Description
I am Sophia, half Dutch and half Moroccan and looking to make something out of this beautiful farm land in Bouznika! In between Casablanca and the modern capital Rabat, we are situated 7km from the beach, right next to the forest and town. This sweet plot of land is ready for a makeover and many funky projects. It's a super peaceful place with stunning sunset views from our roof terrace. I live here with my father and grandmother and we do different chores every day to make the place run smoothly.
We currently have around 20 free roaming rabbits and chickens, 2 peafowl, 3 dogs (Otto, Luke and Lady), turtles, and tropical bird aviary. We have a mini banana plantation, olive trees, and fruit trees. The projects we have include building a lake fit for swimming, raising goats for milk, and a big vegetable garden. We will need help with all of these projects and more!
People who enjoy working outside with their hands, gardening, building, taking care of animals and bringing new ideas are all welcome!
There is a lot of French being spoken in the house with family members so speaking French is a big plus. However, I am always happy to translate, and you can use the opportunity to improve/learn French.
It is expected to help out around the house to keep it clutter free, tidying up after meals and cleaning up after yourselves which is excluded from the 4 hours.
We have many ideas and will need lots of help to make (y)our dreams a reality.
NOTE: There is construction and renovation going on at the farm at the moment so there are people coming in and out.

Accommodation
We have a spare room with beds for workawayers and toilet/shower. You can make your own meals or join the family meals in the main house!

What else ...
We are 3 kilometers from the train station which connects to Casablanca, Rabat and Tanger. From those bigger trainstation you can travel to other big cities like Fez and Marrakech.
There are options nearby to surf, horse ride, fish, jet ski, play tennis, karting and paddel.
The nearest restaurant, cafe and convenient store is 1.8 km away.
We are 1.5km away from the main road where you can take a taxi into town for very cheap. And otherwise, it's a 50 minute walk.
We have a bicycle you can use to cycle to town or around the neighbourhood.
No smoking inside.
We do hear the animals early in the morning, if that is something that bothers you, bring earplugs! Other than that, we are flexible and open. Having lived in 6 different countries, we love people with different backgrounds!
A little more information

Internet access

Limited internet access

We have pets

We are smokers

Can host families

Can host digital nomads
As long as you have 4 hours available during the day to help on the farm we are perfectly happy with digital nomads. I myself give English lessons online too!

Space for parking camper vans
Sufficient parking space and land available for a camper or motorhome.

Can possibly accept pets
We have free roaming turtles, fowl and rabbits, so as long as your pet does not disturb them, we are more than happy to have them around.

How many Workawayers can stay?
More than two

My animals / pets
Luke
Luke is an energetic malinois. Very agile and a little stubborn, he's the only one that checks on me when I walk him
Otto
Otto is a very loyal street dog who followed us home one day. We decided to keep him and he has made it worth it. A great guard dog when needed and very friendly. He likes to jump (sometimes with all feet off the ground!)

It was my first time doing workaway and it probably increased my standards by a lot. From the second I arrived I felt welcomed and comfortable. I honestly had some tears in my eyes when I was on the bus to my next destination. The farm felt like a home to me and I… read more
