Thank you, Roger and Brenda! We had an amazing time picking plums, watching the monarch caterpillars turn to chrysalis', and visiting the Manakau Market. You are both so generous and we are very happy to have had such a great place to start our journey in New Zealand. Roger and Brenda shared so much information and enthusiasm about the area and New Zealand in general, making it a great place to get our bearings. We have to give a shoutout to Neil and the Market - what an amazing neighbor! If we were ever back in NZ we would absolutely come and say hello. Great spot, great people, and great plums.

Benjamin stayed with us for just under three weeks, and his stay turned out to be quite a bit more eventful than any of us expected. He arrived as planned, and during his first week we had two other Workawayers staying as well. The three of them worked together smoothly and things flowed really well. Not long after, life and weather had other ideas. Benjamin went to meet his girlfriend, and a series of storms made crossing the Tararua Range difficult, so it took him a little while before he was able to make his way back to us. Once he settled into any work here, he got properly stuck in. One of the bigger tasks he took on was chopping a large pile of firewood. It’s a physically demanding job that we always offer rather than expect anyone to do, so we really appreciated that he was keen to learn, practice, and keep going with it. He worked through the entire pile, and when we’re sitting by the fire next winter we will definitely think of Benjamin and the effort he put into preparing that wood. Benjamin was also very kind with our daughter and spent time playing with her, which she enjoyed a lot. During his stay his girlfriend visited us on one occasion as well. She didn’t participate in the work, but she was polite and respectful of the household. At one point things became quite lively when friends dropped by and our house suddenly filled up to around 14 people. Benjamin took the chaos in good spirits and handled the busy household environment well. He is willing to take on physical tasks, and easy to host. He’s also definitely not a fussy eater and always helps out to lend a hand in the kitchen, too. Overall we enjoyed having Benjamin stay with us and would happily recommend him to other hosts looking for someone who is capable, willing to learn, and ready to contribute.

Staying with Anny (and sometimes her mom) was a lovely wonderful experience. She's one of the kindest women I've met in Australia and she really made me feel like home. The house and the garden is beautiful, so as the places around I've visited. Anny is very flexible and easy to communicate with and that works very well if you're the same.We did some work together inside and outside the house and shared diner some nights. Likewise I had a lot of free time to spend with myself and see the pretty coasts and wildife around. I can say that I made a new friend and I am so grateful that I could just be myself around her.

Phoebe stayed with us for 2 weeks, and having her here was truly a joy. She was an absolutely lovely presence in our home and quickly became part of the rhythm of family life. She was wonderful with our daughter and also with the children of friends who visited while she was here. Whether it was jumping on the trampoline, reading books, or diving into imaginative play, she connected with the kids so naturally and kindly. They absolutely loved spending time with her. In all the tasks she took on, Phoebe worked diligently and thoughtfully. She really cared about doing things properly and wasn’t afraid to ask questions when something needed clarification. We especially appreciated how curious she was about everything we’re doing here. She showed a genuine interest in learning about the permaculture aspects of our property and even explored books from our library to understand things better. Phoebe joined us on outings, hikes, and walks to explore the area and seemed to really enjoy the garden and the surrounding nature. Around the house she was a fantastic help, both in the kitchen and with everyday household tasks. Often she didn’t need to be asked. She would simply notice what needed doing and quietly get on with it. Originally we had planned to host two Workawayers during this time, but things evolved a "little" differently. A friend of Phoebe’s, Gemma, came through while walking the Te Araroa Trail, and we happily became “trail angels” for a few days. Gemma fitted in so naturally and helped out as well, which made the experience even more special. Additionally, we also had friends visiting and the house briefly with 14 people, creating a lively, slightly chaotic, but very warm and fun atmosphere. Phoebe embraced it all with great humour and calmness and felt like part of one big extended family. Phoebe is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and easy to have around. We will truly miss her and feel very grateful that she spent part of her travels with us. We wish her all the very best for the rest of her journey and sincerely hope our paths cross again someday.

It was a wonderful opportunity to look at everyday life in Japan objectively. The day I went was a traditional Japanese girls' festival day, so we brought some traditional sweets and local souvenirs. They gladly accept our culture too. I regret going with a carry case, so I recommend that those who go in the future go with a backpack. You can experience their dish licking culture here also. I was surprised at first, but I learned that it is an important idea in the modern society of mass consumption.High-quality plates and spoons in I think getting this plate will lead to a deep understanding of the culture their handmade embroidered bags can be purchased optionally. These purchases are not forced, but I think getting this plate will lead to a deep understanding of this culture! They can speak fluent English and know some Japanese words! It was really helpful and glad to me. Even without English, they try to understand patiently. I really recommend visiting them to everyone ! 何ができるかに限らず、この人たちの大きな目的は、文化を共有することです。 日本人もたくさん受け入れているので、 日本の方は特にぜひ訪れてみてほしいです!

We’ve been staying with Siri for a week and it’s been a beautiful experience. The job was easy, teaching English to the kids is something we enjoyed doing but an important responsability. The kids are keen to learn, but each one of them has their own way of learning, patience and creativity are necessary. For this record, we particularly enjoyed the cooking English classes, as we thought it would be a fun way to learn, and we know for sure they loved it! Siri is a wonderful host, she’s been like a heartwarming mum for us, always taking care of everyone and making sure we had food and fun. She took us out to eat every day and brought us to see some nice temples and waterfalls around the area. She also let us use her motorbike to go around on our free time. She’s been a good friend other than a host and we are grateful for this experience! We spent a very good week with her and for sure we hope to meet her again one day!

Nice couple eager to handle any task presented and showed a genuine interest in the work. Quite skillful and knowledgeable in a wide variety of work and construction projects and made a great team of volunteers for us. They proactively made some improvements to the cabin in their spare time which was thoughtful and greatly appreciated. Kept the living quarters nice any tidy. Highly recommend!

Barbara was truly a wonderful Workawayer to host. From the moment she arrived, she showed a lot of initiative, responsibility, and a very positive attitude toward everything she did. She is extremely self-motivated and always looked for ways to help without needing much direction. It was clear that she genuinely cared about contributing and making things better around her. Beyond being a great volunteer, Barbara became much more than that during her stay. She became a friend and a great support. Her kindness, calm energy, and thoughtful presence made a real difference in our daily life. She was always willing to lend a hand, listen, or step in when things were busy or challenging. She worked with care and attention to detail, was reliable and organized, and got along wonderfully with everyone in the house. People naturally felt comfortable around her, and she helped create a warm and positive atmosphere. We are very grateful for the time we shared with Barbara and would warmly recommend her to any host. She is not only a fantastic volunteer but also a genuinely lovely person to have around amd we'll miss her <3

Axelle was such an amazing teacher and honestly just a really special person to have with us. From the first day, she brought a calm, positive energy into our home and into the school, and she connected with the students so naturally. Even though her time with us was short, she made a real impact on the students and us! She was reliable, respectful, and easy to communicate with, and she fit into our routine like she’d been here much longer haha. The students genuinely loved her, and you could see how comfortable they felt speaking with her. After she got comfortable she had such a great way of being supportive while still pushing students to speak more and try harder. On a personal level, we really enjoyed having her around. She was kind, thoughtful, and just a pleasure to talk to. Both us and the students are sad to see her go, but we know she’ll do great things wherever she goes next. Axelle, if you ever find yourself back in Cambodia in the future, just know you are always welcome here with us. Merci Axelle. N'oublie pas de t'entraîner au billard pour qu'on puisse gagner la prochaine fois, haha!

I don't have enough words to describe how wonderful this place and the people living there was. Thank you so much JayaSri and Lila for having me there. One of the most beatiful workaway experiences EVER. Lila is kind and easy to talk to, JayaSri is such a lovely person and she is the best at cooking and flowers!! Lots of differents kinds of works to do: cleaning, fencing, painting, gardening, cooking, organising.... lots of free time to spend on the side areas (waterfalls, ponds and bush walks...) THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!

I've stayed at Serena's for two wonderful weeks, full of deep conversations, a lot of delicious food (Serena's cakes are amazing) and plenty of time for myself to enjoy the neighborhood and relax. The tasks are well explained, Serena always makes sure you have everything you need for a proper job and you can plan your job schedule. The property is beautiful and you'll enjoy volunteering, among nature and quiet. The accommodation is what you can't imagine, a room with your own bathroom. Serena is wonderful person besides of being a great host. I hope to come back! Also because I miss Serena's cakes;) Thank you very much Serena

Words really can't describe this beautiful experience. I got to spend the most amazing five weeks with Nazli, Ilker and Luca and left with my heart full of good memories and new friends! As soon as I walked through their door I felt very welcomed and like a part of the family. Nazli always made sure I was happy and had everything I needed and also Luca is a really happy and cheerful baby (with the fluffiest cheeks ever;)). The apartment is in a really good location in the city (Lisbon is a beautiful city btw) and you can reach everything important walking but the public transport also works well. Thank you again and I really hope I'll be able to come back to Lisbon one day!

My partner Hannah and I spent a wonderful 3 weeks here getting to know Maria and some of her friends and working in her garden, in particular turning her compost to make it usable in her garden, as well as doing some seeding, mulching, pruning, cutting down some bamboo and general garden maintenance. The garden here has potential, especially with a little more time and attention from volunteers. Maria trusted us right away once we showed that we weren't afraid to get dirty and do some outdoor work. It's great to see such a great little yoga and garden sanctuary in the heart of the city. Hopefully we'll be able to return there sometime in the future.

First of all, I would like to say thank you. The host was a very kind person. It was my first time using Workaway, and he made me feel very comfortable and welcome from the beginning. I was really impressed by how passionate he is about his work and how he continues to pursue his dreams with determination. The house is a little far from the center of Madrid, but it is surrounded by beautiful nature, and the two weeks passed by very quickly. The work mainly involved gardening. It made me very happy to see the garden becoming cleaner and more beautiful as we worked on it. The host also gave us plenty of breaks, which made the work environment very comfortable. I couldn’t speak Spanish at all when I arrived, but this experience made me love Spain even more. It also inspired me to start studying Spanish. I hope to see him again someday. I truly recommend this host to anyone considering a Workaway experience!

Alejandro was an invaluable member of our maintenance team for over a month. Not only did he execute every task with precision and diligence, but he also brought an incredible energy to the workplace. His positive attitude and sense of fun made a lasting impact on team morale. I would highly recommend Alejandro to any organization looking for a hard worker who truly brightens the environment.

Deb and Alex were excellent guests, workers and friends. I would recommend them to any work away host that is looking for some excellent help and Company. They took excellent care of my dogs and me taking the dogs for long walks and swims in the ocean. They got a lot of work done, took good care of their living space and my surroundings as well and took good care of my pet parrot as well. Deb was able to get some work done remotely while Alex enjoyed some surfing and helping me out with everything else. I was so glad Deb was able to catch her first ocean fish.
