Greetings to all, my name is Miguel, I am from the south of Ecuador, from the Cañar canton, I and my family belong to the Cañari culture, I studied tourism, which helps me to meet many travellers, this has helped me to be very empathetic, respectful and helpful, as their travel stories have moved me.
I always try to help them with accommodation and food when I meet them on the road.
I came to this platform because some of these travellers recommended it to me. They saw what my life is like in the countryside, working the land, taking care of animals and learning ecological construction, and they mentioned Workaway to me.
Anyway, my project focuses on three things: agriculture, animal husbandry and the construction of ecological cabins.
My family and I will teach them what life in the countryside is like, we will teach them how to fertilise the land, how to cultivate it, all the processes for its production and harvesting. We also want them to help us in the construction of ecological cabins. It would be good for you to learn about construction.
Finally, I would like to mention that it will not all be work; you will have your respective holidays, you will be able to spend time with the people of the community and, if you wish to learn or practice the Spanish language, I will talk to my school so that you can attend.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
In the community they can attend sports such as indoor sports, Ecuavóley, community migas and socialise with the people, practice Spanish and gain knowledge of how we organise ourselves to get ahead in the villages and nationalities.
I also learn about the protection of the moors that are our source of life.
In addition, my city is considered the archaeological and cultural capital of Ecuador; therefore you will be able to visit some archaeological complexes in the city such as Ingapirca, the Sangay National Park and the Inca Trail.
The skills they can learn in my community will be about agriculture, cattle breeding, irrigation and team work, the Kichwa language, the Spanish language and about business in the local markets.
By welcoming people, we hope to learn all about their knowledge, whether it is about construction, agriculture, organic fertilizers, livestock. All the knowledge you can share with us.
En la comunidad pueden asistir a practicar deportes como el indoor, Ecuavóley, a las migas comunitarias y socializar con las personas, practicar español y obtener conocimientos de cómo nos organizamos para salir adelante en los pueblos y nacionalidades.
También aprender de la protección de los páramos que son nuestra fuente de vida.
Además, mi ciudad es considerada como capital arqueológica y cultural del Ecuador; por lo mismo podrán visitar algunos complejos arqueológicos de la ciudad como el Ingapirca, también el parque nacional Sangay, el camino del Inca.
Las habilidades que pueden aprender estando en mi comunidad serán sobre la agricultura, ganadería, riegos y trabajo en equipo, el idioma Kichwa, el idioma español y sobre el negocio en los mercados locales.
Acogiendo a las personas, esperamos aprender todo sobre sus conocimientos, ya sean de construcción, agricultura, abonos orgánicos, ganadería. Todos los conocimientos que nos puedan compartir.
Todo esto no es organizado, tal vez algunas veces se cumplan con las actividades o no.

Accommodation
It is a rustic house; I have 2 rooms that are very comfortable and clean, plus you will have a shared bathroom for guests only.
In the kitchen, for you to have the best experience, it will be shared with the family, in which the host and the guest can cook their meals and share.
On the other hand we are in the countryside so it is very quiet.
Es una casa rústica; tengo 2 cuartos que son muy cómodos y limpios, además tendrán un baño compartido únicamente para huéspedes.
En la cocina, para que tenga la mejor experiencia, será compartida con la familia, en la cual el anfitrión y el huéspede puedan cocinar sus comidas y compartirse.
Por otra parte estamos en el campo por lo cual es muy tranquilo.

Solo tengo que decir que tienen que respetar las costumbres y tradiciones, la gastronomía de mi cultura y las reglas de la casa, además de hacer una buena relación entre todos.

Es es un lugar muy tranquilo, con lindos paisajes, es un lugar en la cual vive la cultura Cañari, no es muy turista, mi ciudad es considerada cómo la capital arqueológica y cultural de Ecuador. Pueden ayudar a dar a conocer mi ciudad al mundo. Promocionar mi cultura, tradiciones, costumbres, gastronomía y los lugares turísticos.
