    Description

Experience italian culture in the countryside with a winemaker, a baker and two little girls!
Slow-life, eco-friendly practices, outdoor activities, wine and good food!

    >> LOOKING FOR:
    1) CHILD-CARE: we have two girls aged 3,5 and 8 - looking for someone who loves kids and would like to join us helping with babysitting, picking up from school and have some fun with them
    2) PAINTING: we are planning to repaint walls in our house during the wintertime. Looking for some help to do so!

We live in italian countryside, in Piedmont. Alberto (1984) was born and raised in the countryside; he loves its rhythms and its traditions. Carla (1985) grew up between one city and the other, but learned to love the quiet life in Monferrato hills, ruled by seasons and Nature’s rhythm.
We believe that "returning to nature", to a life in harmony with the wonderful world around us, it’s a priceless treasure and a message that is essential to tell to those around us and to those who will take our place one day. We have two daughters: Frida (2017) and Cora (2022); an Italian Spinone dog and two cats.

We run two businesses: Alberto runs a farm which produces organic wine and firewood. We have about 5 hectares of vineyard, a family vegetable-garden and woods. Carla is a pastry-chef & chef; she has a "Lab" specialised in cake-design, high quality catering, chef experiences and cooking classes.

We love to share free time with new friends and travel though different cultures by hosting foreign people.
Nature around us is beautiful and wild; there are several trails suitable for bicycles or walking. We are close enough to big cities like Torino, Genova or Milano, so it's possible to reach them by train and spend the day away.

AU-PAIR POSITION: if you like to join us for a longer period of time (i.e. 6 months or more) during summertime we can provide an au-pair contract with pocket money. Here are the requirements to apply:
    - Age: between 22 and 29
    - Nationality: European citizens or girls from Canada, New Zealand and Australia (as these are the only countries allowing to ask for a Working-Holyday-Visa)
    - Stay: 6 months from May to October
    - No smokers / no dietary restrictions / no allergies to pets
    - Driving licence (manual transmission car)
    - Language: a bit of Italian or Spanish would be great but not mandatory. A good level of English is required to be understood by us and to communicate with girls.
    - Experience: some experience with kids. We look for someone able to manage the ages of our kids, not just playing but also in their relationship (i.e. when they fight for the same toy) and development (being able to organise activities, etc). Being able to cook something for the kids -even just some pasta- if needed.
    - Attitude: we are looking for someone who wants to make a deep-jump into Italian culture and in our lifestyle. We do not look for a nanny or a housekeeper. We offer hospitality with the attitude of sharing knowledge and passion and ask for the same. We will trust you as a family member and require you to do same with us for a 100% positive experience both sides.

BABYSITTING: if you do not fit to the above criteria but still like to join us we might need some help when not hosting au-pair during summertime so feel free to reach out!

    GENERAL HOUSE MANTEINANCE:
We are planning to repaint walls in the house during wintertime. Please do apply if you have some experience with this.

    What else ...

In Cardona there are no shops. The nearest Cafeteria is located in the main town Alfiano Natta, just a few minutes by car or around 10 minutes walking. There are also a small grocery, a post office and a pharmacy.

Asti is 20 km away. You can go there by public transport (not working in August); a bus stops here two to three times a day and arrive to Asti train station. Ticket costs € 2.30 one-way.
From here you can visit Torino, Milano or Genova in the day. There are a lot of beautiful natural places to visit and ancient churches or towns.
