn tasks (I am now enjoying the delicious chestnuts jam you made and the many stuff you repaired with you sewing skills!) They are funny and always have things to tell, and also appreciated quiet activities likes walking in the forest or reading/knitting in their room. They are respectful and have been sweet with the animals, who gave them love in return. I would be happy to meet you again if you are around!

It was lovely having Michele and Omberto visit us for one week in their camping car. Michele was independant during her stay, completing several minial but essential tasks that had been waiting to be done for some time. Many thanks and bonne route to you both !

Our two weeks at the ranch were unforgettable! The love for the animals, the magical place, and the amazing people made this experience truly special. We are already feeling nostalgic about it. Some of the tools and infrastructure can sometimes be a bit old or broken, but the great atmosphere and the people there more than make up for it. It’s also a good idea to plan ahead if you want to wash your clothes, as there is no washing machine available. We also recommend asking for their WhatsApp number before arriving at the ranch, as they tend to respond more quickly there than on Workaway. When we arrived, we didn’t get a response through Workaway and had to spend one night in Valle before coming to the ranch. Luckily, we found their WhatsApp number on their Google Maps page and were able to contact them there. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with incredible people! We even made a little video about it (in French though ^^) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH6PbvhWkoU&list=PLpka5QrAjf84G1UfM-qFUN-ren_bORUBN&index=6 We would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves animals, nature, and meeting wonderful people.

Nina and Aude were one of the most responsible and committed workawayeres that we ever had. Since their first arrival they showed an impressive professionalism, even that they showed on Saturday they learn all the duties and set the bar really high. We cannot be more than happy for having them and sad that they have to leave. We can only wish them a very nice trip and luck in their studies as a future doctors that we truly believe that's a goal that they will achieve. Let the light of the universe guide your way guys and we hope we can meet in the future where life chooses.
