    Description

My teenage daughter and I live on a property in Tasman bay inside the Abel Tasman National Park which is about a 40 minute drive from Motueka. Our property is over 800 acres of hilly terrain, mostly Beech forest with several paddocks used for grazing our sheep and alpacas. We are quite isolated and off-grid using solar power, gas, and firewood for heating etc. There is little to no phone signal coverage but we offer wifi capability through Starlink.

Our aim is to be completely self-sustainable by growing our own organic food and growing organic soil. We have a natural water source which is pumped via a ram pump system into several water storage tanks.

There are several local outdoor activities available including a 35 minute walk to Harwood's hole carpark or to the beginning of the Rameka Track. You could also hike to the Abel Tasman Great Walk track via either the Awapoto hut to Totaranui beach or via the Castle Hill hut to the Anchorage hut. For the mountain biking enthusiasts there is the Rameka track (to Takaka township in Golden bay) or the Canaan Loop just down the road. so much to see and do.
