Description
My family owns a small island in the northern Patagonia of Chile, guardian of one of the few myrtle forests in the world and custodian of two types of bioluminescent life. We want to complete a project for a self-sustainable park and a sailing school. The jobs on the island that we need are help in the construction of the tiny house, maintenance of the garden and the wooden sailboats. Here you can fish from the shore, catch shellfish on full and new moons, and walk through the forest. We are only 1 mile from the town of Calbuco

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I am a navigation professor at the San Sebastián University and I am building my own school here on the island, so on weekends we can learn to sail. I also know astronomical navigation. On the island we will be the only inhabitants, so it is necessary that we work as a team with the needs that we will have, good communication and motivation to live this adventure

Help
At the moment we mainly need help improving our solar panel system, doing some woodwork projects, and helping maintain the boats and the island, keeping it clean and well cared for.
If you're interested in learning, we’re happy to share knowledge about tools, island life and working with local materials.

Accommodation
On the island we have one cabin, two tiny houses and a glamping structure. During December to February (summer) the main focus is tourism, so some of these spaces may be occupied by visitors. In those cases, volunteers can stay in tents that we provide with everything needed to sleep comfortably.
From March onwards, when tourism slows down, volunteers can stay in the cabin, the tiny houses or the glamping, depending on availability.
The stay includes breakfast, lunch and an evening meal (once or dinner). We share meals as a community and we always take turns cooking on a voluntary basis.
